People are confusing the Numidians with the Carthaginians. Hannibal wasn't black and neither were the Carthaginians. The majority of Numidians would have had a sub-saharan skin tone.

Berber is really a language, not an ethnicity. The ethnicity is called Tamazigh, and they are semitic.

I should point out that Berber languages are part of the larger Afrasan linguistic phylum, which most probably originated to the southeast in Northeast Africa ( see here [3.bp.blogspot.com]). So it probably would have been what we would call black people bringing ancestral Berber into the North African region.

Numidians were historically similar to Berbers, which still exist today, and they were absolutely not Dark-Skinned Sub-Saharan Africans.
