I would like this mod but in parts, i don't want all of it, i would leave the boss previews out

Love this. The obfuscation of basic information doesn't make the game more interesting.

Question - for the non-battle information, where is that displayed in game? I'm wondering whether this mod conflicts with mods that add Curio Hints, for example?

oh my god, thanks, You saved me
Dawnbomb  [author] 22 Jul, 2019 @ 12:34am
more or less discontinued. it still works, but... it was made to be future proof. one day maybe i'll finish it. still, it covers the vast majority of things in the game.
One Man Army 21 Jul, 2019 @ 12:53pm
Is this mod discontinued? :tcry:
Attrition 20 Mar, 2019 @ 4:16am
looking forward to this covering the DLCs one day!
Harlequin 27 Jan, 2019 @ 6:08pm
I noticed that when cleaning infected corpses for a quest, the infected corpses render sideways with the quest item tooltip.
kortland 13 Jan, 2019 @ 1:56am
hey man, game crashes with this mode like every 10 mins disabling stops the crashes.
Scootz 5 Jan, 2019 @ 9:25am
Hey man, really like how you've done the item interactions on curios!
Swingletree 28 Nov, 2018 @ 10:44am
@ara first of all, we don't actually have perfect information. There's RNG to respond to and strategize around. There's everything except what requires rote memorization.

Secondly, do you know what does have perfect information?
An extremely easy game called Chess.
Swingletree 28 Nov, 2018 @ 10:42am
@ara i have an unusually bad memory, but i love darkest dungeon. This mod is basically perfect for me.
Dawnbomb  [author] 27 Nov, 2018 @ 9:41pm
(4/4) in contract, most / all recent tales games have a friggin in game wiki you can look things up in. and slay the spire (a massively popular roguelike card game where you draft a random deck of cards) shows what the enemy will do. Clarity, has it's times where it can be ambigious, but in basic gameplay? thats absurd.

ALSO WHEE steam comment limits of 1000 characters. fun stuff.
Dawnbomb  [author] 27 Nov, 2018 @ 9:41pm
(3/4) if you really think that all the game is at it's base is rolling RNG, that thats literally all it has to offer, then altho i disagree, to a person who DOES believe that, why would you even play such a shallow RNG game?

oh, and as a final note, your comment also assumes the player has a *Perfect memory*. if a player can't remember things, then they would keep making the exact same mistakes over and over again. maybe its a streamer distracted with their viewers, or maybe someone has some slight color blindness and can't tell the diffrence between the iron and wood chests. theres a decent number of reasons one might possibly be unable to remember or tell what their supposed to do. oh, and good luck finding out what some specific traits do that you LITERALLY CAN'T KNOW UNLESS YOU LOOK IT UP. mine as well call that entire series of traits "?????" and give it no description, for someone trying to genuinly 'learn' the game, those things are a giant fuck you to the player.
Dawnbomb  [author] 27 Nov, 2018 @ 9:40pm
(2/4) i make both clarity mods, and difficulty mods. and call me narcisistic but i do believe some of the best challenges in gaming are when the player knows whats going on, when they can find out everything, and it still be a tough game. things like league of legends tell you EVERYTHING, as do 4X strategy games like endless legend, or high challenge hacks like final fantasy Tactics 1.3 or tales of graces F.

if a player wants a game to be harder, and is worried this mod can make things easier, there are hard / difficulty mods one can download. infact, this mod was made specificlly with no specific information being given on anything that a hard mod might actually touch, and can be combined with (i think) any difficulty mod out there, to make a challengeing, AND fair game.

Dawnbomb  [author] 27 Nov, 2018 @ 9:40pm
@ara (1/3) that idea is assumeing that the player will only play the game once, ever, it will be blood moon difficulty, the player will definatly not look up how to play on wikipedia, or visit any public forums, reddit, or speak to any friends that might tell information. and the player will absolutely not lose, despite some options possibly causeing a hero death, and thus save file deletion.

if that was not the case, the player would already 'know' these things anyway. moreover, thinking that that exact situation, without deviance, is the expected 'norm' is silly. of corse the player will by some form or another, learn things. and also, with such a permenant defeat, combined with such a long grueling campaign, to have the audacity to hide these things from you, is fucking trash gameplay design. if a player wants a game to be challengeing, it can be without it also being bullshit.

Illusion 27 Nov, 2018 @ 8:41pm
The game is balanced around player learning things on the go. Knowing every detail and every interaction would narrow the game down to picking the right option (not a challenge at all, since we have perfect information) and rolling good RNG.
Dawnbomb  [author] 27 Nov, 2018 @ 8:29pm
@ara it doesn't affect the games difficulty at all.
Illusion 27 Nov, 2018 @ 7:25pm
Wouldn't the game become dirt-easy with this mod?
Ragnar Lothbrok 27 Nov, 2018 @ 5:02pm
I think what you did here is amazing, I love this game but I'm not trying to attend a college class. Even after almost 100 hours, this MOD made it for me.
Snoot Booper 26 Nov, 2018 @ 8:27am
found an issue, that breaks a texture of one of the quest curios (Infected Corpse)
I have confirmed that it´s caused by this mod, ´cause this problem didn´t occurre after mod was disabled. Hope this helps
https://ibb.co/Hrt3zCT
https://ibb.co/hyqD2Sc
Also a problem with Stack of books curio where reward shows after it is cleansed instead otherwise
Dawnbomb  [author] 25 Nov, 2018 @ 4:11pm
@swing(Simon) it could. depends how motivated i get. would be easier with a actual list of things that need fixing.

thats also why i released the mod before i just kinda forgot about it, because its fantastic. and to many modders drop and never release projects, i'd also be open to recieveing help. (or bribes).

@aibolitko this mod, as far as im aware, should be incapable of causing crashes. its a mere text mod. it shouldn't even conflict with other mods. maybe.. idk, is there any error message? or are you sure its THIS mod that causes it? can anyone else reproduce this?
Swingletree 25 Nov, 2018 @ 2:39pm
So is this mod likely to see an update that fixes the bugs and brings it up to date?
Aibolitko 25 Nov, 2018 @ 11:22am
Currently causing crashes and 2-3s lags on some actions.
AleK 24 Nov, 2018 @ 10:44pm
ok
Dawnbomb  [author] 24 Nov, 2018 @ 10:32pm
Good luck manageing to beat the game under 100 weeks, less than 16 deaths, all the while unknown mysteries, the game somewhat literally rigged for your demise.

this may be a good game if you know everything, but when you know nothing, its kind of not even worth trying to win. you need either a fantastic memory, or some serious pencil, paper, and trial and error.
AleK 24 Nov, 2018 @ 8:23pm
i don't look at the wiki though
Dawnbomb  [author] 24 Nov, 2018 @ 7:07pm
@alek yeah if your cool with writing down with pencil and paper every single result of everything in the entire game, or looking at everything in the wiki. but if your looking at the wiki, then that defeats your own argument of wanting to 'learn' the game.

wikis are not immersive, or a fun way to play a game. info you need to not literally have your save file deleted, should not be hidden. like "suprise! your save file is gone!" wow so immersive. bad player choice? fine. the game just going suprise you lose? not fun.

@Mean Man this is only a text mod, there no actual codeing done, so that can't be done, because i would need something to detect if the max or min was hit. moreover, you can totally just look at your weapons min or max number.
AleK 24 Nov, 2018 @ 6:20am
doesn't this kind of undermine the point of learning the game though
Meat Man (Alfons) 24 Nov, 2018 @ 4:12am
Ooh, good idea for a mod.

What I'd like to see is a "MAX!" or "MIN!" text appearing if the said character dealt an attack that dealt the max or lowest possible damage, not including critical hits of course.
Azoriel-Vk 23 Nov, 2018 @ 9:57pm
bandage shows 0 interactions for warrens, actually has 1 for loot
Snoot Booper 21 Nov, 2018 @ 8:36am
This mod is great! finally don´t have to tap out of the game to check wiki for certain stuff. This mod saves a lot of time
Dawnbomb  [author] 21 Nov, 2018 @ 7:00am
so, did this mod get featured somewhere? seeing a huge traffic influx.

@syvils_lol the chances / useful info is when you press H (the help button) in a dungeon. so, it definatly can't conflict. however, while i don't know what mods ur talkin about, its possible the information shown with the clarity mod simply won't all be completly true anymore. that said, the default game tells you astoundingly little about about your enemies so, slightly incorrect info would be better then nothing yeah?

and if any other mod dev made a game changeing mod for enemies, they possibly made enemies keep their general theme. in any case, this mod doesn't change anything specific about the game (except curios images) so, it's mostly only a text mod. i would imagine that if another mod dev changed say, an ability name, then that ability would not have colors from this mod and you'd atleast know "definatly not normal"
Syviis 21 Nov, 2018 @ 3:22am
Will this mod conflict with other mods? For example: Level 2 and 4 Quests. I see that you have the chances of finding a gem in the current system and just wanted to make sure they wont conflict.
neyhon 21 Nov, 2018 @ 1:39am
wow..thanks a lots!
