@gas : becqusez you need the wood as fuel in the furnace so if it all turned to coal you wouldnt be able to use wood to make your furnace work

The game client will not load with this mod enabled..

And why cant you get coal from wood as wood coal? Its easier. Wood in the furnace and make it to wood coal. Thats it.

Thanks for this mod. Oil is a later game thing once you get the press or a good location with oil node. Not always can somebody find one close by or get lucky to find charcoal node close by, so this mod helps.

To those who don't understand how to work this mod, you put 3 wood into the compost heap to turn it into firewood, and then you put that into the furnace and burn it to make the coal

I haven't used your mod yet, but this is brilliant and should seriously be how it works in-game by default.

Depends on where you have build your base. in my first atempt of the game i had my base in the desert and i found plenty of coal. now my base is in the jungle and i never found coal veins there.

I have been trying to find coal so I could have a torch in my house. Is that asking too much? I still haven't found it which seems weird 80 hours into the game. Your mod works great and (mostly) follows logic of real world materials, turning wood into charcoal. Nice job!
