cock.
sure. but they already are. :) the assets in Valadian's scripted 'tournement' table came from the compendium. he wanted to make a simpler scripted table... and there it is. There are no plans to merge the two. and i am kindof done here. I'm glad you enjoy it though. thanks.
Awesome module, thanks!
Now, I must be blind but cannot find the EFG manoeuvres decks...
@capt.von.ondine: thanks, that's a kind offer, and much appreciated. A, B, C & D have been redone, but if you notice any obvious cards missing.... cheers.
>>decks are similar.
I'm just one person, and there's only so many hours in a day. it'd be nice if a kind soul could help with decent scans. they're on the "to do" list. (not something i use myself, bumped them down a bit. sorry).
>>Hopefully, those 200+ miniatures have respective bases.
you have access to my workshop page now? check 'em out. at this scale, bases could be in Swahili, and it wouldn't impact gameplay much (thanks 'mouse over'). ultimately, i want 0 errors in there. but you're a little hung up with minutiae right now, i feel. please don't panic.
>>Converting it into a hex wargame would defy the purpose of it being a miniatures game, I'm afraid.
with respect, that's your opinion. you don't like hexs? bin the cards. I won't be offended.
anyway.. onwards..
cheers for your concerns.
don't panic. :)
@Kendo353,
Converting it into a hexagonal wargame would defy the purpose of it being a miniatures game, I'm afraid. And I think there is already some hex Age of Sail tabletop games out there, so it would probably make more sense adopting those instead.
Either way, I guess this is still the closest to having a proper Sails of Glory match in a synthetic environment, not to mention it would probably be easier to modify the game itself this way, since the rules, in my opinion, leave things to be desired.
>>Better to make it a single mod and store things in bags instead of around the table. Improves load times, and makes it where people don't have to go back and forth.
I hear that. It's a dilemma. Physics is already going wonky around the edge of the table, and I can't stretch it out any further. This is the shipyard...

It's getting big. With 200+ models (feasibly) and associated cards, logs, etc.. Will it all fit on one table? Please 'steam friend' me.. (it should then be visible to you) and we can chat about what to do next. cheers...
I am looking into possibly scripting the mod (I did the Star Wars Armada scripting) to make it playable. but wanted to make sure all the components necessary to play are in place first.
@Surveyor: it's a very good idea. and it would be very nice to see it implemented. thanks for the suggestion. TTS may not be 'the perfect fit' for vanilla sails of glory, but there's no reason the hex variant shouldn't work. i guess, playing with your friends it will easy to agree on some form of compromise where the engine falls short. 99% of the time, i solo game anyway.. so these aren't big issues for me. (though i'm trying my best to get everything working). :) cheers....
Sorry, I can't help with examples, because it was something I came up with personally and I don't code in Lua, nor do I have decent knowledge of what the workshop has to offer.
Thank you for finding and pointing out an example on your own, though.
I don't have a lot of experience with TTS, also I never tried coding in Lua, so I'm afraid I'm not of a big help here. It's just an idea that came to my mind when I was checking your mod that it would be nice if a ship mat could be initialized by dropping a ship card onto it. After all, the real ones are also "initialized" in a somewhat similar manner.
Personally, I don't miss the cutouts all that much (and I'm not exactly sure TTS can handle the overlapping that easily, considering how much pain the rulers can be to use). It's just that I liked that in RL the ship card and both the maneuvering cards are underneath the mat. Makes it easier to locate them, in my opinion.
is there an example of this? i'll gladly try it.

While not a game I would condone for any rational human being to play, the Xia DLC (expanion in workshop) implements many useful scripts, one of which is something that does just this. One places a card on a spot, it changes textures and models based on what the user has placed there. It is a simple process dressed in some very nice stagecraft.
I could probably come up with many more examples from the workshop but that's the first thing that pops into mind.
