@CrucialMuffin7 There’s an updated version of this mod available.
CrucialMuffin7 21 feb, 2021 @ 20:08
THANK YOU! This is honestly the game's biggest issue.
Zarion 29 jan, 2021 @ 14:31
@Griffin This mod should work with anything that doesn’t modify institutions, but it might also have issues with something that changes buildings, since those can affect institutions.
Timey Wimey 29 jan, 2021 @ 7:10
Does it work with M&T 2.52 ?
Zarion 26 feb, 2020 @ 14:38

Zarion 5 okt, 2019 @ 19:31
There seems to be some issues with landilandmine uploading the mod so I've decided to do it myself.

Here is the link:

If you need any assistance, I've already updated my version up to 1.27, so I'd be happy to help.
Zarion 10 nov, 2018 @ 21:55
Are you still working on updating this for 1.27?
landilandmine 10 nov, 2018 @ 3:55
If you enable this mod you dont have any policy slots. pls update
Gabadur 7 nov, 2018 @ 12:33
does it work now?
-=EDF=- Kouta Seto 20 okt, 2018 @ 14:23
Yea so dont forget : a china/japan that would USE cannons/gunpowder would well develop tanks/submarines/proper warships by 1800 because they HAD that tech already WAY bevor the west found out about it. So them catching up and thus all others because you counter something you encounter is perfectly fine and as realistic as it can be.
Zarion 3 okt, 2018 @ 21:11
Just so you know, instead of directly editing the defines file, there is a defines folder and special file that lets you make specific edits to the defines, if you use that it makes the mod more compatible with other mods.
HELLO THERE 2 okt, 2018 @ 7:32
@Regaccio Now that 1.27 was released, what are your plans regarding this mod?
Regaccio  [skapare] 12 sep, 2018 @ 8:14
Yeah, this isn't compatible with 1.26. I'll probably update it for compatibility at some point and add some other things I've been wanting like a change to the instant reformation for natives, and something to fix institutions spreading through TCs too fast. (especially relevant now that Europeans actually show up in India)

Though I'll probably wait for the hotfix first. Might also see if I can make this compatible with Beyond Typus since it's a very small mod.
ranma100 11 sep, 2018 @ 20:51
Great idea for a mod. Unfortunatly, with 1.26 it messes up the reform government and policies and decisions windows.

ironman?
Heir of the Void 23 aug, 2018 @ 15:08
Great mod - makes the institution mechanic usable without the whole world catching up overnight. I agree with the need to stop the instant institution gain of indians, though.
Sledjer 2 jul, 2018 @ 16:48
Is there any way you could limit the instant instituation gain of amerindians?
TRVTHNVQE 9 jun, 2018 @ 5:13
Maybe make the nonliterates get an additional institution - literacy - a prerequisite system that can allow everyone to catch up if they're lucky, but in 70% of cases things play out as they did

It occurred to me that the negative spread modifier to non-Shinto Chinese tech-group provinces will negatively affect a Christian Japan, who is clearly supposed to pick "A Kirishitan Realm" to get the printing press, which I find odd. Had Japan converted at that time, it would have been far more open to Western Tech and ideas, so I think that there should be an exception for Chinese tech-group Christian provinces (because they could become Protestant or Reformed after the initial conversion to Catholicism).

Other than that, this mod is pretty cool. Would this work with Beyond Typus, or would the changes to development in the next version of it mess with the spread modifier further, since this mod might override it?
Zarion 28 maj, 2018 @ 6:25
Is this mod compatible with previous versions, like 1.24?
BOY♂NEXT♂DOOR 27 maj, 2018 @ 15:31
To add to your statement, James, non-Europeans usually keep equal tech with the Europeans if there is a colony nearby due to development and institution spread which keeps states such as the West Africans, Chinese, Thai, Indians, and Moluccans at equal (military) tech with the Europeans and makes Dutch and British style colonialism during the pre-19th century more difficult than it should be. Warscore costs and the colonist system also makes Spanish-style colonialism impossible but that would need another mod.
James2k 25 maj, 2018 @ 12:03
because europe literally roflstomped everyone else for shits and giggles by the 1800s irl. the british ganked china with a tiny army just because china wasn't buying their opium, and they also conquered all of india literally just for trade. europe was far and away more advanced than everywhere else during late EU4.

whereas in game everyone catches up with europe by the 1800s.
City312 22 maj, 2018 @ 12:25
I am not sure how this mod is historically accurate when Ottamans, Arabs and Chinese invented so many technologies at that time which was also used by Europeans that in turn accelerated their development. However, in this mod it seems to omit this fact.
......... 22 maj, 2018 @ 7:04
This is another thing Paradoxes "fixed" due to being "not funny". Thank you for this mod.
Calvin J. Candie 19 maj, 2018 @ 19:09
Thanks a lot for this. Unlike others, very detailed and well thought to have realistic institutions finally. Thanks!
DerRitter 19 maj, 2018 @ 17:33
