Great tips Lozzy, glad you made it work! :) And thanks!

Alrighty, one year update! Mod seems to be working as intended now! My boys get their asses pretty badly kicked on the way into town but we managed it. As expected (and hoped for) its total carnage. I recommend making ASAP for the church! Pick up the K98 Sniper and head to the bell tower and snipe the devils down! Sooner or later one of you will hit the commander.

Dont be an idiot like me and assume the guy in the long black leather trench coat is the commander (the one who is pathetically cowering). Turns out I simply executed a civilian who was wearing an unfortunate coat.

Not easy in any way what so ever. Died 50 times. Love it. Recommend!

(Update on brand new computer / fresh install with tons of *just* WW2 mods, no compatibility issues noticed)

Thanks Burns, yeah the fuelpumps are actually props waiting to be blown up by a trigger in the end :)
BURNS 13 Apr, 2020 @ 1:58pm
Loved how you've put a lot of work into the fortification of the town :). But there was one building with a fuelstation inside :D

Lozzy; This is really strange! Never happens to me. Have absolutely no idea why some encounter this issue. And since you only have the required mods active, I have no explanation. Might have to redo the trigger and waypoint system, alternatively remove the first artillery barrage in the beginning, which is a shame because it really kinda adds to the epic BoB-feeling. For me, only like 2 soldiers die from the artillery in the beginning. The rest is healthy and combat ready :)

Might redo this in the future, hope you can enjoy my other missions instead without bugs!

Running just the min mods the scenario requires btw, nothing else.
Caiaphas 27 Nov, 2019 @ 9:54pm
This one seems rather buggy. Just about everybody was wiped out in the first initial artillery barrage (95% casualties). That meant only 2/3 of us could wander into the town badly wounded. When I inevitably got killed I would switch to an AI player that had ran hundreds of meters to the side of the town (close to the end zone). This must have set off the mission trigger because amazingly the Germans mortar'd themselves and their own commander to death, allowing me to complete the mission in about 5 minutes. Happened to me a few times.

Certainly shows potential. The AI acts a little nutty though, some of them wandering around all over.

My best guess for the artillery issue is that when rooting through the crates next to the gliders the AI is triggered to move forward slightly too early? that or they dawdle at the back too long and get hit. Every time the artillery blasts them at point blank range, landing directly in the middle of ALL of them lol.

Oh I see! My guess is that some of your mods are affecting the NPC behaviour, making them run straight into the artillery. Dont know which one though. If you want your squad to stay alive in the beginning, try playing the mission with only the required mods loaded for the scenario.
Glader 14 Aug, 2019 @ 5:45pm
@Restrindlerson I have like 60ish mods. mostly WW2 mods like FOW, IF, GEIST. I have some RHS and ACE. Would any of those do it? I always get hit and my squad is always hit and no one is left (well like maybe 3-6 friendlies are left) hahaha. I'm not that good!
Restrindlerson  [author] 14 Aug, 2019 @ 4:04am
Sounds really strange! The artillery is kind of scripted to miss your men at the beginning. Do you have any other mods than the ones required for this mission loaded? Some mods might affect NPC AI. I just tried it out and no one in my squad got hit.
Glader 11 Aug, 2019 @ 2:46pm
I am confused. Artillery kills all of the friendly AI. Am I supposed to single-handly rambo kill all germans after that or what? I think I am missing something.

Thanks! Happy you like it!

Make sure you have subscribed to all of the required mods and have them activated in the "MODS" section of your Arma 3 launcher when you start the game. You can see the required mods on this page to your right under "REQUIRED ITEMS". That should fix it.

oh nice. What mod is he from?
Restrindlerson  [author] 10 May, 2018 @ 5:28am
Ok cool, that movie is a classic. You can find that dead Paratrooper under
"props" in the editor with the name "dead paratrooper (101)". Then you can place him in any XYZ-position you want. After that you can use the in-game camera to take screenshots.
Wookiejedi 9 May, 2018 @ 1:10pm
Those pics of the parachute guy hanging off the church remind me of watching "The Longest Day". How did you do that for the picture?
