Also, make sure to read the descriptions before subscribing and using. Usually they will explain certain things, such as another mod being required before install. (make sure you get independent architecture w/ units for this mod as was said in description).

Its a mod. Not a setting. Mods change specific assets within a game. Subscribe to a mod, then load up AoE II HD/ AoE II (2013) (same thing), and go to steam workshop in the main menu. Once there, you will see the name of the mod that you downloaded. Here you can enable/disable it in game, unsubscribe and prioritize or de-prioritize.

To use this mod in particular, follow the above steps, make sure this mod is enabled and is up at the top and then, when you go to play, it shall come up for you. The mod should be enabled by default.

I'm pretty sure there a numerous guides in the community for this, if you cannot follow mine. Welcome to the community if your new.:AOEKnight:

I will not be just using DE graphics in the next mod; I will be choosing new/improved textures to replace every graphic individually and testing how they look. I'm basing my opinion on what I think looks nice, and also the views of the wider community. If anybody has any ideas or wants, leave a comment. Anyway, the DE textures will act as a base, and on top of that, I will add other textures.

Now, to answer your second question, which is perfectly valid (not noob). As I said above, I will choose the best graphics individually. I simply just replace the pre-existing graphics with my new chosen one.

To answer your first question, I am going to be using DE graphics in my new mod I'll be releasing shortly (hopefully), but not in this mod. This mod is considered finished by me now at this point. I might do another remaster to it in a couple of years’ time*, but I'm pretty happy so far with this one. At the moment, I am just fixing bugs found and implementing other feedback.

*To note, you might be wondering why I don’t just update the current mod. Simple, some people prefer the different ‘Revamped’ versions, v0.1 and v1.0. And I intend the next mod to be of a different style (in a way).

Oh and Wow! Are you going to slowly insert even all the DE textures (like your other work https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2051042500) or just those that you prefer from it?

And noob question: how are you going to handle different mods included which edit the same textures files? How do you give priority to one texture instead of another? Did you just picked the one you prefer?

I'm really digging this. I've played AOE2 since it came out, and while I do love the classic skins I gotta admit your work has helped reinvigorate my love for the game. Between new content and new skins, it feels less like the same old thing for an OG player.

The mod seems to fully function(e.g. the skins, the original resource icons and the Tech tree UI, etc.) And i am not to sure how this problem could arise on a computer/laptop with Windows? I am still undergoing work to Add the AOWE skins and other things to fix this problem, but i just don't now how.

Yes you can. Open the Directory of 'Age of Empires Definitve Edition Part 1(+ Part 2 because if you do it on one(remove it) it will still remain on the other) Then open resoures, then open _common, then delete the file 'ui' in the _common file and then you restart the game and then the main menu and main menu sound shall return to its originall

I think what @Asperger suggested would be cool for this mod. I prefer the Age of World Empires skins over Jorgito's as they're more subtle and similar to the originals. I think it would be familiar to players while adding a new twist.

Hey, i think i know why some civs uses the unique skins and some dont: They belong to the Western European unique set, while the others on different unique set do not get that. I recommend you trying to incorporate the Age of World Empires mod instead of the current ones. They're kinda unsuitable IMO.

is it normal it downloads 118 mb per part? Whenever i play the game i either have the new buildings, just icons, or just Units. I don't get it. Is there i way i can fix that?

I'm not sure how to find the files in the directory, but i tried unsubscribing and resubscribing. I found that the the unit skins, but not the building skins loaded properly using "Expansions" dataset. When using the Definitive Edition dataset, the unit skins still don't work properly for Byzantines and a few other civs, but the building skins do.

My assumption is that the unit skins are tied with "Part 2" of the mod, which is why units look different on other datasets. So, maybe there's something funny going on with "Part 1" that messes with the unit skins showing up properly on all civs.

Personally, I prefer the old units (Since I haven't played a game with all players using the same new unit skins yet), and the old menu screen (the closeup of the faces is a little creepy). I don't know if you plan on releasing a version with those differences, but I would really like to see these options available! Thanks!

Really!!! Try redownloading first(open directory and delete all files) and i have a copy without the unit skins and i will uplaod that shortly. i will also fix that problem if i can, and i might get talking to jorgito about it. thx for the feedback!!!

Great work so far! I have two concerns:

1) Can you make a version without the unit skins?

2) I seem to be having problems with the unit skins only loading properly on some civs. For example, Byzantines don't load the new unit skins properly even though the training icons have changed, while Britons use the new unit skins.
