happens randomly when applying a crit

although I've realized that it only fixes itself if you do it twice

I've noticed that if you install the 64-bit version and then switch to the standard version, the add-on becomes obsolete or something like that. I wonder why that happens.

Enter this into the console, it should tell you what addon is doing it:
whereis lua\weapons\gmod_tool\stools\matproxy_tf2itempaint.lua

I don't have any others.

There shouldn't be a "bone merger compatibility" option at all, I removed it back in 2018. The only reason it'd still be there is if you have another addon replacing the tool's code.

I did not. But for some reason disabling bone merger compatability FIXED it lol

Yeah, something is very wrong with this mod, and it's counterpart. whenever I have it installed, certain map textures turn completely black, like the the bread eggs and tentacles on PL_Breadspace. and I know it's this mod, because I have spent literal hours test for conflicts and this is the only one. Please help, because this addon is invaluable to poster makers like me.

@(s)no(w) loafing, Nope. Weirdly enough, didn't work even when I disabled all my addons. Does it not work with the stock assets that come with GMod after downloading TF2?

Do you have any other addons that interact with TF2 hat painting at all? There was another user here who had the same issue, and it turned out to be a TF2 cosmetics framework with its own hat painting code that conflicted with this one. That addon was fixed, but anything else could have the same problem.

Simply doesn't work. Props, cosmetics, nothing can be repainted. The only thing that works is the crit glows.

Halloween spells should be in the list of color categories at the bottom. If they're not there, try making sure you don't have any other addons replacing the same tool, like that "2.0" reupload.

For some reason, mine is working fine, it just doesn't have the Halloween Spells as an option. (Unless I'm just not seeing it)

the textures for the sparks and drips require tf2

I'm currently experiencing a problem with the critglow addon.. everytime i apply the sparks to a ragdoll they dont appear. And if i apply drips to any ragdoll the drips turn into small errors covering the ragdoll.. How do i fix this??

I don't know what add-on is preventing me from painting hats.

Does the add-on that is causing the issue supposed to be related to TF2 hats/cosmetics?

Did you figure out which one specifically was causing the problem? It could help out other people who've had the same problem.

It worked btw I just removed some addons the deleted ones and fixing errors so thanks for the help.

I can't reproduce the problem on my end, so there's a good chance it's conflicting with another addon. Try disabling all other addons except this one, and see if that fixes the problem.

the hat paint didnt work and when i load a tf2 dupe the paint was all gone can you fix it please

I also have a problem with modification, just like others, I can't paint.

It doesn't have to be something recent, it could be an old addon that's only conflicting after the update. Maybe some other TF2 addon could be overriding the hat painting code for its own use, and it's not working any more after the update changed it?

Nope, I deleted the recent addons that I downloaded and I still have the issue
