I checked the file and for some reason I was getting version map version labelled 1.8 rather than 2.0 on file. This might not be the reason the dominion borders weren't working, it could be a recent update for instance.
A lot of work went into this map, but the start locations ruin it for me.

Sorry but the misshapped borders really make the game hard to feel immersive (for a dominions game)
Also the map itself doesn't have any visual links on where the extra areas (the circles) link to. Having to click on each location indiviually to determent where they lead to isn't really fun.
It is really just some lack of quality of life issues for this map.
This map would be great if the issues can be fixed.
Thanks again for making this map.
As for the black shadow, that's just what your dominion looks like on this map.
I noticed something weird when making a SP game with the max number of thrones. There seems to be huge number of thrones that are created inside the cave network. Is this intended?
Also is the straight line black/shadow borders a bug from the game?
I'm not sure how difficult it would be to edit Ashdale over to its proper position though, because whilst I can do the photoshopping part I have no idea how the Dominions map editor works.
I hope you can do the winter map part. Otherwise, I'm not a fan of the red frontiers : maybe light brown could be better?
Anyway : keep up the good work.
one capital bordering two-three thrones is serious business
