I know EXACLTY what happened to the rest of the metal, it melted during the process!

Subbed!

I wish gold/silver ingots were smaller, with an addition of gold and silver bars the size shown in the game and weighted heavier, and made from ingots (maybe 10 ingots = 1 bar).

I've wanted this gem and material separation, thank you.

Much better and less waste of gold and silver ignots. Thanx for having a brain.

@TechWolf20

I try not to edit the rings, as I know other mods edit the rings. I know your feeling and I wish I could make it as realistically balanced as possible, but I'm sure other modders would complain about ring overwrites.

@Cancer Spiderman

Thank you good sir!
saaxon 20 Nov, 2014 @ 5:54am
Thank you good sir, for being an educated gentleman, and for being someone else who noticed that shit with the rings. I noticed it one day and it annoyed me so much.
TechWolf20 19 Nov, 2014 @ 5:12pm
great mod, but theres still the size difference, I would probably change the recipy to 10 rings per ingot & the weight to 0.1 fuck the price difference.
Lukek2012-Monks- 11 Nov, 2014 @ 7:54am
math is fun
flux  [author] 18 Jan, 2014 @ 6:12pm
Ok I became holy.
Allie 28 Oct, 2013 @ 6:14am
"maths" is what those silly europeans call the Unholy Nightmare :-P
flux  [author] 10 Oct, 2013 @ 6:25pm
Easy peezy. You got to be unholy yourself!
Camus Moo 10 Oct, 2013 @ 2:46pm
honestly i dont understand why people would ever say maths instead of math. How on earth can you deal with multiple of the unholy things???
flux  [author] 16 Jun, 2013 @ 3:26pm
There is my friend! SkyUI shows two decimal places.
kaenneth 16 Jun, 2013 @ 12:34pm
Need a mod that shows weights to 2 places.
flux  [author] 10 Apr, 2013 @ 4:01pm
Don't forget to rate, guys!

MAth¡¡¡ i hate MATH
flux  [author] 9 Apr, 2013 @ 3:15pm
Yeah, I tend to avoid commenting on stuff. Usually the bad things happen on the FO3 or Oblivion Nexus parts.
flux  [author] 9 Apr, 2013 @ 3:14pm
Apo 9 Apr, 2013 @ 3:06pm
Hmm... I haven't encountered that sort of corruption over there, but then again I don't usually comment on much of anything...

Regardless, I must say I appreciate your open-mindedness and willingness to appease your audience in spite of your distaste(?) for the Nexus.

Thank you, and I look forward to download and using this mod. :) Thumbs-ups and faves all around!
flux  [author] 9 Apr, 2013 @ 2:54pm
Well, both sites aren't perfect. But here you can speak about mods more freely.

For example, if I had it in good with the Nexus moderators, then Vichen would probably be banned for flaming or something silly.

But workshop is where all kinds of mods can be uploaded except for AO mods. Which means low-quality mods can run rampant. Really, mod sites are a "pick your poison" kind of choice.

BTW I will be uploading this to nexus soon.
Apo 9 Apr, 2013 @ 1:53pm
Iffy? I'd say that about the workshop! xD

The reason I ask is because Steam auto-updates your installed mods, which can mess up your game in various nasty ways.
flux  [author] 9 Apr, 2013 @ 1:34pm
I dunno. Nexus is a bit... iffy at best.
Apo 9 Apr, 2013 @ 1:30pm
Oh, um, have you thought about hosting this on the Nexus? ^u^;
Apo 9 Apr, 2013 @ 1:29pm
Did you really need a math lesson to tell us how Skyrim shows item weights? :) Prolly coulda just linked to UESP and saved yourself the finger strain.

Either way, great idea for a mod. Thanks!

@Dancer

Too bad for your calculus teacher - I like rain. *insert grumpy cat face*
PortedOasis 6 Apr, 2013 @ 1:28pm
Excellent mod. Now I can convert my wealth into valuable treasure with even more accuracy.

In all honesty though, the entirety of Skyrim's crafting system needs an overhaul, and I'm glad to see someone taking the time.
flux  [author] 6 Apr, 2013 @ 1:16pm
No problem man, I just want to contribute to the community. I might make an optional file for your suggestion, though.
VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon 6 Apr, 2013 @ 12:03pm
I still think 4 rings is too much. The default two rings, or a increase of it to 3 rings, would be better. No different than if amulets crafted went from 1 to 3. It isn't just impossible in both fantasy and real life because you would need more metal (unless metal magically appears out of nowhere all the time). Anyways, maybe I'm just complaining. I should actually be happy that this mod makes it possible to more easily create jewelry an more easily level up my smithing skill. I will say, thanks for making this so that I don't have to. You certainly have helped me and other people in the community by doing these simple changes for us.
flux  [author] 6 Apr, 2013 @ 11:56am
maybe 10%
flux  [author] 6 Apr, 2013 @ 11:56am
And, really. It's a game. There's no need for super realism at this point. It's just to make it fun.

Plus the fact that I don't think that jewelers IRL would use 50% of their valuable rare resources to correct material imperfections.

flux  [author] 6 Apr, 2013 @ 11:52am
But you're thinking of actual realistic terms of smithing objects IRL,. My mod actually tries to balance the weight of the objects. If I wanted to go that meticulous with the making of jewelry, I would.

This mod is to make it logical face-value wise.
VinchenzoTheJackal & Shoon 6 Apr, 2013 @ 11:27am
Well, to be honest, whenever you use metal to make something, you always use more metal than is in the actual object IRL. This is because of various reasons, but the most logical one involves the fact that when you melt down ore much of the ore is actually excess impure material, and after that material is gone, you have to deal with that of the metal you use there is a small amount of metal that is useless excess, and while over the ages this useless excess has been given purposes, for example, excess from making iron products is actually used as a catalyst in the steel producing crafts, which means using garbage for useful purposes has worth, well, I'm talking too much.
I'm just saying, in the end, the mod is unrealistic in the ingots used to craft base amulets and rings parts. You shouldn't be getting this many of the item. It's just plain logic and common sense. And science.

As my good ol calculus teacher has been telling us. A day without math is a day without sunshine.
flux  [author] 5 Apr, 2013 @ 3:43pm
Nope. I just over-think it when it comes to math. It's my best subject.
Tylorova 5 Apr, 2013 @ 9:58am
@Clark Math teacher giving you too much homework? =]
Vandius 5 Apr, 2013 @ 7:44am
@Jardenon, Sorry but D&D uses pounds and ounces and other normal weight measurements. and so do the elder scrolls. So it would be .25 lbs. Which, by the way, has always been the reason that there is a mod to redo weight within a couple weeks of each games tool release. find it hard that a necklace of silver weighs as much as a full hamburger. :)
flux  [author] 4 Apr, 2013 @ 6:35pm
Done.
flux  [author] 4 Apr, 2013 @ 1:20pm
Oh, and Fairlane, I don't think they specified weight in the 3D Fallouts.
flux  [author] 4 Apr, 2013 @ 1:20pm
Well crud. Looks like homework and school got me tied up ATM. I won't be able to update the description until the weekend.
Jardenon 4 Apr, 2013 @ 10:17am
I go by D&D. they use a gold piece as weight.
Fairlane Fox 4 Apr, 2013 @ 12:46am
i would say its prolly kilo's... werent bethesda using kilo's in the Fallout 3/NV games?
Greed 3 Apr, 2013 @ 5:51am
What´s the "y" for in your formula? y stands for "total weight", doesn´t it? You could write it like a one-way function, too: T_w (x) = 20 * x_w
x is the difference in weight you recordet by putting the rings up seperatly
20 is the number of rings considered here
w is the chosen measurement of weight
_w means that the funktion depends on this measurement of weight

...

tell me, if something is wrong in my explanation!
Greed 3 Apr, 2013 @ 5:39am
LOL! I like the maths explanation! thumbs up! it´s true, that the measurement of weight isn´t to obvious, but I guess, It´s kilogramm oder pounds. ... but carrying 300kg or pounds isn´t to logical either... ok, do not talk about logik in a fantasy game^^ but one can at least try to make it realistic in some way!^^

Great Idea for a mod!

But let´s go on thinking... you have one kilo gold ingot. ... and a real gold ring weighs maximum 0,025kg... then you have to get 40 rings out of one kilo Gold ingot... does that sound too overpowered for the game?

you could add a few things in your description, what the mod actually does to the number of gainable rings and crafting needs...

bye^^

I wasn't perpared for the maths!
flux  [author] 30 Mar, 2013 @ 2:55pm
