Technically right, a plane does make lift without the endinge, Just due to the fact that It's not 100% efficient, it will slowly fall to the ground. The main difference between a glider and a plane is that a glider is desinged to, well, glide, and a plane, while it always "glides" and can glide, is desinged to have an engine to work.
