its called a supergrid. you gotta have that enabled. other than that, you make a blueprint, and at gridsize you just replace large with small. boom. And, I am so happy you like the ship! I worked so much with it, every comment about every room makes me happy :3

The very meaning of these builds is that you can create something amazing without mods. or DLCs. so whenever i have time i will update them

When will you update this to have a working entrance? If your willing to do mods I recommend the advanced doors modpack

I greeble a little, though I prefer the look of a sleek plated ship, but occasionally I will add bits and bobs, though I'll usually give them a roleplay purpose. Sensor cluster, hull reinforcements, areas marked for possible expansion. As I was writing this I started to think that those aft merge blocks could be used with a detatchable warp ring, that would help farther cement orion as a deep space exploration vessel. May i ask why you designed the ship with the real engineering section on the hull rather than inside her, was it a space issue, or did you prefer the look. I like the look of it myself, reminds me a lot of klingon engineering sections.

is there an intended purpose for the merge blocks on the aft and next to the fore dorsal connector, or are they just greebling?

Absoloutley love it. I'm a big fan of the ALIEN series and I can see where the inspiration comes from, the ship practically screams 80's retrofutre at me so please keep at the style. My interest is definitley peaked.

Because there are no doors for small grids, and if i were to build they would take up so much space that I couldn`t make a proper interior

I really love the concept "Small Grids Gone Big"! The small grid gives you tons of possibilities totally unthinkable with the large grid. Look at a Passenger Seat and an Interior Light. If you have an interior limited to 1 large block tall and you place a Passenger Seat. Then the Interior Light won't f%&#ing fit above the Passenger Seat even if those blocks don't even touch if placed in the same cube space.

Keen won’t add small ship doors or windows, as they didn’t intend small grids to have pressurised interiors (they’ve made their position clear on this)

Great ship, however the origin is off. Orion is actually the name of a constellation [en.wikipedia.org], which in turn was named after a demigod [en.wikipedia.org] in greek mythology.

Luna 33 is a bit smaller, and it has 1 floor only. It was built for detailed interior-exterior combo, however The Orion was mainly built to test the capabilities with interior designs.
