an it does work
The mod I had been using to acquire tea was for vanilla, but having finally purchased G&K recently I have lost tea now.
I haven't seen these resources (commodities from mercantile CSs either).
@panzer.tc: Mercantile Resources (those given by Mercantile CSs) cannot be placed normally on the map; I wasn't able to place Jewelry last I tried. What mod were you using to get tea? Most probably, this mod's tea overwrites the other, so you lose the ability to place tea.
I don't know why, I have tried to figure it out, but since I have upwards of 70 mods in use in any one game I don't have time to go through compatibility testing. :-)
All of my other mods play nicely enough with each other such that I enjoy their use and my game doesn't crash.
However, when I use the mod More Mercantile, I cannot place tea resources on the map any longer.
Can we get a mod that just adds coffee resources to the game, this would also require new buildings like coffee roasting company, and coffee shops (NOT starbucks).
We have wine resources, why not coffee or even beer...
Help
@mrkadoodle: These are Mercantile resources; gifted by Mercantile City States; for comparision, the 2 resources gifted by them in the unmodded game are Porcelein and Jewelry (Neither of which can be directly mined from the ground).
Don't worry man, the summer sale is coming...
You do know this mod adds resources to the Mercantile city-states right? Currently, the Mercantile city-staes give either Jewelry or Porcelain, neither of which are a resource or labor. Things like furniture and glass fit exactly into the type of resources the mercantile city-states give and don't ruin the nature at all.
I agree his list is off a bit, however;
-Glass does NOT need industry equipment. Egyptians created clear glass sometime between 200BC-50BC. Stained glass existed way before clear glass, and was mostly produced by the Carthaginian Empire (in europe, anyways).
-Artifacts could bring value and culture to museums. Prior to 1800s, artifacts were largely deemed useless unless they were made of precious metals, or bore extreme cultural/sentimental value. The romans actually used to tear down buildings they considered 'old' which, by todays standard, would have been considered works of art.
-Cigars were produced before cigarettes (cigarette is French for "small cigar"). Unlick cigarettes, however, Cigars are made purely from tobacco. Or supposed to, anyways.
On your other comments you are totally correct.
In my opion your list ruins the true nature of the game
Chocolate = coco + salt + sugar + cows ... it is not a reasource
Tea = correct (labor+crop)
Manuscripts = So wrong the steps to make it are in the 100s
Furniture = Wrong
Glass = wrong ( refined sand, refined minerals, refine fuels, industy equipement)
Cigars = tobacco right... cigars wrong
Artifacts = foolishly wrong
Paintings = foolishly wrong
Coffee = right
Gracias.
