Venusaisha 28 Oct, 2015 @ 3:44pm

Venusaisha 25 Oct, 2015 @ 3:10am
the only question dose More City-States Luxuries work with More Mercantile Mod or no?
Parker Posey's Mouth 13 Jan, 2015 @ 1:26am
It's always baffled me that some of these weren't included to begin with. I mean the cultural, political, and economic rammifications of Tea, Coffee, Chocolate and Tobbacco were huge! The world wouldn't be what it is today without them!

@Swattw: 当然可以。

is this compatible with more luxeries mod
panzer.tc 16 Aug, 2013 @ 12:03pm
I am sorry for the confusion, I am using G&K but have recently corrected my own problem by disabling More Merchantile Mod - voila I can place coffee as a regular resource. I completely misread your mod, thinking those resources were for placement on the map that civ's could take advantage of.

The mod I had been using to acquire tea was for vanilla, but having finally purchased G&K recently I have lost tea now.

I haven't seen these resources (commodities from mercantile CSs either).
sukritact  [author] 16 Aug, 2013 @ 11:11am
@panzer.tc: Note that these are Mercantile Resources, not regular luxury resources like Sugar or Wine.
sukritact  [author] 16 Aug, 2013 @ 11:09am
@sabertooth: This mod requires Mercantile CSs, as far as I know, Vanilla has no acces to them, so no.

@panzer.tc: Mercantile Resources (those given by Mercantile CSs) cannot be placed normally on the map; I wasn't able to place Jewelry last I tried. What mod were you using to get tea? Most probably, this mod's tea overwrites the other, so you lose the ability to place tea.
panzer.tc 16 Aug, 2013 @ 6:16am
I have been using various mods, like More Mercantile Mod (v 1), for adding resources but the mods will not allow me to place coffee resources on the map in the manner of other resources.
I don't know why, I have tried to figure it out, but since I have upwards of 70 mods in use in any one game I don't have time to go through compatibility testing. :-)
All of my other mods play nicely enough with each other such that I enjoy their use and my game doesn't crash.

However, when I use the mod More Mercantile, I cannot place tea resources on the map any longer.

Can we get a mod that just adds coffee resources to the game, this would also require new buildings like coffee roasting company, and coffee shops (NOT starbucks).
We have wine resources, why not coffee or even beer...

panzer.tc 15 Aug, 2013 @ 7:57pm
None of these items show up for me, I had tea before but with this mod I can't even place tea.
Help

is this mod vanilla
Kadoodle 31 Jul, 2013 @ 1:55am
oh thaks for letting me know
sukritact  [author] 30 Jul, 2013 @ 5:24pm
@Epicazeroth: yes, this mod is BNW compatible.

@mrkadoodle: These are Mercantile resources; gifted by Mercantile City States; for comparision, the 2 resources gifted by them in the unmodded game are Porcelein and Jewelry (Neither of which can be directly mined from the ground).

Kadoodle 30 Jul, 2013 @ 1:35pm
why furniture? do you have to mine it out of the ground.
Epicazeroth 26 Jul, 2013 @ 10:12am
Is it BNW-compatible?
SilverHead 23 Jul, 2013 @ 5:40am
Very interesting. Should be added in the base game as historically different cultured city states were usually reconised for exporting different things than other cultures. Not always the same 3 luxuries like in the base game.
sukritact  [author] 19 Jul, 2013 @ 6:18am
@Geldoon; Glad you like it; yes this mod adds to the resources that the CSs will provide, though normally there still will be some redundancy; very rarely will you ever encounter more than 3 different types of merc luxes in the game (on standard maps).
geldoon 18 Jul, 2013 @ 10:05am
I think it's even better since they changed the way the mercantile happiness works, it means that a third merc cs may not be redundent.
geldoon 18 Jul, 2013 @ 10:01am
Correct me if I'm wrong but these 'resources' are meant to add to the special resources provided by mercantile city states right? If so I do not understand mrktusco's gripe. Are most of them manufactered goods? Yes, just like 'jewelry' and 'porcelain'. They may not be natural resources but they are resources non the less. Besides if you don't like it don't use it. There's no need to be rude.
buzzshiza 16 Jul, 2013 @ 3:37pm
This still works great with BNW! I know you said you probably wouldn't add new resources, but if you ever change your mind... :D
itssPabloYo 11 Apr, 2013 @ 6:12am
great mod

@wgreen84
Don't worry man, the summer sale is coming...
BimboLiqueur 8 Apr, 2013 @ 3:45pm
It kinda sucks for ppl that can't afford the Gods and Kings DLC. Like I rarely see Mods for just Civ 5. I wish I could find a good mod for Vanilla Civ 5.
buzzshiza 5 Apr, 2013 @ 9:25am
Fantastic work here, sukritact, thx 4 adding these flavors!
sukritact  [author] 5 Apr, 2013 @ 1:14am
@mrktucso: If you feel the resources break the "nature of the game" you can disable the resources you don't like by deleting the appropriate XML files (located in Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS\More Mercantile Mod (v 1)\XML\Terrain) or not use this mod.
matthew.mcandrews 4 Apr, 2013 @ 10:27am
hi, i have a moc book and i have all this subsciptions and do not know how to download them. can some one please walk me threw the steps???

DrakenX999 3 Apr, 2013 @ 12:50pm
@mrktucson

You do know this mod adds resources to the Mercantile city-states right? Currently, the Mercantile city-staes give either Jewelry or Porcelain, neither of which are a resource or labor. Things like furniture and glass fit exactly into the type of resources the mercantile city-states give and don't ruin the nature at all.
End-of-Infinity 3 Apr, 2013 @ 12:30pm
@ mrktucson
I agree his list is off a bit, however;
-Glass does NOT need industry equipment. Egyptians created clear glass sometime between 200BC-50BC. Stained glass existed way before clear glass, and was mostly produced by the Carthaginian Empire (in europe, anyways).
-Artifacts could bring value and culture to museums. Prior to 1800s, artifacts were largely deemed useless unless they were made of precious metals, or bore extreme cultural/sentimental value. The romans actually used to tear down buildings they considered 'old' which, by todays standard, would have been considered works of art.
-Cigars were produced before cigarettes (cigarette is French for "small cigar"). Unlick cigarettes, however, Cigars are made purely from tobacco. Or supposed to, anyways.

On your other comments you are totally correct.
Doctor G 2 Apr, 2013 @ 8:12pm
i am sorry but your reasources are crap... majority of them like Furniture is a lux item and not a resource or labor .

In my opion your list ruins the true nature of the game

Chocolate = coco + salt + sugar + cows ... it is not a reasource
Tea = correct (labor+crop)
Manuscripts = So wrong the steps to make it are in the 100s
Furniture = Wrong
Glass = wrong ( refined sand, refined minerals, refine fuels, industy equipement)
Cigars = tobacco right... cigars wrong
Artifacts = foolishly wrong
Paintings = foolishly wrong
Coffee = right

Pollux-34 2 Apr, 2013 @ 1:23pm
Steam updated itself today and now this mod seems to be broken. It's gone on my PC and I can't re-download it, making my savegame unusable.
friendly_manatee 2 Apr, 2013 @ 9:24am
can't subscribe to any mods anymore!
DJW 2 Apr, 2013 @ 7:29am
lol, people on the internet are terrible. Ignore them and make mods. :)
sukritact  [author] 2 Apr, 2013 @ 2:30am
Just so people know, I will most likely, not be adding any new resources anytime soon.
