Use the updated version.
thedreadpirateroberts 6 jun, 2018 @ 10:43
The ban doesn't seem to be working for egalitarian factions; when I ban egalitarian factions, the ban automatically lifts a few months later.
Doctor Proteus 2 jun, 2018 @ 6:41
@easte Odd, it's working fine for me. I banned the Xenophobe faction and have had no problems.
ElusiveSausage 1 jun, 2018 @ 9:58
*thumbs up*
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 1 jun, 2018 @ 9:39
Glad we cleared that up.
ElusiveSausage 1 jun, 2018 @ 9:17
Sure your version is more polite but you still overreacted to mine if you thought I was 'assuming you were an idiot'.
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 1 jun, 2018 @ 1:31
"How much is the ongoing influence pentalty? I am concerned that it will out-weigh the benefit of pops moving to another faction." <- Compare. This would indicate that you've read the blurb but not tried the mod and had a legitimate enquiry as to how the mod functioned before using it. You, however, made me feel like I was sucking an egg.
ElusiveSausage 31 maj, 2018 @ 16:48
No, I wasn't. I said that to give context to why I was asking my question, not because I thought you didn't know it.
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 31 maj, 2018 @ 15:13
"The main point of supressing factions and promoting other ones is so that a larger percentage of your population is under a happy faction so that you gain MORE influence." Yes, you were.
ElusiveSausage 31 maj, 2018 @ 15:06
Bloody hell, you don't have to be such an asshole about it. I wasn't assuming you were an idiot at all.
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 31 maj, 2018 @ 14:08
Because it wouldn't work with 2.0.
Deskcar 31 maj, 2018 @ 12:20
Why did you upload a new mod for the update?
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 31 maj, 2018 @ 11:28
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 31 maj, 2018 @ 8:11
Banning a faction also includes a high probability of members of the ex-faction changing ethics and switching to another faction immediately. You'd know that, if you'd tried the mod before assuming that I'm an idiot and didn't consider that.
ElusiveSausage 31 maj, 2018 @ 7:48

easte 30 maj, 2018 @ 6:48
@Evil_Lord_Proteus I tried and can only suppress now, not ban :(
Doctor Proteus 28 maj, 2018 @ 13:05
I'm using it right now and it's working.
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 28 maj, 2018 @ 12:23
Asking won't make it happen more quickly.
Sgt Stoner 28 maj, 2018 @ 11:27
update please
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 24 maj, 2018 @ 10:09
This will probably need an update for 2.1. It's also lacking a lot of recent improvements made in AlphaMod I'd like to pull in.
Doctor Proteus 24 maj, 2018 @ 9:55
Haven't tested yet, but does anyone know if this mod still works with 2.1? My save I was palying when the patch hit became unusable.
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 3 maj, 2018 @ 1:45
Yes. Suppress first.
TheTraitor 2 maj, 2018 @ 23:43
How do you activate the ban?
In the factions menu, where you can suppress/promote the factions?
Touch Fluffy Tail 29 apr, 2018 @ 11:22
Thank you for providing the means to fight the evil conspirators.
OFF WITH THE UNBELIEVERS!
Shadows-Forgotten 31 mar, 2018 @ 20:04
@Rax Savvage The Star Trek New Horizons team advices against using mods other than theirs as their mod is a total conversion mod and heavily changes everything in the game
< blank > 29 mar, 2018 @ 14:24
So... I can finally ban illegal aliens with this?
ODSTbag337 29 mar, 2018 @ 11:49
Orbital Banhammer launch detected. Leave the faction before it takes you with it!
Rax Savvage 29 mar, 2018 @ 7:27
surpressing factions largely did nothing for me
this work for ST:NH ?
Ronin16 29 mar, 2018 @ 7:25
This is great, thank you so much for making it!
Otto Von Skidmark 29 mar, 2018 @ 6:13
@Quark: Why would you ever do that?
Jair F. Kennedy 29 mar, 2018 @ 4:38
Finally now I'll be able to eliminate the 'Terran First Organisation' once and for all! :steamhappy:
Ball-Stabbing Emmanuel McCoy 28 mar, 2018 @ 13:52
I feel like the penalty should be a bit more. Maybe banning a faction with a large amount of public support (more than 20% or so) would have direct consequences like generating a lot of unrest.
Endugu 28 mar, 2018 @ 11:25
Would it be possible to stop the player from being able to bann a faction if it is lead by the nation leader and the nation is dictatorial or imperial?
LordZ 28 mar, 2018 @ 6:53
so needed this, and it makes total sense if you are a ruler of an empire =p
Deviant 28 mar, 2018 @ 1:41
Thanks for the translation:steammocking:

I suggest having each of a randomised number of the pops loyal to the banned faction also produce a random small amount of unrest in addition to the happiness penalty? But having that extra unrest potentially decay over time if there's no rebellion in order to model demoralisation & burnout
XDemonR 27 mar, 2018 @ 12:17
It's my pleasure, sir
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 27 mar, 2018 @ 12:15
Excellent! Thank you sir.
XDemonR 27 mar, 2018 @ 12:13

"Members of a faction that is banned will suffer a -50% happiness penalty for two years..." This can result in unrest.
Estel 27 mar, 2018 @ 10:19
how about making unrest penalty per banned ethos? I think 5% of unrest is fair because there will be dark society of banned ethos. Or reducing unrest also makes sense, because enoughly advanced empire can make banned ethos not to arise agane so can make more unified society.
Katsu 27 mar, 2018 @ 8:57
I guess that's a no then. Thanks for the quick answer, though!
AlphaAsh  [skapare] 27 mar, 2018 @ 8:47

Katsu 27 mar, 2018 @ 8:38
This is an interesting idea, though it goes a bit far in terms of just brainwashing all Pops of the banned faction into a different Ethos...

Any chance for a version of the mod where Pops of a suppressed Ethos receive a big Happiness modifier (potentially kicking a planet into Unrest) that lasts until you manage to convert them normally? And maybe with an added Egalitarian Faction demand concerning the political freedoms of banned parties (ideally valued differently depending on who is being suppressed).
Masterdude94 26 mar, 2018 @ 21:43
Anyone know if this works for the Star Trek New Horizons mod? I really need the Federation to lose its Pacifism!
cniht 26 mar, 2018 @ 19:30
@explodochamp Benevolent dictatorship ftw. Of course the dictator always deems what is Benevolent and what is not. :D
explodoboy 26 mar, 2018 @ 18:05
Fuck you Authoritarians! You need to accept Egalitarianism instead so I can get rid of this damn dictatorship!
Seal 26 mar, 2018 @ 17:14
I need this, I always wanted to be a reddit moderator
Doctor Proteus 26 mar, 2018 @ 15:43
Time for the Spritualist faction to get the fuck out for good.
