Banned! (2.0)

Description
When suppressing a faction just ain't good enough.

Very straightforward mod that allows you to take suppressing a faction one step further.

Banning a faction will effectively eliminate it, but will land your empire with an influence penalty, as well as a guarentee that no-one is going to be re-forming that faction unless the ban is lifted.

Bans are lifted with empire edicts. This costs Influence, to counter the exploit of banning a faction to kill it and then immediately lifting the ban.

Members of a faction that is banned will suffer a -50% happiness penalty for two years and are very likely to re-evalute their ethics.

You cannot ban a faction that is based on your empire ethos. For example, if your empire is fanatic militarist/xenophobe, you cannot ban militarist or xenophobe factions.

COMPATIBILITY
Included in AlphaMod. Do not use if you use AlphaMod.
All the vanilla faction files are modded, so this won't be compatible with other faction mods.
Built against Stellaris v2.0.1.
Probably best not to use with an existing save-game. Might break it.

2.1 version is here: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1399399885

Use the updated version.

The ban doesn't seem to be working for egalitarian factions; when I ban egalitarian factions, the ban automatically lifts a few months later.

@easte Odd, it's working fine for me. I banned the Xenophobe faction and have had no problems.

*thumbs up*

Glad we cleared that up.

Sure your version is more polite but you still overreacted to mine if you thought I was 'assuming you were an idiot'.

"How much is the ongoing influence pentalty? I am concerned that it will out-weigh the benefit of pops moving to another faction." <- Compare. This would indicate that you've read the blurb but not tried the mod and had a legitimate enquiry as to how the mod functioned before using it. You, however, made me feel like I was sucking an egg.

No, I wasn't. I said that to give context to why I was asking my question, not because I thought you didn't know it.

"The main point of supressing factions and promoting other ones is so that a larger percentage of your population is under a happy faction so that you gain MORE influence." Yes, you were.
