Updated for new game version

This is a fantastic mod. Hoping the creator revisits to make it work with the new Update.

Not anymore. Today the new Below & Beyond Update, killed this, and many other Mods. Just have to wait for an update. This one is listed as "Incompatible"

I made this mod when Surviving Mars was released. I can't remember to be honest.

k thanks, I'll fiddle a bit and see if I can block it somehow. Is 30k the max you've been able to let it zoom out?

@Indifferent That is in the game core. This mod simply changes the distance allowed for zoom in and out.

Do you know if there's a way to simply stop the automatic transition to map when zoomed out max? I prefer to use the M key for that, so I can freely zoom in and out to move around the map quickly.

This mod literally changes the zoom value. nothing else. There are no special effects or textures affected by this mod or vice versa No update should break this mod unless they remove the ability to update the zoom value or put a limit on what the zoom value is allowed to be.

Sounds more like a driver issue to me.

Can any one confirm a recent update broke this mod? When ever I zoom (in or out) the textures disappear.

I can't overstate how fantastic this mod is. From the first minute I started playing SM, the bizarre default zoom distance and the jarring "jump" in and out of full map view drove me nuts. One second into the game after installing your mod and it's like YES! Perfect.

And it is amazing. I basically wept with joy the first time I zoomed out AND I COULD ACTUALLY SEE what I had been trying to get a feel for the size of.

No it’s not that wide. And it’s pretty difficult to screw up a preview image so this has to be a bug in the game itself.

I don't know; I'm assuming that preview.jpg is not actually 22864 pixels wide. I deleted this mod and everything worked properly after.

Also. Please note that the error that you are posting is of the preview image that is displayed in the mod manager. Not in game.

How can the mod cause you problems when it is not enabled?? If it’s not enabled then it is not loaded in to the game at all. If this mod was the problem then thousands of other people would have problems with their game as well.

@RePo I tested the mod with a save game and a new game and it's working fine.

@XxUnkn0wnxX If this was an issue with this mod, it would be affecting 17498 other subscribers too.

this strange, the issue only occurs when loading a save while in full screen mode, but when loading from window mode, zoom distance is increased.. can go back to full screen and still works but if save is reloaded issue occurs again while in full screen. (this only effects old saves)

for some reason with my previous saves the better zoom is giving me a springing issue as I try to zoom out it springs back to the games original zoom. no issues with new saves just my old one I spent countless hours into!!!.....

They increased the zoom in the base game, but I like to be able to zoom way further than that, so I'll continue using this mod. Thanks!

Thanks for your work, no doubt it had an impact in the Spirit update camera changes.

The Spirit patch notes say that they have implemented a better zoom distance, but it might not be as far as what this mod allows.

Well. If it is then my work here is done. Every Modder loves to see their work implemented in to the actual game by the devs. So if they have implemented a better zoom that players prefer then I’m ecstatic!!! 😁

The limited zoom on the map was my only negitive thing I could say about the game, this MOD sorts all of that and you can really zoom out properly so you can see whats going on! Amazing job
