Is there any config that makes these buildable one at a time? Using CI and would fit in better that way
pipiship 10.4. klo 18.48
@Sneezy Sorry for the super late reply. Just saw this, I did get it working but to tell the truth I'm not sure how. I am no longer using AML since the new launcher update. maybe that has something to do with it.
Sneezy 24.9.2024 klo 3.57
@pipiship by any chance, were you able to fix that issue? I can't seem to make this mod works back to WOTC after trying out LWOTC
pipiship 12.8.2023 klo 7.27
Deleted this mod for a LWOTC play through as it’s not needed there. Now back to the base game of WOTC I subscribed again but it no longer works in game. Any suggestions? Using AML.
chantzofdeth 27.5.2023 klo 15.39
In the LWOTC mod does anyone know where the configuration for the platings are? I am trying to revert the changes to make it compatible with tesla rages armor upgrades mod.
zin 10.4.2023 klo 5.26
@MrViciao I know this comment is five years old, but thank you so much!

For anyone curious, to use these in vest slots added by mods that add vest slots, change the item type from ‘plating’ to ‘defense’ (not ‘vest’ like I tried at first).
zin 9.4.2023 klo 8.43
Love the mod, but I’d love an option to make it so that the ceramic vest is not available in infinite quantities to all soldiers – but rather, has to be purchased.
zin 19.3.2023 klo 22.55
@Quadsons Use Alternative Mod Launcher.
Quadson 11.11.2022 klo 18.48
Hey so i accidentally unsubscribed from the mod and updated my mod manager and turns out i needed it so i subbed back and now it wont show in my mod manger when i update can someone help me please
CaptainKampfkeks 26.11.2021 klo 0.17
Yes. Long War 2.
Killer 5.10.2021 klo 7.53
is there a vanilla version?
XpanD 27.8.2021 klo 7.24
Just finished a campaign with about 280 mods, this one included, and had no major issues! Thanks for putting this up, these were incredibly useful.
Dęąth Viper 24.8.2021 klo 18.29
is there a way to make plating buildable and not infinite?
Captain Obvious 26.2.2021 klo 23.32
Is this thread dead?
I want to add mobility, fortress, mind-shield, aim, and shields to this. Anyone know how to do that?
Basically, I want to make it the equivalent of "cheat vest" for normal xcom2
Havoc Squad 15.5.2020 klo 8.21
any way to add Mobility to the stats granted by the various platings?
CaptainKampfkeks 11.5.2020 klo 8.57
Yes, it does. Check it out, it's still on the workshop.
Lampros 11.5.2020 klo 8.42
Whoah, looks overpowered. Does the LW mod present more difficult or numerous enemies? Just curious.
Dr. Bashir 2.5.2020 klo 8.03
Is there any way to add regen for this shields?
Dragon32 13.4.2020 klo 11.26
@robbiestrayer
Leave text in square brackets, like the below, as is.
[LW2WOTC_CeramicPlating X2EquipmentTemplate]

Change text like this:
FriendlyName="Ceramic Plating"
to
FriendlyName="Kevlar Plating"
Darth_Smuckleton 13.4.2020 klo 8.10
Yeah, that very well may be the case. I have very little experience messing with these things.
Dragon32 13.4.2020 klo 7.14
@Dragon32
That's fine. You're probably doing it wrong.
Darth_Smuckleton 13.4.2020 klo 6.57
Yeah, that didn't work. It still says Ceramic instead of Kevlar for the starting tier. Thanks for trying though.
Dragon32 12.4.2020 klo 12.51
@robbiestrayer
If you want to change the names displayed in-game then change the localisation files (usually XComGame.int for English)
Darth_Smuckleton 12.4.2020 klo 11.39
If I want to change the name of the vests to: Kevlar, Ceramic, Alloy, and Elerium; all I have to do is change the names in the .ini?
GargakOfTheEast 10.2.2020 klo 21.25
I really like this mod because it just makes the game a little more bearable. It got lame when enemies could get mega lucky and either kill or severely wound a good soldier. These ablative armor vests make it a little more difficult for them to get lucky.
Sniper677™ 17.9.2019 klo 7.00
Added an initial German translation as discussion topic above. It was compiled from original source of LW2 by Pavonis Interactive.
Flamingcheesepie 10.9.2019 klo 11.13
A shitty workaround involves changing cost/time to build them for free, but that still requires autopsies and the proving ground.
HULLO 16.5.2019 klo 18.41
@Stephen trying to figure that out also, guess you could just make them free in the .ini file to make them free as a workaround
Stephen 12.5.2019 klo 6.35
How to make the tier 1,2,3 be an unlimited improvement of the squad, and not the only copy (exactly like Ceramic Plating)?
FFloid 2.3.2019 klo 2.12
Hey, is there any way to make the ceramic plating a build-per-unit item, available from the start like the flashbang or medkit?
Rtma Eros Paragon 28.2.2019 klo 6.03
@fededyb
You need to find your workshop folder in steam, find whatever drive you have it on then follow the path Steam > steamapps > workshop > content > 268500 (I think that's the game's ID?) > 1318532978 > Config > XComWOTC_LW2_Plating.ini to adjust settings, personal preference I adjusted is I bumped up the plating of each tier to give some sense of progression, like 3 - 6 - 9 - 12 for example, Enjoy.
fededyb 1.2.2019 klo 11.04
HI I cannot find where is the configurable file for this, can some help? XComWOTC_LW2_Plating.in is nowhere to be found
BTAxis 8.1.2019 klo 13.38
I changed ITEM_CATEGORY to "vests", but in my running campaign this did not make a difference. Does it need a new game to take effect?
space is cool 4.1.2019 klo 16.05
could I config it so that alloy and ceramic can be used at the same time?\
t64 9.11.2018 klo 7.06
Thereis no foundry in wotc so how does this work in worc? Guerilla tacs? Proving ground?
Swanky 21.10.2018 klo 1.45
Is there a way I can either deactivate the ceramic plating or make it so I have to have an Advent Officer autopsy first?
CaptainKampfkeks 20.10.2018 klo 5.01
Ahh, I see. Thank you very much.
Dragon32 20.10.2018 klo 2.15
@CaptainKampfkeks:
XCOM 2's Workshop folder is 268500 and then this mod's folder is the same ID number as is in this page's URL (id=xxxx)
CaptainKampfkeks 13.10.2018 klo 6.08
Can somebody point me in the direction of the mod folder? I want to change the supply cost
MrViciao 6.10.2018 klo 8.49
For this mod to work with the vest slot mod, set 'ITEM_CATEGORY=defense' in the ini file
Schadenfreude 15.9.2018 klo 1.14
@Astral Descend
That's not a bug.
Astral Descend 23.7.2018 klo 6.07
Bug report: does not absorb fall damage
4rrakis 15.7.2018 klo 22.06
Yes, that is corrrect.
DERPKING1991 15.7.2018 klo 16.18
So it does work like the lw2? where you can have one of each on one person?
4rrakis 15.7.2018 klo 15.13
Not two vests, but one vest and one plating.
DERPKING1991 15.7.2018 klo 15.10
So will this work just like lw2 where you can have two vesf on a person?
darktroopmk3 12.7.2018 klo 6.57
great work though
darktroopmk3 12.7.2018 klo 6.56
need a vanilla version please, I do not have wotc. :steamsad:
CptB3RRY 8.7.2018 klo 17.27
@p6kocka
Any luck with getting it to work with the vest slot mod?
I tried setting 'ITEM_CATEGORY=vest' in the ini file but that didn't seem to do anything
p6kocka 2.7.2018 klo 1.32
@Favid
Does somebody know how to make it work with Vest slot mod?
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1293714688
It won´t recognize tis platings as vests.
