Yeah, you're right on that.
There's a risk of unbalancing the game if an item proposes new game mechanics. Also, VALVe seems to ignore weapon submissions. Probably because of what I already said. Maps are mostly ignored unless they are for an upcoming update.
I don't really expect this to be added if I'm honest. Cosmetics, unusual effects or even war paints have a higher chance of getting in.

"plate_donut" , the version seen when the donut is dropped with M2 has been changed.
I was also thinking of modelling the box as if it was slightly bent. Thoughts on that?

This is great , there are already 3 different lunch box items for the Heavy , they also added another lunch box item being the Second Banana and im not sure they would another , otherwise this is a great looking item and would make a great friendly hoovy item

Thanks for the feedback.
The box had no thickness since it was to avoid it from adding even more tris to the drop. It was created since the first iteration of it, which had around 1000 tris, so it is outdated.
Now that the donut itself has less tris I think it'll be reasonable to add some detail to the box. I'll update the box shortly. Thanks again for pointing it out.

The box could really use some thickness to fit the style more, everything else checks out :)

its interesting how the closer the item got to the tf2 style, the more optimized it becfame, too (it's probably just that the modeler got better, but it's still kinda cool)

The sprinkles are arranged so they look like the TF2 logo. So unnatural looking sprinkles were intended.
The donut's center was previously a perfect circle, as you can now see in the previous versions images. It's as it is right now since I personally felt it was "too perfect". And I wasn't the only one who thought that.

Also the blu team donut looks tastier heh
