FYI to anyone interested in this ship: It requires CPU extenders to properly function, and they aren't included in the BP. It needs at least 2 basic extenders if you're playing RE, I'm not sure about vanilla.

tl;dr it's not compatible with RE without modifications.

when i turn on the power it says its at 800% usage and overloads right away, very noob at the game and could use a tip if i am doing something wrong?

Quick thanks @jrandall for your hard work. This was my second official SV build, but it really changed my perspective of playing Empyrion. Been rolling around in space finally, even somewhat defending myself with this.

Do you mind recommending me one you think would do nicely for a level 21 player looking to be able to mine Zarcosium off a planet without being shot to crap by turrets? Like, I guess a mid-game "turret taker-outer" that doesn't use a whole lot of Zarcosium. I really need Zarcosium LOL

Thanks imwithdummy lol. I get it and no problem. This MX3 is so old now that I would actually build a new ship entirely to replace it. I learned a lot since making this one and the game has changed as well. The MX2 was updated a while back, but was not really meant to add/change CPU blocks to add more functionality. New designs in the starter/mid range are getting that now thou. Thanks again!

Hey so I really enjoy the hell out of this ship, but when I put in a CPU extender, nothing changed...the CPU cap remained the same and it stayed a tier two. I'm pretty new to the game, so am probably just missing something, but any idea what it might be?

I would love to see the main tab for your vehicles. I want to see how much fuel capacity and run time they have with full fuel.

Just to add for anyone else new to the game. The Cobalt is coming from the two constructors. If you load it into Creative, remove the constructors and save the blueprint it drops that cost.

Thanks for the reply jrandall! No worries, maybe I'll bring it in creative and check the tech tree to see if maybe it's thrusters or something. I just needed a little ship (not warp capable) to get to the moon and I wanted to just use your creations in this scenario.

@arcticsnowyt, Honestly IDK yet. It was built for alpha 7 and since then some stats changed. Well, alpha 7 had cobalt easy to get on the starting planets. Also, this ship was meant for low end basic tasks and doesn't have a warp drive. I know in my line up of SV's I have a big gap between the MX3 and MX8 currently. A low level easy to build warp capable SV is needed. I am planning on one in the near future. As in the cobalt needs for this ship, I will have to investigate that. It uses pretty low end parts so I am not sure yet. Thanks

First off, I love your creations....your Carapace and Cerberus are the only CV's I use. I was looking for a starter SV just to get me to the moon to mine some cobalt to make one of your larger SV's, but this starter one needs a few cobalt itself. It doesn't have a warp drive and I can't see any equipment that would require it either. I'm definitely NOT a builder so I was just wondering what in this build would require cobalt? Thanks!

Thanks mafioz69. When I first made it was meant to be pretty cheap and inexpensive also to unlock at player level 10. However after I made this, I made another version Merc-MX3R which switches the ship to hardened steel, more RCS, higher tear thrusters and a few other changes. You may want to take a look at this version as well. You will see it in my workshop or collection, link at top of post. Thanks again!

Nice Design, i did my own modification of the ship as i progressed. Made it longer, added a warp tank, changed the wing design and added more powerful thrusters. There are 4 slots for New weapons but myself switched the garling for plasma cannon and rockets. And if you have resources you can just upgrade the whole to armored steel. Great Design very versatile.

I built this as my first SV, in my latest playthrough, and still use it as my normal go to SV midgame. Had to repair it a lot, as the steel just doesnt hold up attacking POIs so I did the upgrade for the outer blocks to hardened steel and its holds up a lot better. Obviously I'm going to upgrade to the MX3-R here shortly, Overall, this is a great, cheap SV. I've taken it to space, the moon and scout constantly with it. Its slow, poorly armored and handles like a brick... but worth every nickle of investment for what it is. Bravo.

I lov this "Military series" so thanks to you! I test this "MX3 with Warp" and put drive on the roof and replace 1 cargo box with warp tank. Not pretty, but it's works. :)

Thanks for comment Welderold. I made this ship originally as low cost ship in a product line so to speak. I am planning on a MX5 ship at some point as well. I think the deal with the warp drive is it takes rares to build. I didn't want this ship to require any rares. I did rebuild it to hardened steel on the MX3R version, but still left the warp core out do to size. Well, that at least was my reasoning. There is just no room in this ship to add it unless I cut performance or made it bigger. Thanks again.

In current version of Empyrion, Short range warp-tank and drive comes to SV at level-7. (CV level-10)

Pulverine, Thanks for the comment. It does not have a warp drive. I think, but not 100% sure that needed a higher player level to unlock. This ship was meant to be low level and fairly inexpensive. The higher end Merc-MX8 does have a warp drive however.

I thoroughly enjoy your builds. Current;y Using The Carapace-C2 with both MXs on the top for versatility. Prefer the Carapace for its simplicity and function. You make some solid stuff, stylish yet very functional.
