firstly no fishing bonus and change the aboriginal hunter to ANZAC trops since it is the 100th aniversary.

i would change the aboriginal hunter to a boomerang hunter. it would replace archer and be the same but could attack twice in one turn.

A bonus to mining would make alot more sense for australia then a fishing one

Hi guys, im been busy with minecraft atm. Its actually a digger, excellent at defending and and not so good at attacking. Im finished with the mod, if BNW sucks me back into the game, i might make it compatible with BNW and add in a digger. But i cant promise anything till then, not long till BNW now

the leader should be John Curtin. bonus production from sheep,cattle,sugar and bananas (generally plantations). cannot use nuclear (but can research it) so thats nuclear plant and nukes. it should include new zealand city names such as Auckland. special unit would be ANZAC which are infantry but get cover and medic bonuses and light horsemen cavalry wich have bonuses in desert tiles but not others. automatically enters war if allies declare war.

Yeah be great to have AU in BNW.

Changed civ icon to our flag.
Fixed promotion bug. Wont effect saves, but wont appear till new game. Fixed UB, to replace lighthouse and not the harbour. Some where i lost the old changes i had

With the building, it replaces the lighthouse, that gives +1 food on each ocean tile, so that is gone decreasing growth. And changed with production, and civ bonus, you should notice the civ ocean squares are less likely to be worked for the less food available unless the city produces heaps of food from land tiles. And +1 gold on each ocean tile, it costs 4 gold maintence, so if you city has a pop of 8 and only 2 are working the ocean your loosing cash by building it. Once 4 are working ocean tiles you break even.

I could remove +1 production, see how many support the idea. Only bonus you'll get from the UB then is having a big coastal pop where there working more then 4 tiles you'll get a small gold boost

Just adding my two cents here:

First of all, good job, loving the colours and Chifley was a pretty reasonable chose for a leader. Secondly however, I'd just like to ask why one would put the Trade Port in the Classical Era? surely it would be a Renaissance/Industrial era building. If you are to move the Trade Port, be sure to compensate by buffing it's abilities :)

Thirdly, the Hunter unit is pretty bugged, for some reason all my ranged units from Gatling Guns to Cannons and Artillery all have the indirect fire promotion (which is pretty cool, but nonetheless OP).

Additionally, you should definitely change the Civ icon - something like the Southern Cross or an outline of the Opera House would be infinitely superior than a Looney Tunes character. One more thing as well! you should change around the city names so that Sydney and Melbourne are the first cities! I say this only because the first city founded was Sydney and because of the UB and it's start bias.

ANZAC is not a unit it stands for, Well you all know but it itse;f is not a unit anyways infantry are short lived units in civ5 so i woudn't like it unless in a scenario.

To download, you just need to hit Subscribe. When you start civ 5, go to Mods, some times can take a few secs before anything happens, but it should download it, then click the tick to enable.

Yeah i know someone else metioned it about Sydney, i stuck them in by there size not giving much thought to it at the time, guess size sort of. I got a list of things to change, im just trying to hold off, didn't relize there was a change log counter at 25 times been changed lol. Thanks for the heads up with the dreaming for dream time

Hi, Love the mod, but there are 2 factual errors:
1. The capital of Australia is Canberra, not sydney
2. The aboriginal stories of ancesteral creation (you referred to them as dreamtime) is actually called "Dreaming".

No, not at first, you cope no worries, but i set it at marathon, and pangea, its what i like. You'll can beat the AI for the first few wonders, etc, but they are madly getting units, once they got that they usually tend to start to pick on the civ that is more advance and has more wonders built, and depends a lot on your freinds, some games you could have virtually the whole map go friends and thats not what you want, not often it happens. All i can say if you can be ahead of the AI with techs by the medieval Age with Australia at Deity your a better man then me, but its cool, i love playing the game :)

Be sure if you get any mod you get this Promotions - Expansion Pack, i cant live without for a modded game, extra civs and just this alone make for a new experience

when on deity, you always suffer in science at first. but there are certain strategies that help human player to become a overwhelming power over AIs :) for Australia, on a suitable map (long sealine with fair sites for settlements) ICS using religion bonus to sustain the happiness could be a good method. free trade route, high productivity, really helpful for early sprawling

You beat me replying, what you find is hard with Australia is you might have great production, but you suffer in science, eventually you'll get a spy but i find my self dragging my toes in being a backward civ. Well ranked troops that make the difference. On easier settings its easy to keep building wonders

Another way to look at it is like this for an example, a city with population of 8. that has 50% land 50% ocean and 4 tiles are worked by ocean 4 tiles worked by land. You earn 0 gold, you'll only return production. Its sort of spoiler info im giving away but any way i hope you like the mod mate

after harbour and seaport that's 4 production per tile equal to a mine enhanced by chemistry :) a typical fish could then be 3 food 4 production and 2 gold---a desert farm along the river on a hill and boost by civil service as well as Petra. this would make Australia a fairly strong sea civ, especially in map consists of islands. thanks for the mod though, I'll try it :)

Hi arthur

You may not be aware, but it replaces the lighthouse. So right away it must produce +1(food for lighthouse) of something then the civ bonus for the building. If you built it and the city only has 4 ocean tiles, that will equal 4 gold total, and the cost of the building is 4 gold.

So once you weight things up the building gives sort of 1+ extra only for your bonus building, and i chose that to be prodution in turn is 2+. But you are right, when you first see what you get it may appear well over balanced. But if you play at Deity as the civ, plus with the AI civ at the same time with others, there is no run away. I have seen Australia wiped out. Its the best way to see if a civg is over powere you'll see it here every time

i think the anzacs or light horse cavalry shouls be the special unit and something like a sheep station or farm for the special building, id make it but i cant do mods

Hi Uber, im not very good with english in being creative with a better write up of it. He was just a politician, and that is where i find it hard to write it up like the other civs. There is a suggestion of Ned Kelly, was a criminal, and i felt a better representation of Australia would be better. Fixed the typo, probably a heap more there.

Any suggestions on what you would like writen up there, please post over at civfanatics G&K Australia - Land Down Under [forums.civfanatics.com] i can post up over there all the text if you like to look at it, thanks

G'day! Great to see an Aussie mod (for anything). Well done. I've only just finished my first run through of the vanilla game (Gandhi the Terrible!?! Bahah!), so haven't loaded any mods. So, feel free to tell me to pull my head in for this but: two Australian Wonders popped into my head while having a look at this mod - Uluru and the Snowy Mountains Scheme.

Civ neds an Australian civilization but whether this mod can fill that hole in it's current state? I'm not sure. The mod itself is solidly executed with some good UUs and a reasonably balanced civ' but the main probem I can see is the start up screen. Firstly you've spelt 'commonwealth' wrong and echoing another user's comments; it doesn't read like Civ's other descriptions, perhaps mention Chifley's reforms or good deeds rather than summmarising Australian history, mention it, but don't dwell on it.

Just made changes, if you already have game saves best not to update it.

The changes allow the civ UU & UB to appear in the mods i like above. Forgot to sort this out, i got 2 versions, mine is the beta, the version here is good
