Yep, every time I went back to Skyrim again after a year or so I quite often had to start again from scratch if I was playing with any mods.

I can't remember the exact name I gave the armour but If you don't mind cheating to get it back again you can go into the console and type "help steel 0", "help plate 0" or "help BAR 0" the armour pieces should hopefully pop up in the list of results; then it's just a case of typing in the console command to spawn it into the game.

Oh, that actually is a good explanation to why mods screw up constantly on this version. Decided to start a playthrough recently and added this to my modlist but it just kinda screwed up anyways at some point.

Not really a *real* criticism considering the age, but just felt like mentioning it

To be honest, if you've tried to reload a save from a modded version of the original Skyrim from back in the day you'll be lucky that anything works due to how the game adds unique item id reference numbers to everything. You would pretty much have to ensure that all the mods you had installed back then have been reinstalled in the exact same order and that they haven't had any changes that add anything new 'etc'.

The only other alternative would be to cheat the missing items back in again using the console command.

this mod is 12 years old, regardless, it vanished from my inventory upon reloading a save :conwayshrug:

Pretty awesome mod. I trained my smithing like crazy to get it as early as I could and was not disappointed. The textures are great, the armor looks both unique, and fitting for the setting, I have used it my entire 50hr playthrough I liked it so much. Had a few issues with parts of my body being see through then mixing and matching it with some armors but overall works excellently.

Not really, if you look at it closely you'll notice that it's a mixture of both Gothic and Milanese armour with some fantasy elements added to it... Check out the boots and pauldrons (you'll not see anything shaped like that in our own history)... The base mesh was made for the game Witcher 2 and ported over by LordofWar.

This is just historical gothic armour from the Holy Roman Empire, I don't really understand the name.

Hey, is it okay if I use this armour set as the standard guard armour in my new upcoming mod about an island that is north of Solstheim? I feel this will fit super well with my mod!
AntiSocialEd™ 30 May, 2017 @ 1:03am
worked for me :P
Captain Robertson  [author] 27 Jan, 2017 @ 12:48pm
It's worked for everyone else and I don't play this game anymore so sadly, I've got no idea what's causing that - try downloading it and installing it manually from nexus and see if that fixes it, sometimes steam workshop can be a little strange.
Captain Nock 27 Jan, 2017 @ 12:27pm
No. I'm playing just the 2011 version.

It downloads 0/0 bytes as if it was downloading a mod normally, and then wallah, nothing new shows up on the Skyrim launcher. Stays at the same number of mods as it was before even when subscribed.
Captain Robertson  [author] 27 Jan, 2017 @ 12:24pm
This is only for the 2011 PC version of Skyrim, if you're trying to download it for the Xbox or Special Edition, it won't work... The good news is that someone else has ported this and the Hedge knight over to the Special Edition, you can find them somewhere in the Steam Workshop.
Captain Nock 27 Jan, 2017 @ 12:16pm
So is anyone else not able to properly download this? Tried some of the common fixes, didn't work.

Curious.

Please port to Xbox one this is an awesome mod that I love
Astartes_Nico 17 Dec, 2016 @ 6:38am
Dude this is amazing i love it soooo much pls can you upload it for skyrim special edition to
Mr. Bear 23 Nov, 2016 @ 9:11pm
This armor plus the armet from your other mod make the PERFECT suit of armor for me.

Proper classic knight. Well done.
bel 13 Nov, 2016 @ 9:08am
yeah
Captain Robertson  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 9:03am
The Sallet? Yeah almost all the countries in Europe used it back in the late middle ages, everyone just associates it with the Germans though as they were very popular with the nobility in the HRE, more than the Armet which tended to be more popular with the Italians, but they used Sallets too.

In the UK there was a huge mix of armour and helmet types during the same period - if you google War of the Roses, you'll see exactly what I mean.
bel 13 Nov, 2016 @ 8:54am
yeah, it's because of the helmet
Captain Robertson  [author] 13 Nov, 2016 @ 8:53am
Almost... It's a fantasy armor but with it's smoother plates, mail skirt and tassets it bears more of a resemblance to a Milanese set than a Gothic one, Gothic armour is more fluted and looks a lot lighter, like the example below.

bel 13 Nov, 2016 @ 12:08am
aka german gothic armor
Captain Robertson  [author] 28 Oct, 2016 @ 8:27am
Probably not, as I don't really play Skyrim anymore and I most likely won't be playing or modding for the special edition, which is essentially the same game - except with prettier graphics... Like what we already had with some of the texture and scenery enhancing mods most of us downloaded from Nexus about 3 years ago.

The good news is that I think the guy that made the Hedge Knight might be porting his stuff to Special Edition. The Hedge Knight is really just the same Witcher 2 Heavy Knight but with more details added onto it, like a cape 'etc'.
Parry Pope 28 Oct, 2016 @ 7:46am
Can we expect this to be ported to the special edition any time soon?
Vari the maid 18 Jul, 2016 @ 5:22am
does this work with khajits
turkey bacon halal pasta 22 Feb, 2016 @ 3:31pm

Could you make a gladiator armour mod with different gladiator armours like Samnites, Secutors and Mirmillos?
Captain Robertson  [author] 29 Jan, 2016 @ 3:07pm
Type in 'help plate' or 'help steel' and look for steel plate armor, steel plate gauntlets and steel plate boots. You need to use PageUp and PageDown to scroll through the entries.... They have the same names as the default set, so just find the second ones further down the list.
Fir 29 Jan, 2016 @ 1:03am
I want to add this to my chacater at the start of the game but I can't get the codes for them. I've tried all the Help "baraban-steel-plate" 5 codes but It will not come up with anything. please I beg you to help me!
Voymir Griffitz 5 Dec, 2015 @ 3:50am
Wolf_359 - you must have a advanced smithin, this is plate armour, and then you find it in the steel section indeed
Voymir Griffitz 5 Dec, 2015 @ 3:47am
Great looking armour! do you have yet this armour with Redania emblem? :steamhappy:
TheRioGamer 2 Dec, 2015 @ 7:52pm
How do I craft it? I looked in steel and didn't see it.
Maddog -HH- 27 Sep, 2015 @ 6:35pm
yes epic destruction
Captain Robertson  [author] 14 Aug, 2015 @ 7:55pm
Many thanks for the all the kind comments, much appreciated.

I very rarely play Skyrim and I'm focusing on modding and mission making for Arma III these days so the version posted here and on Nexus will most likely be the final version of this mod, but I will no doubt be modding for other games in the very near future!
Olde Rapscallion 30 Apr, 2015 @ 2:30am
Just started playing Skyrim again recently, not sure if you still check this mod, or take on suggestions, but I kind of feel like there should be a bevor-only headpiece.
elemental_prod 14 Apr, 2015 @ 8:19am
Great looking armour! Now to figure out which of my retainers gets it.
Серпов 10 Feb, 2015 @ 11:34pm
Простенько и со вкусом, без всяких излишеств, что радует.
De Guzman Gaming 7 Jul, 2014 @ 1:45pm
Glenn-Jenkins the Argonian dragonborn coward recommends this armour!

Damn fine mod. You are to be commended.
Knifey_Spooney 27 Jun, 2014 @ 8:33am
screw u, witcher overalls everything plus witcher came out first
Gram 15 May, 2014 @ 1:24pm
I dunno about Witcher 2...looks more like Dark Souls to me.
Olde Rapscallion 30 Mar, 2014 @ 5:51pm
Still loving this armour. It's pretty much all my most used character (as much as I use any character these days) has used since I subscribed to it, but is there any chance of getting a bevor-only head piece? Less armour and stuff, obviously.. it just feels like it's missing and I'm guessing wouldn't be too rough to add in..?
Or maybe it would, I wouldn't know.
KingExcaliburn 19 Mar, 2014 @ 8:31pm
My favorite armor for male characters...great job!
TheGreatMaxwell 14 Jan, 2014 @ 4:48pm
Does this come with a helmet? I have not found a helmet to match the armor in game.
Profit 13 Jan, 2014 @ 4:32pm
You should add a barbute helmet that would be awesome
Boer Basher 28 Dec, 2013 @ 3:21pm
