Maybe you playing on some server that's modified the script, if it is not, unfortunately I can not help you, I'm sorry. It's hard to try to help you because I'm not having this problem here. I asked other people if they are having this same problem, and they replied that everything is fine with this mod.

I did disable all mods and played only with this mod, and I reinstalled the game. I am 80% sure that Valve has made it so that awp models no longer need a fix to not be left handed, with the side effect that mirrored models like this will not work. I had to write a script to force BuiltRightHanded to 0, which I will upload later and make this item required.

It works perfectly here. Possibly you still have some a mod that is changing the AWP script or CSS weapons script. As a test, I suggest you disable all mods installed in the game (except this M1903) and also check the integrity of you game files. Restart the game after disabled the mods.

So it looks like Valve at some point has patched it so the default BuiltRightHanded for the awp is 1 (this is on a fresh install). I wrote a script to force it to 0 for the sake of this mod and it works like a charm.

Mine is left handed for some reason, no matter what I do.

Well, i dont know if it would be any better if the animation was shoving rounds in one by one, under such little reload time. That would probably be at breakneck speed.

Sorry but this is impossible for me, since that Springfield animations were made for the left hand, it is impossible to convert the animations to the right hand.

Maybe an alternate version with normal animations for script users?

I use the CSS Weapons Unlocker from Lt. Rocky I works perfectly here. I think Lt. Rocky made this mod for the original CSS weapons on L4D2 with original animations of course, the same style that I use in the Springfield.
