I think you'll find the first person to publish the general idea of it was Freeman Dyson, The guy who it's names after. I hope the next Ringworld comes with cool Potatoes !

Larry Niven wrote Ring World way back when about finding a Dyson ring. Neat stuff. I believe he was the first to actually publish the general idea of it.

Yeah untill fixed stars are added to SE, this is impossible to do.

@G.Hemza I think Thanatos is referring to a Hollow planet like seen in halo wars (shield world 0459), which has a miniature star directly in the middle of it which provide's the light. I don't know if this is Possible in SE. The cutscene below shows what I think Thanatos is referring to.

I was thinking about making one with mountains on each side, but theres no real point since there is no way to put an atmosphere on it. just don't drive off the edges and you should be fine :3

This is awsome! Any chance you can make a varient that just has terain walls on the side? Not to tall of anything , maybe a block or 2. I just feel like it would make it more useable.

The subscribe button is the only way to install it, as far as I know.

@If we had a 3rd party tool to "paint" the voxels instead of having to use voxel hands would of made making the new ringworld 100x easier.

No offense intended. The ring is looking fantastic. But I wished we could edit more easily, se is sometimes so difficult to handle and it’s engine has so many restrictions. Like we can’t have bigger Voxel hands.

Redship is so small you have to zoom in on the picture.

I've been working on this a couple hours every day to build since I released this WIP build. It is bigger than the largest man made object in this game I can think of and that is the ringworld habitat that was made out of blocks.
