Thank you for the comment.
Glad to see people still find these textures useful.

Just wanted to pop in here and say that this texture has been EXTREMELY useful for myself and a few friends! We landed on the Snow Scoper for our Sniper specifically because of this model/texture combo for animating/posing. Hoping to learn a bit about how to apply textures/vmts with custom transparency off of this as well.

Figured I'd leave something here since nobody's commented for a few years and I think that's a shame considering how much use I've gotten out of this combo. Hope you're having a great day wherever you are!

Max helped me fix it. It works right now

Parts of it are supposed to become transparent, yes.
These textures combined with those parameters affect only sniper's body (it should end up looking exactly like in the image above).

I posted a comment.. Then realized i needed the new scow scoper model. I had another one on. I put on the right model and the clipping has been REDUCED. Not fully undone. Is the sniper's body meant to disappear? Or am i missing something because the body seems to have no changes

I may show you how to do it, if you have discord and screenshare, this will help me help you a lot easier :)

Okay, thank you.

Well that is sort of a tutorial in the description... Other guides already exist that cover override materials in greater detail. I should have "tutorial" for another way you could deal with geometry clipping up somewhat soon that may make this partially obsolete, so you might wanna wait for that.

Could somebody make a tutorial? I've tried it, but I'm too stupid to do it right. :steamfacepalm:

just did it today (sorry for doing it late) and WORKS a treat. Thanks for the help :D

You should locate sfm_sniper_blue.vmt, sfm_sniper_red.vmt and sfm_sniper_skin.vmt files
in tf_movies\materials\models\player\sniper, open them in Notepad++ (or some similar program) and add "$alphatest" "1" line somewhere (under "$detailblendmode" 6, for example), then save them.

i know just is late, but what does it mean by "Add "$alphatest" "1" command". Do i add attribute > string then type $alphatest and type 1 as the name?
help :(

Yes, this is a "quick and dirty" way to fix that type of problem (in absence of bodygroups or custom models).

Why is this the case though? Is the default clothing clipping from the coat?
