hehe myself, im pretty bad when its time to give a nice look at my ship, whatever the size!
i focus more on how i want to use it! the one im building now, i wanted to have a large interior space for some SV/HV... hull is almost done, 105/98/48, look ugly as **** lol

I tried to start one, but got discouraged quickly - I think I am not yet ready for that work.
I must say that its a complete different approach than building SV... not only speaking about the required time, but also to anticipate the internal and external structure to place either decors, or devices.
(and I also dont like so big blocks... its harder to make nice looking vessels with details - but thats personnal)

nice looking sv :).. dont worry about CV, im building a new one right now, 3 layer of armor.. already put 30-40 hours easily only on the structure itself , engine position and hangars doors. its a massive one, but it will worth all the work ;)

Not bad...I'm finally starting to venture into the realm of larger HV and SVs now (though in my case, the impetus is creating ones I can stand in and launch drones from, compared to my previous compact units), and this looks like something I might do.

Yea, I think I will try to make a CV, to complete my little collection now...
I think I will build 1 more SV, then will work on the CV

CV's seem like a lot of work, but it's not that bad, unless you make it massive.
Remember, the blocks are a lot bigger than SV blocks.

I'm going to play it a while, to check the 1 block widht entrance to cockpit. If issues occur too often, I will rework it to make it 2 block width.. .tyet, this involves to rework the both 1/3 back of the ship..which is some kind of work :P

(I 'am really not sure I will ever try to build a CV.... the work amount seem incredible... This ship already took me like 20 hours I think...)

Yes, first vessel. But I have experience in avorion and some other games like robocraft etc...
It the first time I publish things ...

About the cockpit issue. If you have troubles, use the jetpack to get in.
I tested it but the only real issue is that you may get stuck trying to turn left or right right when you get upstair in the cockpit area. then if this happens, you only have to leave the keybord and let the game move you slightly (takes 4, 5 secondes)

But I admit, I did not think about the 1 block width only while building it because on creation mode, jetpack is infinite...

Are you sure this is your first ship? The level of quality seems a big high for that...
I love the level of detail you got going on, you got great potential.

However, there is a slight problem I got...
Part of the hallway to the cockpit is only one block wide, so if the ship isn't on straight enough ground you can't get to the cockpit, other than that it's a great ship.
