It's really simple (in fact you might have discovered it already)
You have several altars in the game which work as checkpoints. If you interact with one of those, you may buy upgrades or costumes, and you'll find any costume you downloaded amongst the costumes. ;)

Haha i really like all the custom animations from your characters, the DK barrel was amazing haha! I really hope to see more of your costumes in the future :D
