whitecleve: In Falkthreat, go to the graveyard and talk to the couple who are burying their daughter, the father will say that the man who killed her is imprisoned, so the quest: Ill Met by Moonlight will start.
Go to the prison and talk to the killer, it will give you a cursed ring. Beware, because the ring self-equips and if you are a Werewolf, the ring can make you turn at any time. That is why I recommend that you go as quickly as possible to the locations indicated on the map.
Hunt White Moose, and talk to Hircine. He will give you the mission to hunt down the guy who gave you the ring, refuse to kill the guy.
Then head to the location indicated on the map and find the man who gave you the ring and choose to help him, by hunting the hunters (I recommend that if you have the ability to become a werewolf, use it as it will be much more funny).
When you finish and exit the cave Hircine will find you and will remove the curse from the ring. Okay, now you have the Hircine Ring.

For those who have installed the Mod before owning the Ring of Hircine and can not make it work.

(If you installed the mod after picking up the ring and it still did not work, skip the first part of this explanation).

1 - Quit the game and restart it with the mod: rho-no desease.esp unchecked. Start the game, save, and exit again.

Now restart the game with the mod enabled. Load the last save and notice that the description of the ring has changed, but it still will not work.

2 - To be able to make the mod work, simply throw away the ring from your inventory and get it back from where it fell (it is easier to find the ring if it is in the first person).

Equip the ring and notice that the mod is now working normally.

I use the command set "RoHconfig to 1" and now i can't bring back the totem selection menu using the set "RoHconfig to 0" and to make things worst the ring doesn't give me the transformation any more, i recently finished the companions quest and cure my character from lycanthropy, any help will be much appreciated. Sorry for the bad english

Anyone know a mod that DOES allow unlimited time in werewolf form? I've been looking for one for a long time and have had no luck... Also, it has to be a steam one, not nexus... i can't launch nexus for some reason.

I was a werewolf before i used this mod and i wanted to transform more often but it dont work

press ''tgm'' in ''~'' and youll ( toogle god mod'' then type ''showracemenu'' this will open the race menu and youll be able to do as many changes as you want AND youll keep your perks, stats, everthing intact. after your done, just simply open the command menu again and type ''tgm'' and youll disable god mode.
really, non of you know this. commo this is amature grade stuff. i feel bad for those of you that got your perks reset to 0. shoul'da known better, we'll no problem anymore. now you know

If you had the ring and then got the mod, drop the ring, and catch it again, it will trigger the script from the mod.

I have the ring of Hircine, and have had it for a while now. I just became a vampire, and I wanted to stay a werewolf too, so I downloaded this mod. I have the ring of Hircine equiped, but the beast form power is not there. I open the powers menu, and it is not there even though I double checked that I had the ring equiped. Any help???

@dragongod01, sure I can help, but not on steam, as it would be almost spam to do it in this mod's comment section, so follow this advice:

Create a nexusmod account and post on the forms there or on skyrim's official forums, ask for help, check the creation kit documentation at http://www.creationkit.com/Main_Page , do some silly mods first, then try advanced stuff from there, if the mods you have have the source code in them, read it, try to understand things, and practice, if you realy realy want to learn not just a passing whim, send me a friend request :)

Oh and just a tiny tip, avoid all CAPS posts, they are... not helpfull when seeking help :)

Okay, thanks. The reason I asked was because I didn't try it out yet and read the wikipedia article on the ring itself.

This is a mod for the final ring, the one after the quest, so no, it won't randomly transform you, and yes it will let you have werewolf perks if you are in werewolf form

Oh, also, does it let you have werewolf perks while it's active?

Does it still make you have a random chance to transform you into a werewolf?

You can use the perk trees freely of course to get to each tree you need to be in each respective form :)

I know I keep it (you can regain lycanthrophy once, cause of Dawnguard, and then you keep your skill perks.) My question is, if I'm a vampire and I use the mod to become a big bad wolf, can I still use the skill perk option when I'm in Beats Form using the ring, or do I need to have the actual disease for that, as you stated this mod does not ad that.

Yes if you heal yourself of beeing a big bad wolf, you will retain the perk tree (this is default game behaviour, not from this mod btw) ;)

I have Dawnguard, will I keep the werewolf skill perk? Its rather usefull ^^.

Gonna try it anyways, Aela can turn you back into an werewolf after dawnguard if you want, and you keep your perks and perkspoints, so says UESP wiki ^^.

The description mentions getting rid of the ring and then using the console command to add an updated version, but that's completely unnecessary. I simply threw the ring away and picked it up again and it updated the script.

@Source Heart: I think that it DID, but was almost immediately patched, or rather, the cursed ring gave you Lycanthropy. Anyway, download the Nexus Mod Manager by creating a free account- it's the only way anything will make sense to the computer, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You know, I found it very odd that the Ring of Hircine in Skyrim never granted the power of the werewolf to people who were not werewolves, and I felt that it should have. I myself like to have the well rested bonuses and such and not big on having the permanent werewolf thing, but it is kinda fun to go into the beast form for the lolz once in a bluemoon. This mod looks like it will make the Ring of Hircine more useful to me. Thanks!

That's specific to the way the Werewolf power works, I don't intend to change that as I wish this mod to remain as simple as possible, saying that, there is an amazing mod that does prity much what this one does, but it's better (in my opinion :) ) and has that feature, it goes by the name of: "Moonlight Tales - Werewolf and Werebear Overhaul" there are other mods similar to this, but this one has the feature you seek ;)
