"NOTE: While canonical itself, the design of this ship is based on a non-canon design featured in the Sins of the Prophets mod for Sins of a Solar Empire."

Hey there! Very cool ship, but this is NOT the Punic class. Non the less great job!
MrEvan312  [author] 29 Mar, 2023 @ 7:10pm
If I recall the Thermopylae preceded the Punic classes like the Trafalgar actually being named as such, so they were kinda filling a void, and then the Punic caught on a bit more before finally getting a canon design in Fleet Battles. I could be wrong though
Tactics 29 Mar, 2023 @ 3:18pm
i thought the Thermopylae WAS a Punic class supercarrier lol
MrEvan312  [author] 1 Nov, 2022 @ 6:53pm
The Thermopylae model was the precursor of sorts for this design and it borrows elements from it. I much prefer it because it's not so silly and tall looking
UnfitArmory 1 Nov, 2022 @ 5:45pm
This looks more like a thermopylae, if thats's what you meant by the last sentence. But cool ship nontheless!
EMPIREVSREBLES 11 Nov, 2020 @ 4:29pm
It's alright.
MrEvan312  [author] 11 Nov, 2020 @ 4:24pm
I'll admit I can't really be bothered to get back into the game because, for some reason, there's an issue that crippled my way of building and as far as I can tell I've not found a reason to fix it. Might also be burnt out.

As for how long, I think it took less than a week. I have a way of building things fairly fast but I also am a bit lazy about REALLY building things.
EMPIREVSREBLES 11 Nov, 2020 @ 3:12pm
Jesus Christ how long did this build take?
EMPIREVSREBLES 11 Nov, 2020 @ 3:06pm
or the grinder pre-activates and destroys the longsword early,,,
EMPIREVSREBLES 11 Nov, 2020 @ 3:04pm
Can you fix the longsword printers? They always leave the longsword unfinished.

how i get in with out using a grinder?
MrEvan312  [author] 23 Oct, 2020 @ 12:50pm
That would be my newest Halberd-class destroyer model! https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1301180512

My Stalwart-class light frigates may also fit, but don't quote me on that
moher4 23 Oct, 2020 @ 12:23pm
can someone link me to the ships that were desinged to fit in this ship?
MrEvan312  [author] 14 Aug, 2020 @ 9:29pm
Oh Keen, what'd you do this time... I have so damn many ships, though >:0
Aug 14 Aug, 2020 @ 7:17pm
This appears to be an issue with almost all of your ships, their turrets are broken somehow. They are placed next to where the conveyors for them are and if the ship takes damage they fall off. You may need to reupload the ships or something, I'm not sure.

and the work you did on it MrEvan. one of my favorite's thus far. :3
MrEvan312  [author] 15 Feb, 2019 @ 5:33pm
Without a doubt.
Vix Sparda 13 Feb, 2019 @ 7:58pm
Mr Evan. lets be honest here. the non cannon LOOKS WAY BETTER than cannon.
Xeno 7 Nov, 2018 @ 4:35am
ok be sure to look into it
MrEvan312  [author] 5 Nov, 2018 @ 8:12pm
"NOTE: While canonical itself, the design of this ship is based on a non-canon design featured in the Sins of the Prophets mod for Sins of a Solar Empire."

There is a "canon" design featured in the tabletop game Halo: Fleet Battles by Spartan Games, which worked to make the game with 343, but I feel that design is more suited asthetically to a cargo vessel while this one looks more like a dedicated, heavy-hitting warship.
Xeno 5 Nov, 2018 @ 2:38pm
evan where didc you get the design
ITS AMAZING
MrEvan312  [author] 6 Oct, 2018 @ 9:53pm
In the pictures? Those are Halberd-class Destroyers. I may need to update the design, it currently can carry just Halberd-class Destoyers but I think it can also carry Stalwart-class frigates.
LordBrocktree4 6 Oct, 2018 @ 5:24am
Which of your frigates have you used as the escorts?
MrEvan312  [author] 28 Sep, 2018 @ 10:48pm
Thanks! A spaceball uses a little more resources than an artificial mass block, but less than an artmass+power source combo, so it's a little cheaper. I used to have the projector set on a rotor and used a grinder to grind the bullet free. That system fired literally just the ball itself. These projectiles are probably as cheap and simple as it gets.

I scrapped and replaced that system to eliminate the problem of subgrids, which makes construction a good deal harder.
The Chad 28 Sep, 2018 @ 10:36pm
That's awesome. Makes sense to avoid the need for a battery.
MrEvan312  [author] 28 Sep, 2018 @ 10:28pm
Spaceballs also have variable mass, turning it up to the max (2 tons) makes it a pretty hard hitting projectile at high speed.
MrEvan312  [author] 28 Sep, 2018 @ 10:25pm
I used a spaceball because it can propel the projectile with the gravgens without the need to have an artificial mass block, which requires a power source to work. I was aiming for simplicity and a compact design.
The Chad 28 Sep, 2018 @ 10:19pm
For the forward cannon ammo, I noticed that in addition to the warhead, you've added a 'space ball' as well. I'm curious why a 'space ball'? I've never used space balls before as ammo for a gravity gun... sorry this is Halo I need to be more accurate... MAC cannon. :)

Thank you! Her interior might need a bit more work and detail, and I'll have a new machine soon so I can finally work on it again. Altogether, though, I love how she turned out.
TheMorpheus 26 Sep, 2018 @ 1:43am
amazing work! :steamhappy:
MrEvan312  [author] 17 Jun, 2018 @ 8:16pm
Drat. That system was done somewhat hastily, so I'm sure I cocked up something. I'll revisit it when I can get back on.
Rocket_Man_Dan 17 Jun, 2018 @ 1:48pm
they land pretty well though
Rocket_Man_Dan 17 Jun, 2018 @ 1:36pm
they get cuaght on the merge block, i think to fix it you just move the merge block up on block on the lifeboat mount, and itll work fine.
MrEvan312  [author] 17 Jun, 2018 @ 12:49pm
How do they not work, do they not detach? Do they not land properly? Those things were being a serious pain in the ass, you might just need to change the deploy height of the chutes.
MrEvan312  [author] 17 Jun, 2018 @ 12:48pm
Figures.
Rocket_Man_Dan 17 Jun, 2018 @ 12:36pm
the lifeboats dont work.

Sad about the Sphere, but with the halo ring that depends on the varriant, One from the Greater Ark would be 30,000km which at 1:10 would be 30km, One from the Lesser Ark (Installation 00) that one would only be 10,000km which at 1:10 would be 10km
MrEvan312  [author] 9 May, 2018 @ 12:40am
The Dyson Sphere? From what I've seen it's basically a hollowed asteroid with large corridors, rooms, and a very large center sphere with gravity and small biomes. Definitely too small to encompass even the smallest planet. I'd like to see a Halo ring at 1:10, which would have about 3km width and be about 30km across?
SSV Normandy SR-1 9 May, 2018 @ 12:34am
Will it be able to emcompass a small moon or planet or will it just have an artifical star at its center?
MrEvan312  [author] 9 May, 2018 @ 12:32am
Not sure, he's using an import to make it. It's got a fairly sizeable interior able to move small ships in and out. The size issues are mostly because Midspace's importer has issues and takes forever to import large objects.
SSV Normandy SR-1 9 May, 2018 @ 12:28am
A dyson sphere, how big are we talking?
MrEvan312  [author] 8 May, 2018 @ 10:38pm
Actually, there's a guy making an actual 3km wide voxel ring at some point when he's done with his Dyson spheres.
SSV Normandy SR-1 8 May, 2018 @ 10:28pm
Alright then, how about you make your own version of a Halo ring, i've seen a few on the workshop and they are impressive
MrEvan312  [author] 8 May, 2018 @ 10:17pm
POA: No, I don't think I'll make Infinity. I don't like the ship design, it's huge even at 1:10.
MrEvan312  [author] 8 May, 2018 @ 10:16pm
It can be tricky, sadly the actual ground vehicles are a lot harder even with small grid, but 1:10 is not to bad given that Halo ships are absolutely enormous! Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
C.H.U.D. 8 May, 2018 @ 1:02pm
It's incredible how you keep all of your ships to scale! Awesome work!
