I'm pretty sure what I thought was the door was not, in fact, the door. After clearing the field I was able to get it working. Thanks man. Great mod btw.

smokytehbear - Yes it is a thing that a building can't be reached, however, the building displays a different symbol in that case. The earth kiln has a front (where the holes are in the mound) and this is where the worker will stand to tend the kiln. There should be some space and the terrain should not be too steep for the villagers to walk.
The "ZZZ" is more indicative of missing resources to produce. How far away are your logs stored?

My man, I seem to be having an issue with the worker assigned actually entering the building and working. He's assigned the profession and also assigned to the workplace, but he's showing ZZZ like there isn't a kiln.

Is it possible he just can't reach it? Is that a thing?

TEO438 - Thanks for remembering to report this! Still curious to figure this out. Could you send me what is in the file log.log (or log.txt) in the game main directory (steamapps/common/Life is Feudal Forest Village)? The file is overwritten every time the game is started, so I would need a copy right after thr crash. That would help me identify what causes that crash :-)

I don't know why this is happening, but it is always the left side. I haven't tried putting the kiln back, but will do that the next time I am in the game. I tend to play the game in spurts, so I don't konw when that will be. I will try out the crafting table, sounds good. I have many of your mods and the kiln is the only one that gives me a problem. Hey, me again. I went for a long time with no crashes with the kiln. They are back. I placed a stone road along the side of the default storage shed. Then placed an earth kiln with the work station close to that road, so when being worked the villager had his back to the storage shed. I used the shift key to minimize the footprint. After it was built and working, I laid roads completly around the kiln. Saved game and let the roads get built as I watched. Everytime the villager tried to build the section of road to the left of the kiln (from the kiln worker viewpoint), the game crashed. 4 times this happened. Removed kiln and roads built without a problem.

Sorry, no longer have the save game. Had a wolf sneak in and kill 2 donkeys while my hunters were having poker night, I guess. I don't save multiple files for same game, and I wasn't happy with the game anyway. I will try to recreate the issue tomorrow. Thanks for checking.

TEO438 - I have tried to reproduce the crash you have reported, but found that I could not. I think it might only happen on a specific placement. Have you had this crash happen with more than one different earth kilns, or only on a certain one? And if you still have that savegame, might I ask you to make a screenshot of the kiln that causes the problem, so that I can try and recreate the situation? Sure it is an issue that can be avoided, but I would like to get to the bottom of it :-)

Nice addition to the game. Had no problems until recently. I am getting a CTD everytime I try to place a stone/paved road on the left side of the kiln. (Looking at it from behind the worker) The area shows green to accept road, but crashes game. Move one square left and no problem. It seems to be the area where the pole in the build animation hits the ground. Never noticed a problem before latest set of patches. I haven't had a CTD in over 5 months and just now crashed 5 times. Just a heads up, it can be worked around if you know ahead of time.

A work place made from existing models.

Intended to produce charcoal as it has been done in Real Life, by stacking up logs, covering them with earth, and slowly burning it.
The building produces 10 coal from 15 logs in one go, work time is 6 minutes.
The normal kiln: 1 firewood to 1 coal, in 1.4 minutes, but the firewood first has to be cut from logs at the woodcutter's / sawmill - that's 3 firewood from 1 log in 1.3 / 1.0 minutes, so all in all 3 coal from 1 log in ~1.5 minutes plus the time for the additional transport.
TLDR: The earth kiln produces coal quicker, but less material efficient.

(And sorry about the little hole at the top, hope it doesn't bother you too much, I will still try and find a way to fix it)
