First of congrats on your profile pic (i just realized it's lotr themed). They do look a bit like very angry drop bears!! (koalas right?) What i meant by reskin was that i changed their appearance(ror) not the texture colour. I did that later manually (just changed the numbers so they would look black from the back and grey in the front), didn't change dds though, just the normal data table. Now for the body parts, i just edited the variant meshes, that way because the skin texture now is the same as normal skin wolves they can get the same colour variations as in your mod!

Suggestion for a future mod?

Fully Armored Skinwolves.

With helmets and much heavier looking armor, more armor covering their bodies.

Should be possible global :) that's actually a good idea :) yeah I just redid the mask dds and also coloured the clothing in the diffuse , but I didn't do the bit of clothing on the armoured torso. I had issues trying to change the ror, have you worked it out ? Mind if I have a look how you did it ?

Hahaha they more resemble our drop bears from down here XD

One quick question : Is it possible to add the armoured skin wolves skin variants(without the armour) to the unarmoured version ? In the last pic i see a white as snow one, as well as one that looks almost like a husky-werewolf ! Is this possible to be done? Also, in the unit variants color tables the primary colors are usually responsible for the hairy parts of the skin wolf (back and head mostly) as well as the clothing. In your mod is it just for the hairy parts? (i actually reskined the ror skin wolves to look just like normal ones (unarmoured)except that their furs are pitch black and their clothing is same color, despite norsca faction color being orange) In any case i ve been waiting for a mod like this for a long time and its great to see someone made it!

Thanks for the explanation. Don't worry, I understand completely, I have played around a lot with the tex files and unit_variants_colours table :)

Let's hope they bring out a better modding tool for TW:W2 (doubt it, but one can always hope).

Well I couldn't haha I tried but they just turned up invisible .....if I could have used my own rigid models this mod would be ten times better..I had to make the textures lighter cause when the colour is added from the variant colour it just sits on top of the diffuse and if it's darker in the diffuse the colour will be different if you know what I mean. Hard to explain but I pretty much had to make the fur lighter so that the variant colour added via the mask was clearer...when I used the vanilla dds files brown in variant colour would turn our to be a slightly lighter black or very similar where as white would make it grey haha I hope I explained it lol sorry if I confused you lol

I see you didn't use rigid_models at all, only tex files. Why were they needed? Couldn't you use the units_variants_colours only?

i know, feels like they are doing it on purpose...i have no idea how to work with weighted materials and ws. models hahaha have you worked it out? i couldnt even add a new rigid model or anything to the variantmesh ...im still such a noob *facepalm

take a look at this mod pack file and see what i had to do haha such a dumb way of doing it. Couldnt think of any other way

has workshop been announced for tw2 yet?

It was that tough? Damn. Why does CA make our lives harder? After the Wood Elves patch, they messed up the retexture process and made it much more complicated :/

got any colours youd like to see? i wasnt able to add new textures but just overwrite the vanilla then use the variants colour table :) thanks for the praise but if you knew how much trial and error i do you wouldnt be as impressed hahaha

Hey Ado, good work! I had this in my to-do-list, now I don't have to. You're much better than me at retexturing anyway ;)
