Thanks for creating this. This will be most useful and a great size reduction from the windmill. Well done for sharing.

version is 1.16575. Does it need ot have new version higher 1.16611. Thanks

Actually I am working on a smaller version of the tavern/inn. I am not planning to make more distrubution/storage buildings, as there are already a lot of these available.
Something like a simple working table where villagers can craft the most basic versions of tools and clothing would be something to think about, so thanks for the idea :-)
As for transportation, there is a really great mod by Sir Foxy, be sure to check it out if you haven't already: http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1169091289

Yes, as you said, distributing products or production, hoping to have more like this MOD-like design, such as the new menu for Kitchen & Cooking (feeling to have more simple menus), or new miniaturization Restaurants, small transportation buildings (easy to manage the balance between small warehouses):steamhappy:
MEGADORI  [author] 20 Mar, 2018 @ 5:15am
Rory - I am not quite sure what you mean, are you thinking of little shops for distributing goods, or to produce goods? I have something for production in mind (a clothes atelier more suited for a city), but that is probably the opposite of what you mean :-D
Rory 18 Mar, 2018 @ 2:01am
I really like this design. Will the future consider designing a small workshop and textile shop? It feels good for small villages:steamhappy:

I believe it is this mod that added the barley, I was thinking about removing this due to it not being updated anymore... been having alot of crashes due to older mods, and the oldest two mods I have are this one and the accompanying seed package to find during exploration...
ChunkyBluntz 25 Feb, 2018 @ 1:11pm
omg that would be the coolest, I have been avoiding building the giant buidlings in this city, trying to make a realistic looking place for photos
MEGADORI  [author] 25 Feb, 2018 @ 10:44am
ChunkyBluntz - Not to worry! I will look up that barley mod, maybe there is a way to make both mods cooperate :-)
ChunkyBluntz 25 Feb, 2018 @ 10:23am
That footprint thing makes sense... and the barley I think comes from a mod, didnt think of that when I asked last night, I was pretty tired at the time...
MEGADORI  [author] 25 Feb, 2018 @ 4:41am
Great that you got it to work!
I think I know the problem you had, it occurred to me a few times with some of the small buildings like the well (with smaller footfrints mod) or small storage buildings. Shortly after being built, they suddenly beame inaccessable. Seems like the reason that the buildings have such big footprints is that workers require some space on all sides of a building.
But! Barley??? Did I miss some new patch? Or is that a modded ressource?
ChunkyBluntz 25 Feb, 2018 @ 2:29am
oh forgot to add, I did find that I cannot grind barley into flour at the grindstomes, not sure if they are supposed to grind that aswell...
ChunkyBluntz 25 Feb, 2018 @ 2:23am
Hey, forgot to give an update, been busy, I got the grindstone working, thankyou, rebuilding it seemed to do the trick, it might have had somethign to do with having it backed against a hill... am thinking it needs to be backed to a building or something where they can walk behind it to not get cut off from the worker. I will mess with different builds as my town grows to test this, thank you for this great mod...
ChunkyBluntz 14 Feb, 2018 @ 9:54am
Thank you, and I never did tear it down and rebuild I will try that tonight... and I will build a new one in a spot I can remove it from
MEGADORI  [author] 14 Feb, 2018 @ 3:49am
ChunkyBluntz - Thanks for your input, it is helpful, even hough after trying to solve the mystery in some tests, I can't seem to reproduce the issue you are having. But with some additional information, I think we can get to the heart of it :-)
- Does the problem occur on all of your grindstones?
- If you have only built the one, did you try deconstructing and rebuilding it?
- Did you try to pause and then unpause the building?
- Did you try unassigning all millers and re-assing them via the building window (not the village overview - it should generally not make a difference if the number of workers assigned is equal to the number of jobs, but assigning workers in the window of a specific building does seem to prioritize that building, so it could make a difference in your case)
- If you start a new game and only build a grindstone, does it have the same problem?
ChunkyBluntz 10 Feb, 2018 @ 7:44am
Totaly understand the questions, soemtimes we miss the small thigns when looking. The worker is assigned but the grindstone still says 0/1, it refuses to accept the worker available. The grain is like 20 meters away in the half full barn that has no flour in it yet... I can access the grindstone myself in manual control of the worker, yet when I back away they go idle again... It seems the grindstone is not recognizing the Miller as the right jobset... Going to mess with it more when I get the chance.
MEGADORI  [author] 9 Feb, 2018 @ 2:57pm
ChunkyBluntz - That is a strange problem which I don't seem to be able to reproduce. So, just to be very sure, allo me to go through the usual causes for such problems:
Is the worker unemployed (as in unassigned, the grindstone sais 0/1 worker) or is he/she idle (assigned to the grindstone, but not doing any work)?
If the first is the case: Is your grindstone workplace accessable? Is it paused?
If it's the second: Is there enough grain in a barn that's not too far away from the grindstone? Is the resource limit for flour reached?

Sorry if I am annoying you with these questions, but is is surprisingly often that problems with any kind of mod have a very simple solution :-)
ChunkyBluntz 9 Feb, 2018 @ 12:06pm
I am finding one issue with this mod that is making it impossible to use right now... When I place a worker in the jobset that lines up with the grindstone, they wander around with a symbol over them saying they have no place to work, instead of using the grindstone I already built... I have moved the mod to both the bottom and top of my mod list. And have taken other mods out that I thought might be interfering, better breads being the one I had suspected, but taking that out did not fix the issue... I can still choose 'make bread from flour' in this mod and that works, I just cannot place a worker on the grindstone itself... ohyeah I even started a new game with only this mod active and could not get the worker to use the grindstone still.

Great work, Megadori! It looks awesome near the backery and not so big like the mill. I made a german translation of this mod, if it is ok for you?
MEGADORI  [author] 9 Nov, 2017 @ 3:06am
Hogweed Blitz, I am glad you like the mod, but I won't change the production time, here is why: My mods are meant to increase variety, not to substitute buildings, and I want them to be realistic and not like cheats. It would just be illogical if turning a grind wheel by hand would produce flour as fast as a mechanical wind powered mill. You can't expect hand work to be as fast as machines, and if a village is big enough to need lots of pies, the people should rellay get a mill (which also produces more flour out of the same amount of grain, by the way) The buildings will also produce more and faster after doing the researches in the castle.
That being said, you can of course alter the recipe to your liking, you already found the right line for this in the lua. Just lower the time or change whatever else you like - if you just adjust numbers, you probably won't mess anything up. And even if you do, you can then just delete the mod folder and it will re-download.
Hogweed Blitz 9 Nov, 2017 @ 12:18am
Hi MEGA! Thanks for a great mod! Is it possible to alter the time it takes? If it is too l slow, its going to waste a precious worker on something that will drag production. I just want it to be fast enough that i dont need to build that big mill, and yet keep production of pies going at a steady clip. I thought it would just be the Time = 6000 in the craft_grindstone.lua, but I dont want to mess up the Mod since i am not sure what it will take.
MEGADORI  [author] 7 Nov, 2017 @ 3:11am
lepetitcapo, thank you :-)
The grindstone is meant to be a realistic alternative to the windmill for smaller villages. I don't think that the windmill looks oversized in a town of big houses, hostels and taverns, or on a hill surrounded by cornfields. But you are right of course and some variety would be great. Unfortunately, I can't make madels or animations, and a mill building with a hand/horsedriven wheel and a pit with the millstones would require both. I was also asked if I could do a water mill, which I had to turn down for the same reasons.
Sorry to disappoint - maybe a modder with more advanced skills might take up the task :)
Let's Play History 7 Nov, 2017 @ 2:42am
Your mods are great work, usefull additions to the limited vanilla buildings.

I wonder if you could make a more realistic windmill than the gigantic vanilla one (maybe like a post mill or kinda) and a well which has actually a hole into the ground (maybe a draw well with a shadoof/well sweep). Would be appreciated!
zencc2011 25 Sep, 2017 @ 2:25am
finally working, great work guys for fixing this. again great mod! :)
MEGADORI  [author] 24 Sep, 2017 @ 9:33am
I see! That was unexpected :D I don't think the values for raw materials and produced materials can be set seperately, as all materials also go into the same storage area.
But I have just increased the storage to 150, that should solve the issue I hope :-)
Thank you for looking at it. I will also check my other mods to see if the same problem could occur.
ZyankHali 24 Sep, 2017 @ 9:23am
Finally found out why the workers don't work. Since I use a mod to increase carrying capacity the worker put 100 grain into the storage of the grinding stone. 100 is also the max. capacity of the building set in the lua.

Since 1 grain produces 2 flour production was not possible (result would be 101 resources). Is there any way to set the resource limit of the raw material apart from the overall building capacity? That could solve issues for buildings, that actually increase the amount of resources by producing more than they use.
MEGADORI  [author] 24 Sep, 2017 @ 4:02am
Thank you once again Sir Foxy. I don't know why I didn't try this. Works like a charme. I thought the limit category is read from the resource that is set for production, as it does on the fields...? But seems like it's not.

Please re-download if you still have any problems.
However I am not really sure if the problem of the workers standing around has to do with the limit category, because in the tests they produced flour even when it showed 0 in the building. http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1144861953
So the other problem might have other causes. Thank you for letting me know if it persists!
Sir Foxy 24 Sep, 2017 @ 2:02am
Add “self:setWorkMode(BLD_MODE_WORK_RES, "flour")” to the initialize function of the grindstone. I don’t know exactly what this function does, but when added, every newly built grindstone will be set to the flour limit.

I dont touch that zero and she works away grinding flour has done over a 1000 bowls of flour currently over 900 bowls no problems. Suggest you guys dont touch the resources limits sorry to hear your having issues I must be lucky touch wood.
Nakia 23 Sep, 2017 @ 11:44pm
Tested grinding stone and zencc2011 is correct. Limit is set to 0 and game crashes when I tried to reset. Sorry but a bug needs squashing.
Jaunitta 🌸 23 Sep, 2017 @ 11:43pm
Mine works?? The quota is zero I have never touched this and she grinds the flour as I watch I can see the bowls appear how many she does and then takes it to the barn.

Sorry to hear you are having problems try exiting steam
zencc2011 23 Sep, 2017 @ 11:00pm
about the working standing and doing nothing, there is nothing stopping the worker from producing flour, just the storage limit is 0, and the worker will not make any because it has reached limits.
zencc2011 23 Sep, 2017 @ 10:51pm
the game will crash if you try to increase the storage cap in the interface.
also the miller is doing nothing because the storage limit is 0. great mod but not working.
Jaunitta 🌸 23 Sep, 2017 @ 7:25pm
Villagers standing still in any situation I find is because they have nothing to do. Maybe no grain to mill. Check in the villagers working info menu any builders still listed there with a zero requirement. Remove them to free. Do you have a Windmill as well as the grinding stone? The mill will take the grain and it may still register in the village info stored items.
If the barn is too far away they may not go get the stored grain. I also found there is sometimes a discrepancy of amount of food items registered in Village info and the small hut and the barn combined.
Exit Steam fully and relaunch then load your save game. This often fixes these if any updates available and refreshes the game cache. Try not to play for more than 3 hours without a full exit.
MEGADORI  [author] 23 Sep, 2017 @ 6:55pm
Sorry you are experiencing problems!
Abaout the limit display, yes it is a bug but I have no idea why and under what circumstances it appears. It seems that it is on all newly build grindstones (and kitchens) first, but disappears after a few productions. But not on all of the grindstones, no idea why and I am sorry that I can't fix it :(

An about standing the workers not doing something, is there anything in their way? Sometimes they try to access the table from behind. Could you maybe try to deconstruct the building and build a new one, see if it works then? I would also be interested if you can make them work in First Person View or if that dosn't work either. I don't really know much about programming and every clue is helpful
MarceWPG 23 Sep, 2017 @ 6:13pm
Good job and thanks for improve the game with this great mod.-
zencc2011 23 Sep, 2017 @ 5:47pm
this mod is great but not working on my game. the miller just stand there and doing nothing. is this broken?
ZyankHali 23 Sep, 2017 @ 2:17pm
For whatever reasons the Grinding Stone shows the upper limit for flour at 0 (global is 10.000), trying to change it causes the game to crash without recovery. And the workers don't seem to produce anything (says 3 min, waited a for a looong time).

Might conflict with another mod. Did anyone out there happen to experience the same?
MEGADORI  [author] 22 Sep, 2017 @ 4:21pm
Added an option that changes the bread recipe in the bakery to use flour instead of wheat. The option is disabled by default. It is probably not compatible with other mods that change the baking speed of, baked amount of, or ressources needed for bread.
MEGADORI  [author] 22 Sep, 2017 @ 8:21am
Haha sorry, can't do anything about that :D One the other hand, they ARE brand new ^^ Go and use them :D
