I have also found out that if you set "GB_CAM_MAX_FILLING_CLAMP" to "0.0f" you indeed no longer have coloured political overlay, BUT also no overlays in other map modes, so this is not really advised.
If you do want the (political) overlay(s) to appear later (zoomed out more) I advise you to try out my other border mod: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/workshop/filedetails/?id=1224294852
2. Yes I think we're both talking about the same thing, but just to make sure were on the same page, I'd like to see countries look like the 4th picture for this mod while fully zoomed out.
3. I ran into a bug where the color that shows how many factories are in a state is not rendered so I just see the terrain.
2. I havent't modded the files for a long time but I think it is possible to completely remove the political overlay color, if that's what you mean.
Theoretically it's possible but there would be gradients again all over the place, which kind of defeats the purpose of this mod tbh.
Hmm, it's possible to remove gradient borders altogether. If you want to disable them when zoomed in, for example, you need to do the following:
1. Open folder "\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\394360\1132450213" on the drive where you installed HoI 4.
2. Open "gfx\FX\constants.fxh" in the included .zip file with notepad.
3. Search for "GB_OPACITY_NEAR" and change it from "0.8f" to "0.0f".
4. Save everything.
Note: You have to repeat the above steps when my mod is updated.
Unfortunately you cannot see the actual borders when zoomed in, then. You can only see province borders.
If you want to see just big black borders you would have to change stuff in "standardfuncsgfx.fxh", I guess. But I think I lack the modding skills to tinker with this file ;)
