FYI: In my modlist the 'SkirmisherMelee' ability needs to be added for Skirmisher slash attacks. I'm not sure which mod is responsible for replacing the Reckoning ability with this, but I must have this ability in the [Rend the Lost] mod for the action points to be refunded.

I had this mod on and a skirmisher couldn't equip a ripjack because reckoning skill is required

If you want to disable the Reckoning perk from showing up in the skill tree what worked for me was going to DefaultClassData.ini in the game files and commenting out (AbilityType=(AbilityName="Reckoning", ApplyToWeaponSlot=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon)), \\

@Phoenix If you check the description, they mention that the Reckoning perk is effectively useless, and does not give you the ability twice.

Sorry to ask, but is there any way to disable the Reckoning perk from showing up in the perk tree? I really love this mod but I feel like having two slash abilities is unbalanced. I guess I can choose to just not take the perk but I'm worried I'll do it by accident.

The reckoning perk allows you to use your slash ability twice... far from useless :)

I edited the ini file to increase the damage bonus; however, after restarting the game, the damage is still showing the same value as before the edit (the value of the wrist blade damage from the core game weapons ini file). Any suggestions on what to do?

Could it add skulljack too once it is unlocked? You see a skirmisher use his claws as a skulljack in the intro video when you first meet him.

Nice mod. Is there a way you could make it so that reckoning adds +1 damage, +2 pierce and remove slash's once-per-turn restriction or something like that, so there's a reason to go for it?

That's a good idea and it's close to something I was thinking of making as an alternative to this mod: Essentially I'm thinking of making a weaker 'Rip' attack that is baseline that would be little more balanced. And then later on you can upgrade to 'Rip & Tear', which would be a stronger replacement skill; perhaps a two part attack like rapid fire or something. Haven't decided yet.

Im not sure if balancing was really a concern with this mod, but I feel to make it a bit more "balanced," perhaps while you don't have retribution, the slash attack either uses up the whole turn or has the 6-turn cooldown, and as soon as you get Retribution, it takes up 1 action and has no cooldown perhaps?

This should just be added to the base game. I mean, if you've got wolverine claws, you should be able to use your wolverine claws.

@Moola I kno this isn't what your mod is about. And i've been trying to figure it out myself and still havn't been able to. But i tried editing the files to allow the reckoning skill to headshot the lost with the Rend the Lost mod. And i've had no success with modding it thus far. Would i be able to get your help with this at all? Thank you in advance.

@Gladi8tor Open up the config ini file for Rend the Lost and edit it to the following:

[XComGame.X2Effect_TheLostHeadshot]
+ValidHeadshotAbilities=SwordSlice
+ValidHeadshotAbilities=Rend
+ValidHeadshotAbilities=Reckoning

That should make it work like a headshot.

is there a way to implement that this mod work with the headshot mod for against the lost? so you can use slash multiple times during lost missions?

@Moola Templars have Bladestorm, they just unlock it after. Also, I think that's way too op, bladestorm is fucking incredable!

@Circle of Psi - Not sure how easy that would be as Bladestorm probably specifically tells the game to use the Slash ability, not just whatever melee ability you have, and Slash would probably bug out if you gave it to Templars as they don't have the correct animations.

You could probably clone the Bladestorm ability and re-write it to work with Rend though.

Something I found out by accident that's, combined with RealityMachina's Skirmisher Rebalance and 20+ mobility, turned Skirmishers into an 'I win' button, is that if you take Reckoning anyway, you get two Slash abilities, both of which have only a 1-turn CD.

Why not set the cooldown for Reckoning to one turn? That would fix the issue.

Give Reckoning +Dmg or Aim modifier to Slash like Blade Master from Ranger? Seem to be fitting that way.
