sisco  [author] 26 Oct, 2017 @ 2:39am

myspacio 26 Oct, 2017 @ 1:48am
@sisco it will say "The terrain here cannot support this"
sisco  [author] 25 Oct, 2017 @ 9:08am
any terrain can be replaced by another

@myspacio ive never noticed that ill have a look
Pamparampampamparam 23 Oct, 2017 @ 1:39pm
So this can build over shallow and deep water of both the rive and ocean variety?
myspacio 23 Oct, 2017 @ 5:11am
Very nice mod, can you add changing ocean water tile too? It wont work on ocean tile. Thx!
sisco  [author] 16 Oct, 2017 @ 5:22pm
@bear it should only bring out the sand once from any tiles built before the update I can't get it to miss behave anymore
sisco  [author] 16 Oct, 2017 @ 4:21am
@bear yes i tried that i got errors saying it dont understand for it means :D
sisco  [author] 16 Oct, 2017 @ 4:17am
updated today to hopefull fix it had no option but to remake smooth terrains might cause a ton more sand but all other issuses are now gone
sisco  [author] 7 Oct, 2017 @ 4:49am
@bear the sand was kinda expected I've done my damnest to try avoiding that been caused couldn't help it sorry sorry sorry lol the bonus was left sat at -1 for a week or so it's at zero atm I'll get that back easy fix the lack of xp is even more puzzling there's no reason for it not to be given lol but yeah I'm kinda stuck I keep tinkering and probing trying to work out what I'm missing it's broken my game many many times over trying lol
sisco  [author] 5 Oct, 2017 @ 6:52pm
Interesting it is odd how the game makes the terrain to start with it might well be down to that think I might have to give in and just build it from scratch rather than use the premade version which wouldn't be replaceable I'll play some more
Future93 5 Oct, 2017 @ 5:44pm
@sisco
Unfortunately, something wrong happens.

Except the red error log at starting that reminds 'Adding duplicate Verse.TerrainDef name: Sandstone_Smooth (or other stone floor types)', Also some other problems occurs. When building terrains, existing smooth stone floors (those created by smoothing stone terrains) cannot be recognized, and translated labels of these origin smooth stone floors are not showing correctly.

I think this problem may caused by the special way to define stone floor types, since I realized that they are not independent terrain types, but a combination of many different characteristics, such as 'sandstone' + 'smooth' etc. (but I'm not sure about it).

Anyway, still I have get the localization files done, and also adding a simple traditional chinese localization support. I will upload it to the same repository soon.

quickrick1 3 Oct, 2017 @ 8:49am
does building snow lower the temperature?
Future93 2 Oct, 2017 @ 7:29pm
@sisco
Glad to hear this. I found these defnames in localization files for the game, since they are used to connect translated labels and origin labels together. Cannot locate them directly in any file inside the 'def' folder of the game though.
Please tell me if there is anything else I can help.
Cheers.
sisco  [author] 2 Oct, 2017 @ 11:21am
nah its good im just trying to take it step by step and hopefully save you some work :)
nice find how did you find them
Future93 2 Oct, 2017 @ 10:19am
@sisco
The ingame defname for the five smoothed stone floor are <Limestone_Smooth><Sandstone_Smooth><Marble_Smooth><Granite_Smooth><Slate_Smooth>
When I tried to simply replace the defnames in the mod with them, warning appears when launching the game, reminds that 'Adding duplicate Verse.TerrainDef name'. However, these floors do can be built ingame correctly, and the game will recognize existing smooth stone floors and prevent blueprints being put on them.
Hope these information can make some help.
Cheers.

@sisco
I can understand what you are worrying, and I think I should apologize for any of my words and behaviors that makes you feel offensive. Anyway, please be aware that I do want to provide some help instead of any trouble.
By the way, I am also digging in, and about the problem you mentioned, if I didn't get things wrong you are trying to find origin defname of these rock floors uses ingame, I think I am coming close to the answer. They could be Granite_Smooth, Sandstone_Smooth or just something like that. I am now editing localization files and will upload them soon after a simple test.
Finally, please don't hesitate to let me know if you want to update the mod. I am always glad to update localization files to fit your changes, anytime now or in future.
Cheers.
sisco  [author] 2 Oct, 2017 @ 8:40am
im still fairly new to this aswell my thinking is get this stable and working right before translating and adding it in case i need to cheep changing it ive still not got the internal game naming right yet so any changes i make will result in terrain turning to sand thats why ive not given you my link to git hub or anything yet
Future93 1 Oct, 2017 @ 9:12pm
@sisco
Please check localization files at https://github.com/future93/-Rimworld-Buildable-Terrain-A17-v2-by-sisco

Nothing changed in 'About' folder.
In the 'Language' folder, there are files for Simplified Chinese localization.
In the 'Defs' folder, there is nothing but your origin file of the mod. I have made some small changes to make the localization files able to run correctly. Please compare it with your own file.

I do need to apologize for posting your work by my github account, but since I don't know yours, this is the best way I can find to deliver these files to you. I will delete this repository after things finished, or I can reach yours.

Cheers
Future93 1 Oct, 2017 @ 7:22pm
It should be "the translated one" in the fourth line. Sorry for the mistake.
Future93 1 Oct, 2017 @ 7:20pm
@sisco
I am not a programmer, so please forgive me to explain the problem with unprofessional words. The spaces in defname will cause them no able to be called/quoted/used in xml files other than the one contains it, and thus will cause related lables unable to be translated by localization files (I can't call the defname correctly, and so I can't link the origin labal and the translated on together correctly).
I will try some other methods to avoid this problem, but the most simple way to solve it should be remove these spaces in defnames. In your case, only the spaces in the five newly added rock floor defnames will cause troubles.
Cheers.
ZackIsTheDevil 1 Oct, 2017 @ 10:29am
@sisco your better off not add the option to mining soil or collect water unless people are more into a hardcore and realistic version or rimworld like you should make a soil pump that effects and removes deep waters then this would be a good mod to add
sisco  [author] 1 Oct, 2017 @ 10:01am
why do you need to change the internal game name only the lable will need changing wont it ?
Future93 1 Oct, 2017 @ 8:51am
Hello sisco
Translation is almost done. Please consider to remove all of the space in defnames (for example, <defName>smooth sandstone</defName> ----> <defName>smoothsandstone</defName>), since currently these spaces may cause troubles for these defnames to be recognized in localization files.
Cheers.
sisco  [author] 30 Sep, 2017 @ 1:58pm
well stone floor has been added its pre smoothed do report any issuses
Future93 28 Sep, 2017 @ 3:54pm
@sisco

I'm glad to wait for your new update.

By the way, there is no need to care about coding issues, thanks to a software written by someone else I can easily generate localization files for almost everythings in typical mods (sadly maybe not those in dll files).

So after you finish on updating the mod, please just give me some time and a channel so I can push the localization files to you (I recommand github), and all the rest is to put the files directly in the mod to add new language support.

Anyway, I am looking forward to your new update and please don't hesitate to tell me when you are ready to add chinese localization.

Cheers.
sisco  [author] 28 Sep, 2017 @ 12:05pm
first and foremost had a few issuses crop up this week not been able to get much time down for modding making the stone floors is looking like its not going to be as simple as other terrain types im hoping i an crack on this weekend i want it done its bugging me

@future93 ive never done such an addition before not sure how too yet let me try and get these extra floors down and ill start looking at it as other content is added i might need more translations doing for it if your willing to keep that side updated it would help make sure it stays a worthwhile addition

Future93 25 Sep, 2017 @ 11:51pm
@sisco Hello sisco: Thanks for creating this mod. I have made a simplified chinese localization of this mod, and I think it will be great if these files can be added into the mod officially by you. If you can kindly accept it, please provide me a github connection or other methods you prefer so I can deliver the localization files to you. Kind regards.

The natural floors are the prettiest in the game :)
+1 on wanting natural stone floors
sisco  [author] 23 Sep, 2017 @ 5:26am
fair point really i didnt know if there was a demand for it dont think it was ever asked for till now and i dont use such terrains i just build floor i want over it so i never thought of adding it now a fews asked its worth doing

ive had a play around with adding them might not be a simple add which might explain why the original never had them now ive a couple of hours spare ill get stuck in hopefully wont take long
Copper Boltwire 21 Sep, 2017 @ 4:17pm
I'm sure i could do it myself, but i mean, you already got the mod made this far, why not go the final few steps and just allow people to build all the natural terrains?

1 slap, many flies died? - or something...
sisco  [author] 21 Sep, 2017 @ 4:16pm
theres clearly a few that would like it so ill get them added
Copper Boltwire 21 Sep, 2017 @ 3:54pm
Request: List of Terrain's buildable.
YEah okay a bit trvial, even with the image, but still a request none the less.

Also, as of writing, i'm about to go to bed, so i just like to know, and hopefully get an answer before playing tomorrow: Can i build rough stone too?
Katejsej 20 Sep, 2017 @ 7:36am
That is great. :steamhappy:
sisco  [author] 20 Sep, 2017 @ 7:19am
@kohana if a few more ask for it i can add them
Azrael 19 Sep, 2017 @ 5:09pm
Since you aren't the original author, would you think about adding the natural stone terrain to this mod? I would be so eternally grateful if you could.
sisco  [author] 17 Sep, 2017 @ 4:52am
yep
Elite Rice Farmer 16 Sep, 2017 @ 2:11am
V Got it, can i place it on top water?
sisco  [author] 15 Sep, 2017 @ 7:21am
@col.james it will so long as you wernt trying to build any tiles or have too many built most that are will try to turn into sand usually if thiers too many tiles it can crash otherwise its fine
Elite Rice Farmer 13 Sep, 2017 @ 10:44pm
Does it work with save game? (That doesn't contain older version.)
