A temporary workaround is to strip the rain camo from the pbo and add it to units wearing M88 uniforms by using this setobjecttextureglobal [0, "rain.paa"] . You just need the camo from the mod in your mission folder and named rain.paa or whatever you want. You will get no problems from doing it this way. I have no problem with people taking the skins out of the pbo and using them in whatever way works. I give you full authorization to use it in whatever way you want to facilitate a mission.
At some point soon I will release all of the source textures that I created and anyone will be able to apply them to whichever uniform they wish.

I would be so happy if you could fix this as quite a few people I play with have been dying to do some East German Missions.
But a re-texture of the M1 helmet in GREF to give it a fabric cover would be a first and give you a lot to work with. Just a thought.
(my list includes basicly all Soviet allied communist states so i won't make the whole shit now and only give Afghanistan as my first suggestion although i hope you are willing to make more later :p)
if you don't tell me i have a kinda decent sized list of suggestions being a Warszaw Pact fan :p
And in regards to the update I've been working on for a while: the motherboard on my computer died and so I didn't have a computer for a few weeks. Thankfully I was able to salvage the hard drives and didn't lose any data. I'm going to add some more camo, some of which may require a RHS GREF or SAF dependency, and then release it.

these people are making both east germany and west germany along with german radio protocol (voices) and custom vehicles.

no
@TotallyCommunist
i could try, but you should look at the soviet armed forces mod for rhs. it has a lot of that stuff already in there.
@FNG
i'm working on the polish right now along with bulgaria, hungary, romania and some non warsaw pact.
@zui
yeah as long as the m56 has a version of the model with a helmet cover on it, unless you want it "painted" on the steel.
@we_wuz_kangs_n_shieet
@Silas
yeah i'm gonna do ammo bags, helmets, hats, vests, backpacks etc. after i'm done with the uniforms because then it'll be easy. all i have to do is copy paste the camo ive already made over the new object. the pain in the ass/hard part is that i have to make my own templates for every object. the rhs team could make it easy by releasing template .psds but they wont.
@Harry Schnodder II
it would require modelling skills to add the grass, but theres a SSh-68 in the soviet armed forces rhs mod that looks almost exactly like that, minus the grass. it has the netting on it.
If you can, a field cap in rain camo would be a really nice thing to have. No pressure. Good luck with the mod, and thanks again.
i would get an instand stiff cock if i could see those vests and ghillie helmets in arma 3
Let me know if you have better sources or advice on how to make it closer to reality. Maybe you lived in these countries, served in the military there or have real life surplus examples. It really helps a lot because a lot of the time I have to rely on just one or two random pictures off Google or Camopedia.
I always found it great looking on that beauty of a tank (sorry, T-72 fanboy here :P) You reckon you could also add NVA roundels and such?
Maybe I'm wrong, but both East Germany and the Soviet Union used olive drab until between 85 and 88 when they started painting lines over the olive drab after Soviet experience in Afghanistan. I think the NVA had winter-painted vehicles before then part of something called the "winter guards". I assume you're talking about the late 80's camo here and not the winter camo: http://www.panzerbaer.de/colours/a_relaunch/nva_verzerr.htm
Their vehicle camo isn't very complex it's just a few lines added on top of the olive paint job with spraypaint so it shouldn't be too hard. I can't add the East German rubber side skirts for the t-72 although I wish I could.
It has all kinds of patterns, even patterns just used on parachutes or experimental patterns, and almost every country with a camouflage pattern (something that is at least a variant of another country's pattern counts) and photos. The photos have a watermark but they're useful to find other pictures as a reference.

There's also a harmless error when saving a mission with this mod running which says something about "config patches". I know what causes this and I plan to fix it quickly as well.
