Could you make m69s?
Jim Beam 26 Apr, 2019 @ 12:21pm
Hello do you possibly have retexture templates for the M88 Uniform?
Blutze 17 Apr, 2019 @ 11:27pm
For the error reported by Stella (half a year ago, look at me being slow), you simply need to fill out missing pieces of your CfgPatches header. Just add "units[] = { };" and add the one uniform that is missing in the weapons list there while you're at it.
StellaStrela 28 Mar, 2019 @ 1:20am
The helmet is from the RHS GREF mod
DomeFish 27 Mar, 2019 @ 1:31pm
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but where would I find the M56 (East German) helmet depicted in the first screenshot? It doesn't show up anywhere with the mod enabled, and I desperately want a full East German character but can't find anything more than this.

What is the Camera prop in the first Photo

Thank you :D I didnt realise that setobjecttexture worked on units :) I'll use that in the mean time

I was unaware that that error affected dedicated servers. I'm sorry for the trouble. Configs are not my specialty, I'm more skilled with dealing with the actual textures. I'll do my best to fix it soon. I just have a lot of things that I'm dealing with in real life that make it difficult right now.

A temporary workaround is to strip the rain camo from the pbo and add it to units wearing M88 uniforms by using this setobjecttextureglobal [0, "rain.paa"] . You just need the camo from the mod in your mission folder and named rain.paa or whatever you want. You will get no problems from doing it this way. I have no problem with people taking the skins out of the pbo and using them in whatever way works. I give you full authorization to use it in whatever way you want to facilitate a mission.

At some point soon I will release all of the source textures that I created and anyone will be able to apply them to whichever uniform they wish.
StellaStrela 10 Jul, 2018 @ 12:23pm
Hiya I really like the Mod, but unfortuantly I'm having troubles when I have it loaded on a dedicated server, as its throwing an error up that causes the server to fail to load any mission. Even ones that dont actualy use the uniforms.

Warning Message: No entry 'bin/config.bin/CfgPatches/pog_camo.units' .
Warning Message: No entry 'bin/config.bin/CfgPatches/pog_camo.units' .

I would be so happy if you could fix this as quite a few people I play with have been dying to do some East German Missions.

Hello! May i ask if you're still working on this mod?
Silas 28 Apr, 2018 @ 11:33am
First, I really enjoy your work, thank you very much for sharing it! There are a lot of possibilities, including OD green or woodland/ERDL patterns, ever popular around the world. I'd love to see Colombian tigrillo camo(a color swap of duckhunter), but that's not communist camo.

But a re-texture of the M1 helmet in GREF to give it a fabric cover would be a first and give you a lot to work with. Just a thought.
wHATALLAH 15 Apr, 2018 @ 3:51am
i would also love to help if you helped me learn ;)
wHATALLAH 15 Apr, 2018 @ 3:51am
I would Say try to make the afghan DRA service uniform (a plain grey uniform) if possoble you could use a RHS russia cap to reskin tino a grey afghan army cap and a soviet helmet having the same skin as the Afghan dress Picture of DRA units: https://www.google.no/search?q=afghanistan+army+1980&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiX2ZyzjbzaAhUJiSwKHYBvAugQ_AUICigB&biw=1920&bih=963#imgrc=KYDpSiAymE15tM :
(my list includes basicly all Soviet allied communist states so i won't make the whole shit now and only give Afghanistan as my first suggestion although i hope you are willing to make more later :p)
76561198192726397  [author] 15 Apr, 2018 @ 2:25am
well what are your suggestions
wHATALLAH 15 Apr, 2018 @ 2:11am
would you mind adding other Eastern bloc uniforms?
if you don't tell me i have a kinda decent sized list of suggestions being a Warszaw Pact fan :p

I have no experience with modeling, only texturing with the very specific skill of taking a small and poor quality sample and being able to tile it into a complete material for use on clothing or whatever else. I wish I could fulfill your request, but I do not have the ability to. If someone were to help me in making models I would be more than happy to include it.

And in regards to the update I've been working on for a while: the motherboard on my computer died and so I didn't have a computer for a few weeks. Thankfully I was able to salvage the hard drives and didn't lose any data. I'm going to add some more camo, some of which may require a RHS GREF or SAF dependency, and then release it.
Barnett 9 Mar, 2018 @ 3:02pm
@we tortured some folks - Evening. l was wondering if you had any intention of creating some type of greatcoat for the units? To my knowlege, there have been none made, even in WW2, Vietnam, or more modern periods, which l find incredibly suprising, given the scale of all of the communities involved.

these people are making both east germany and west germany along with german radio protocol (voices) and custom vehicles.

Can you make a full east german faction?

wow. fantastic mod.
76561198192726397  [author] 10 Dec, 2017 @ 6:18am
i need a sample of fabric if anyone can help me. i need hungarian m1949 and m1949/82 (1949 M háromszínü sátorlap-esögallér). it was the most widely produced camo in hungary for a while, but theres no good pictures i can work with online. if you live in hungary and have some lying around i could use a nice high resolution pic of it in a well-lit room. try and get it from a 90 degree angle with the fabric totally flat and do not use flash.

@STRANNIK
no

@TotallyCommunist
i could try, but you should look at the soviet armed forces mod for rhs. it has a lot of that stuff already in there.

@FNG
i'm working on the polish right now along with bulgaria, hungary, romania and some non warsaw pact.

@zui
yeah as long as the m56 has a version of the model with a helmet cover on it, unless you want it "painted" on the steel.

@we_wuz_kangs_n_shieet
@Silas
yeah i'm gonna do ammo bags, helmets, hats, vests, backpacks etc. after i'm done with the uniforms because then it'll be easy. all i have to do is copy paste the camo ive already made over the new object. the pain in the ass/hard part is that i have to make my own templates for every object. the rhs team could make it easy by releasing template .psds but they wont.

@Harry Schnodder II
it would require modelling skills to add the grass, but theres a SSh-68 in the soviet armed forces rhs mod that looks almost exactly like that, minus the grass. it has the netting on it.

soviet insignia patches
ᛣ Munin ᛉ 7 Dec, 2017 @ 8:51am
can you also add some soviet flags to the tanks etc
FNG 11 Sep, 2017 @ 9:35pm
Do you think you could add the Polish?
Silas 9 Sep, 2017 @ 4:17am
These are awesome, thanks!

If you can, a field cap in rain camo would be a really nice thing to have. No pressure. Good luck with the mod, and thanks again.
Woozle 8 Sep, 2017 @ 3:46pm
Do you think you could do a stritchtarn helmet cover for the RHS M56?
Zhenja1 6 Sep, 2017 @ 7:31pm
On a seperate note, when you decide to do the western aligned , could you keep in consideration ERDL and a retextured us m1 steel pot helmet in ERDL and woodland camo.
Zhenja1 6 Sep, 2017 @ 7:28pm
Can you retexture the ammo pouches for the East Germans to raintree ? and the strap to grey like so? https://media.midwayusa.com/productimages/880x660/Primary/201/201187.jpg , the east german helmets should also be a more grey like color, but I understand these are just uniforms, love the initiative though and its a welcome change , you are doing great.
UncleStas 5 Sep, 2017 @ 3:10pm
These look great! Looking forward to see more!

i would get an instand stiff cock if i could see those vests and ghillie helmets in arma 3
Lara Alffen 5 Sep, 2017 @ 7:31am
@UncleStas you know im living in east Berlin and so on im very excited seeing east german soldiers in ArmA again! I know there was a huge cold war mod for east and west german soldiers in ArmA 2 too! I would find it great when you could add a bit more stuff to this little retexture mod like backpacks or so :steamhappy:
76561198192726397  [author] 5 Sep, 2017 @ 7:30am
I fixed the epaulets/buttons, reduced brightness on Rain and Elm, altered Elm's color balance and added a new "Rain" family camouflage called "Needles". I'll probably change Elm slightly again in the future.

Let me know if you have better sources or advice on how to make it closer to reality. Maybe you lived in these countries, served in the military there or have real life surplus examples. It really helps a lot because a lot of the time I have to rely on just one or two random pictures off Google or Camopedia.
Lara Alffen 5 Sep, 2017 @ 2:33am
Really good ... would prefer more east german skins :D
UncleStas 3 Sep, 2017 @ 9:44pm
Yeah, i was reffering to the late 80s grey-black-olive drab ammo in the link you posted http://ftr.wot-news.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/VA-wot-greet-and-meet-212.jpg

I always found it great looking on that beauty of a tank (sorry, T-72 fanboy here :P) You reckon you could also add NVA roundels and such?
76561198192726397  [author] 3 Sep, 2017 @ 9:22pm
@UncleStas I could try to attempt it at some point.

Maybe I'm wrong, but both East Germany and the Soviet Union used olive drab until between 85 and 88 when they started painting lines over the olive drab after Soviet experience in Afghanistan. I think the NVA had winter-painted vehicles before then part of something called the "winter guards". I assume you're talking about the late 80's camo here and not the winter camo: http://www.panzerbaer.de/colours/a_relaunch/nva_verzerr.htm

Their vehicle camo isn't very complex it's just a few lines added on top of the olive paint job with spraypaint so it shouldn't be too hard. I can't add the East German rubber side skirts for the t-72 although I wish I could.
UncleStas 3 Sep, 2017 @ 3:27pm
Finally some non-Soviet WP Cold War camos! Looking forward to see what you add next! I want to ask though, are you thinking of also doing vehicle retextures? Because i'd love to see T-72Bs with East German camos
Woozle 2 Sep, 2017 @ 2:45am
Finnally someone has made RHS rain camo!
76561198192726397  [author] 1 Sep, 2017 @ 12:09am
The camo itself is relatively easy to do after spending so many years in photoshop (I just have to remember to shove the brightness and saturation down really low), but the configs for uniforms really confuse me. Vehicle and unit configs don't really phase me, but the fact that you need to create units that don't exist in-game just in order to add different camouflage to a model already in the game tests my patience. If you, or anybody else, has any experience with that, or C++, I have a few things that need clarification mostly in regard to uniformclass. I had to split this comment into two because Steam and its 1000 character limit stinks.
76561198192726397  [author] 1 Sep, 2017 @ 12:08am
Yeah, I love camopedia. It's really helpful. It's how I found out about Cuban Elm Leaf. Like you said, the watermarks make the samples unusable, but they're good helping me know what I'm looking for. With more obscure camo, like Elm Leaf, I have to start with a tiny sample image of about one square foot of fabric or less and then tile it while keeping the "leaves" at the appropriate size as they would appear on the clothing in real life. I then either leave it as is if it looks alright or, in the case of Elm Leaf, use the spot healing brush tool along the borders of the tiles so it doesn't look jagged or patched together.
jeger 31 Aug, 2017 @ 8:01am
I would suggest the website Camopedia.org
It has all kinds of patterns, even patterns just used on parachutes or experimental patterns, and almost every country with a camouflage pattern (something that is at least a variant of another country's pattern counts) and photos. The photos have a watermark but they're useful to find other pictures as a reference.

I totally agree with you. It should be much more subdued. The reason why both are brighter and more vibrant than normal is because when I converted the textures from png to paa for use in the game for some unknown reason it increased their brightness and saturation. I plan on fixing this within the next day or two.

There's also a harmless error when saving a mission with this mod running which says something about "config patches". I know what causes this and I plan to fix it quickly as well.
jeger 31 Aug, 2017 @ 4:44am
The rain looks a little bright to me, I could be wrong but in the surplus jacket I have and the pictures it was hard to tell the stripes from the solid colour if you were beyond twenty-ish meters but I don't know much on the pattern myself.
