How did you do the skybox lighting? I need to know to provide locational lighting, preferably parrelel light rays for shadows and the alike

It's all made using the tools ns2 comes with Sir Picdino. Have a look on the official ns2 forums for some guides on how to use them.

Outdoor seems just fine. If you made some wormholes in the outdoor area, then monsters could just run through them and suprise-attack humans. So a map like this doesn't occasionaly need to be human sided map

This map look slike it is outdoors, or has an outdoor area, but I have yet to play it :( I always wanted more outdoor maps in NS2. I remember the develoeprs saying that there were issues specific to creating large outdoor areas, but I remember a few good NS1 maps (Starsiege) with some fairly medium sized outdoor areas that ran just fine. I hope a mapper or two will create something similar for NS2 *pray*

Had a match on a full server, awful experience, sorry. Too many bugs, lerks biting us through walls, gorges biling from outside of the map, rooms taht just don't work.

Looks beautiful. This game is lacking more diverse environments. Kinda boring when every level seems like a sterile metal warehouse.

I cant see an outdoor map being balanced without some kind of visual hinderance, like treetops or whatever. Flying a lerk in the open would be very problematic, and most alien play relies on there being a lot of dark corners to hide in. Would make a great mvm map though

Instead of a bluesky desert-like skybox, might i sudgest the skybox from ns2_veil (alteast i believe it is veil. Im thinking the map w/ cargo, pipeline, control, sub sector and tech points and nano as a double res node.) That skybox has a clear-sky feel in a dusk hour; keeps a fair amount of light in the skybox so this map wont be in the dead of the night, and may be something to fit your needs.

Yeah looks cool but you will need like a pilar in the middle of the outside so aliens can kill tha JPs. But it looks awsome.:)

I got a look at it and see a lot of problem balence wise the biggest being it is a turtle map but if the mariens actully push out of base and get to that super long hallway outside of spawn not even an onos could survie that much sustained fire. Also the doors above the vent are bugged and go through the wall. I like the idea but It needs work.

Hmm seems interesting I will have to take a look. I'm just worried that it will be marien heavy but heck you could have balenced it out with more rts for all I know. Will post back once I get a good look at it.

Hi everyone, thanks for feedback! :)

Anon90 - I used the NS2 map editor of course :) it will be in your c:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\ns2 folder, and it is called LaunchPad.exe then select editor.

Creeper_do_big_boom, could you please post a screenshot of the bug on the ns2 forums? I see if i can fix it :)
