Does this work for LWOTC? because LW2 and LWOTC conflict but this mod marks LW2 as a dependent file

Ollanius Pius was more than a mere guardsman, just saying :lunar2019laughingpig:

No problem, message me if you have any other questions. I'll try to help where I can.

dang, good to know. and yeah, Windows. thanks for the help.
Blue Zergling  [author] 20 May, 2018 @ 8:22pm
Assuming windows, use the normal file search tool and type in part of the mod's name, then open file location. There should be a file or folder in the src folder that corresponds to the mod's name.

The way workshop sorts things is terrible, but you can sometimes guess since the number corresponds to the chronological order the file was originally uploaded. Problem is that even when steam deletes the mod's files when you unsub, it leaves the folder with its upload number, so things get messy fast.

no worries. Shoulda figured I'd need to look up the reddits and such. Got Notepad++ earlier, actually, so at least I'm somewhat prepared. Just wish it was easier to figure out what mods are where in the files. all I have for the workshop file is a series of numbers as file names.

Honestly, I mostly used my sparse knowledge in programing and goggle-fu to figure out most of it. I think the XCOM 2 Mod reddit has some tutorials. Also, Notepad++ is a useful tool for opening up existing xcom 2 files to look them over (and it should be free).

Also, I think XModBase (a "mod" for adding more things to class mods) has good enough documentation in its Examples file to be helpful for you. Sorry I can't be more help :(

sorry to bug ya about this again, but could you reccomend any video tutorials on how to mod/edit existing mods for XCOM 2? I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeeeally green when it comes to this.

thanks, man. Just wanna make sure; I've seen some stupid crap happen thanks to ppl forgetting to credit others' work...or ppl lying about someone stealin' their ideas and getting good stuff taken down.
Blue Zergling  [author] 19 May, 2018 @ 5:06pm
@The Tactical Exorcist I'm fine with whatever, especially on the LW2 mods I did. Mentioning me is always nice, but it's fine if you don't or if you forget. Most of what I did was based on vanilla mechanics or other mods, so yeah. Break it down, figure it out, make it your own, whatever. It's all good.

hey, I'm kinda lookin' at starting up modding, but I was wondering if I'd be able to use your Guardsman template to figure out how things work. Obviously, if I post the finished results, I credit you with the original (before/after GW for obvious reasons), so...if ya wanna talk things out in-depth, could ya let me know?
Dwatch Razgriz 7 Feb, 2018 @ 1:51pm
Selectable in vanila...but unusable as the abilities are all missing (even with the LW perk pack installed)

Update on Commissar: I have successfully killed my own dudes. Just need to add visualization and the kill buff and it will be live!
AAAAAAAAAAAA 27 Aug, 2017 @ 4:58am
going to test it , looks good on paper though.

Inquisitor is definitely something I'd be interested in. Astartes maybe, but I'd like to have a fitting armor mod for them before making something that. Eldar are probably lowest priority (xeno scum), but if it's easy to implement I'd certainly do it.

A disclaimer, I am not particularly talented. I'm just decent at repurposing existing assets and tweaking them to what I want. Innovation, not invention.

As for a non-LW2 version, maybe once WotC is out and I have a copy, but nothing is planned currently. I'd basically need to cut out or rebuild half the perks, which I'm not super keen on.

Hey Rookie Slime, this looks like an awesome class and I too am a big 40k fan. I have a few ideas for some 40k themed classes and I've been looking for a talented modder who might be able to help me with making them become a reality! Any chance you might be interested? I have an Astartes Class, an Eldar Class, and an Inquisitor Class with full custom perk trees written up.

Also, any chance of a non-LW2 release for this mod? Thanks again man!

@Ah I need a medic bag They sort of intentionally weak like that. Most of their power is backloaded onto the last two - three tiers, so until they at least hit Sgt, their meant to be rather weak/disposable.

As for immunity to panic, that defeats the who purpose of Commissars! If guardsmen can't panic, who's the Commissars going to shoot to ensure proper discipline?

Side note: Turns out, making an ability to shoot your own dudes is slightly less straightforward than I'd like. I have that ability and 2 perks to finish before the Commissar is complete.
8 seconds of bleed 25 Aug, 2017 @ 10:48pm
this class is rather underpowered, his/her starting perk is something a gunner gets as a sideshow to area supression. How about giving the guardsman immunity to panic?

@Insufferable Smartypants In regards to strength... Maybe too strong? Comparing to Rangers, they lack the sudden burst damage from saw offs and normally have lower aim and will. The guardsman support tree makes them jacks of all trades and the ow tree is probably straight up better, but I think Rangers still manage to pull ahead in damage due to crit damage perks.

That said, play with it and let me know, I can always make them weaker... I mean, do guardsmen really need bonus hp?
Blue Zergling  [author] 25 Aug, 2017 @ 6:16pm
@Salkin51113 Will do!

Commissar is about 70% done, just need to implement and test a few more things.
Fischy 25 Aug, 2017 @ 1:54pm
pls add a screen shot of the talant tree
WaKKO151 25 Aug, 2017 @ 1:33pm
testing. 1 2 3...
DewFuel 25 Aug, 2017 @ 10:51am
disposable when fighting chaos space marines, not so much against mutons and sectoids
Insufferable Smartypants 25 Aug, 2017 @ 9:49am
For being described as disposable soldiers, they sure sound... strong. Very strong. Not that I mind strong soldiers.
