Great map, only problem is that the strategic resources need greater values than one.
YungSliv7 24 Jun, 2018 @ 11:02am

(please help)
SEVEN MINUTES 5 Jun, 2018 @ 11:30am
Do you think you could release a version of this with a lot less resources?
DJRodizzle  [author] 25 May, 2018 @ 7:48pm
@GalacticReggie There's some fish and salt to compensate (at least that was the idea lol), but Vvardenfel is where most of the map's uranium is. Plus I don't think there's many starting locations in that region anyways
galacticreggie 25 May, 2018 @ 7:52am
It would suck to start off in Morrowind, look at all of that Tundra.

sakatagintoki - he clearly answers that in the description
Vardges97 17 Nov, 2017 @ 2:20pm

Vardges97 17 Nov, 2017 @ 12:24pm
thank you whoever did this
Stultus 14 Nov, 2017 @ 5:50pm
how do i get these to work?
OlivesAndPears 6 Nov, 2017 @ 8:19am
Update: apparently ESO agrees with this new map's river layout for Morrowind. However, ESO's map seems to be bereft with continuity issues. Seriously, where the fuck is Blacklight?
OlivesAndPears 5 Nov, 2017 @ 7:34pm
I also found this map, which has no labels, may be easier to identify features:

Finally I found this map:

I really like it! I would personally defer to Tamriel Rebuilt's map of Morrowind for the river layout on the mainland (what a great mod, by the way!) but hey, it's your map. All my damnable nitpicking aside, remember that the final decision comes down to your own preference.

(had to cut that comment in half - apparantly that whole schpiel was more that 1000 characters?!)
OlivesAndPears 5 Nov, 2017 @ 7:28pm
I have now had the opportunity to play the map somewhat.

I would have to agree with a lot of the poeple that have commented about the jungle areas, especially in the Lower Nibeney valley area. There is simply too much. I would reccomend changing that to forest, with small patches of bare grassland here and there, from the bank of the river all the way into western Argonia.

Also concerning the Nibeney Valley, there are a number of inlets in that region are are coastline tiles. While this does illustrate the incredible size of the Niben, it makes the region unreasonably difficult to navigate. For gameplay reasons, I would change them to regular rivers.

@A Homestuck Fantroll Appears?! That makes a lot of sense and your suggestions are really great. I will make sure to redefine Morrowind's borders and move the locations of the mountain ranges during the next edit. Again, thank you for your awesome feedback! I greatly appreciate it!
OlivesAndPears 30 Oct, 2017 @ 8:38am
Actually, looking at that mountain range again (I have now determined that they are called the Valus Mountains) the east end of that range is too close to Lake Andaram. I would pull it down a few spaces, there should be more room for former Hlaalu territory there.
OlivesAndPears 30 Oct, 2017 @ 8:31am
My main reference for Morrowind is the Tamriel Rebuilt map (which admittedly, is from 3E 427) and the southern region hasn't gotten its exterior design passover yet - its just a height map right now, and a rough one at that. However, I do know the rough shape of Morrowind's border. In medieval and renaisssance times, borders for countries were defined by natural features - for example, much of Italy's northern border is defined by the Alps. This is present in TES too, somewhat - basically all of Skyrim's borders are mountain ranges! So while I'm not 100% sure about the location of some of these features (nor could I be, with the inconsistencey of TES maps) it would make sense for much of Morrowind's border to be defined by the mountains. Morrowind's border slopes down smoothly toward Tear, so I figured the mountain range would do the same.
DJRodizzle  [author] 29 Oct, 2017 @ 11:14pm
@A Homestuck Fantroll Appears?! I rechecked the maps I used for reference and it was hard to tell, but I do believe it should be more marshy and less mountainous on that coastal region. I'll look more into your other suggestions and see what other maps I can find. Thank you so much for your feedback! I definitely want to make it as lore friendly and accurate as possible, while still maintaing gameplay balance.
OlivesAndPears 29 Oct, 2017 @ 6:38pm
One more thing on the topic of Morrowind:
Near the border with Black Marsh, there's a lone mountain near the coast that shouldn't be there - it should be marshy instead. Also, for the mountain range that leads up to it, I would recommend you take the "corner" you have in the southwest of that range and fill it in toward the northeast a bit. Other than that I would say make High Rock just a little less mountainous, and maybe pull the Imperial City down south by 3 or 4 tiles.
DJRodizzle  [author] 29 Oct, 2017 @ 2:38pm
@Caligula No, But I will work on adding some!
@Darkbibou That was kind of intentional, but next time I edit the map I will keep that in mind and add a few more hills and iron resources. Thanks for the feedback!
@A Homestuck Fantroll Appears?1 It is supposed to be in the 4th Era, but yes, there should be more plains and less tundra through the Morrowind mainland. I will definitely change that in my next edit. Thank you!
OlivesAndPears 27 Oct, 2017 @ 5:10pm
Also, regardless of if this map is 4th Era or not, the Velothis District in western Morrowind should not be wasteland, mostly plains.
OlivesAndPears 27 Oct, 2017 @ 5:07pm
Is this a map of Tamriel in the 4th Era? If not, I would suggest toning down the wasteland factor in and around Vvardenfell. There were lush jungles and rolling plains abound on the island before the Red Year. The ash wastes were only surrounding the immediate area around Red Mountain, and in the Molag Amur region in the southwest.
Darkbibou 16 Oct, 2017 @ 1:43pm
This map has a nice shape but when you start in the jungle, you are basically screwed because of the lack of hills.
Caligula 12 Oct, 2017 @ 1:34pm
do you have any ingame pictures of it or shots of closeups of the map?
DJRodizzle  [author] 8 Oct, 2017 @ 6:43pm
Okay, thank you! I'd love to hear more feedback. I'll keep that in mind the next time I edit the map! @Mr. Skeltal
Trashmann 8 Oct, 2017 @ 12:59pm
Thanks for the feedback! The thing is I did get Catherine near Morrowind but I'm only in the Renaissance Era but I'll report back how much resources I get endgame so I can help to improve future creations.

Though on the multiplayer perspective, I would put down the Uranium for Gold or Silver for production because multiplayer is basically Morrowind+Catherine is nuclear holocaust.

Thank God I didn't end up fighting Gandhi.
DJRodizzle  [author] 8 Oct, 2017 @ 12:34pm
I tried to put so many strategic resources that it really wouldn't matter if you had 100 or 200 irons, in the case of any other civilization vs Catherine. Also anyone that starts or colonzies Morrowind is going to have most of the uranium, but it should be spread out evenly everywhere else. But yeah, Catherine + Morrowind = Nuclear Dominance. That's another reason to conquer/colonize that area sooner ;) @Mr. Skeltal
Trashmann 7 Oct, 2017 @ 10:21pm
*Plays as Catherine* Wow, not OP at all!

No seriously, I love this map but Catherine has a great early to mid game do to Siberian Riches allowing her plenty of Knights and Longswordsmen. Jump to Modern to Future Era and she has a the largest Nuclear Arsenal.

Again, not OP as Fuck.

You should have a folder labled "Sid Meier's Civilization V" in your "My Games" folder somewhere in your documents. In the Civ V folder there's a folder titled "MODS." Go into that and select "Map of Tamriel" and then copy and paste the map file into your folder titled "Maps" @CownbroGaming
Shasquel 7 Oct, 2017 @ 7:03pm
where is the mod folder and which map folder
DJRodizzle  [author] 7 Oct, 2017 @ 1:03pm
Go into your mods folder and copy and paste the map into your map folder. That should work, if it doesn't let me know @Dr3ad

@Canadian_Hobbit Thank you!
Autumn 24 Aug, 2017 @ 2:07pm
Holy crap this is amazing! Best Tamriel map I've ever seen!
DJRodizzle  [author] 20 Aug, 2017 @ 11:11am
@Khan There is enough space and starting areas to accomodate the maximum amount of players, but it also works well with as little as 8. Entirely depends on how much open space you want or how long you want to wait in between turns. Thanks!
Khan 20 Aug, 2017 @ 8:28am
Recommended amount of players?
