@rockymelendez1982
Im not sure any default recipes require water...Could you tell me which ones?
I imagine you are using a mod of some kind which makes recipes more realistic or something.
R o c k y J e t 30 Jun, 2013 @ 11:49pm
I love this mod but some recipes require water. How do i obtain water in Skyrim. Thank you -)

I found a mod where the player can build his or her own merchant stand (Adura's Merchant Mod - Player Shops) and sell through this stand his products. But thanks for your reply, I will try your mod!
John Helldiver  [author] 8 Feb, 2013 @ 5:57am
@Highelf:

To be honest that would be too complex. Every NPC would then essentially be a merchant who you could trade with. Too complex.

Instead of selling direct to the public, maybe you should role play as a cook employed by a local Tavern. If, say, you have a house in Winterhold, then cook at home (or at the local Tavern) and sell the food directly to the Publican (whoever runs the pub). This simulates you supplying the tavern, and it also simulates you getting paid for your job.
Highelf 8 Feb, 2013 @ 5:46am
Can you make us sell the food directly to the people? As a speechoption?
[TW] RCH 12 Jan, 2013 @ 1:59am
yeah, excellent work! I also want to make a mod like this, since many "Delta" from cooked food are negative values... that's stupid!
John Helldiver  [author] 4 Jan, 2013 @ 10:01pm
Load up both files and see what the conflict is, if there is one. Then fix it. Never heard of that mod though. This mod only changes the value of food items, so i doubt it would be incompatible with any other mod.

If you wanted to use the prices in my mod, just make sure its loaded below the other one. If you dont want to use my new prices, then why would you subscribe to it..?
☠RAIDER☠ 4 Jan, 2013 @ 6:32pm
how can you make this compatible with imp's more comlex needs?
John Helldiver  [author] 9 Dec, 2012 @ 4:11am
@MindQuad

Discussion of this idea is covered elsewhere in comments. In short: Yeah ive got some ideas about how to do it effectivly. Might get around to doing it some time.
CosEnc 8 Dec, 2012 @ 4:58pm
@spooky spudeater I've always wanted a mod just like that! I don't know much about scripting but I think; if you wanted, it could make a great project to work on?
Barkie Woofington 8 Dec, 2012 @ 3:14pm
@MindQuad that wouldnt banalnce right since food is a lot easier to make then potions.
Barkie Woofington 8 Dec, 2012 @ 3:13pm
@sppoky spudeater Im guessing that would be ver yadvanced and hard to do. It would be a cool add-on tho. Like theirs a buildign you can buy in major towns that you choose what you want it to be. Then you can make it a business with your idea.
Autocontrarian 8 Dec, 2012 @ 2:38pm
Have your considered making a mod that improves the effects of cooked food so it is a useful option compared to potions? It could synergize well with your current mod giving food in general much more utility.
Based 8 Dec, 2012 @ 9:04am
id like too see inn managment(building the inn and then hiring people and developing your own little buisnes)
Dima 8 Dec, 2012 @ 7:42am
very nice work
DC 8 Dec, 2012 @ 12:29am
Wonderful mod! Thank you! I wsa also frustrated about price on ready meals in this game which never covered cost of ingridients.
John Helldiver  [author] 7 Dec, 2012 @ 10:31pm
Oh okay. Well, since i probably wont do that myself, id encourage you to simply mod something like that yourself; to fit your personal taste. Changing simple things like item value is very simple to do, just incase youve got no experience with the Creation Kit.
Kozolbaran 7 Dec, 2012 @ 9:03pm
That's a valid argument. I actually meant that maybe you could increase the price of bread, although I realize that my wording implied otherwise. Food in general should probably cost more, not just the food that Dovahkiin can make himself/herself. ESPECIALLY during war time.
John Helldiver  [author] 7 Dec, 2012 @ 5:52pm
@Козёлбаран:

I didnt want to mess with any ingredient prices. On the issue of salt, Salt is actually a fairly difficult-to-come-by ingredient. Skyrim has no obvious salt-plains so id wager that they have to import most of it. Use that justification for keeping the price if you want :D

@(People discussing food buffs):

Ive got a good idea, i think, for how to improve the value of food. I dont mind discussing it here, even if someone decides to steal the idea and run with it. My idea is to make food like beds. Sleep on a bed, get a buff for a few hours (8) which increases learning to represent you being well rested. Food could probably get a scripted buff too. Maybe something that lasts an hour or two and also increases learning to represent running on a full belly.

Something like that maybe. Ive looked through the Kit, and i think this is fairly simple to implement (despite not knowing much about Bethesda's new scripting format).

"Dragon Born you have just saved the world what are you going to do now?"

Dova'kin:"I'm going to become a cook!"
Flavoured Silica Gel 7 Dec, 2012 @ 1:16pm
This is one kind of simple mod though. But it´s one of the best ones I´ve seen.
Kozolbaran 7 Dec, 2012 @ 1:16pm
Good mod. Can you fix some of the other food prices that make little sense as well? For example, salt should not cost as much as bread, in my opinion.
Sartheris 7 Dec, 2012 @ 12:02pm
rofl @Morgaledh :D
Utopolis 7 Dec, 2012 @ 10:32am
I totally agree on the subject that food should have better impact than it currently has. All you currently need are potions, no food at all. It would be so much more fun if it pays to gather the needed ingredients and cook food yourself. I hope you could expand this mod with more usefullness from the food. Thanks in advance for considering at least :)
Captain Seasick 7 Dec, 2012 @ 7:43am
No! No! No, no, NO! Don't use/buff instant healing effect on food in this/another mod! Instead, make it like it was in Age of Conan. Food and drinks there didn't heal instantly, but rather increased max health and added regen.

I mean c'mon. IT MAKES SENSE! A well-fed bloke can take a LOTTA more punishment before kickin' the bucket, compared to someone who's basically starving! Relatively speaking, at least.
John Helldiver  [author] 7 Dec, 2012 @ 7:05am
@vTaZy:

Give me your Level and Speechcraft. Sounds like you arent having much luck.
mike yo 7 Dec, 2012 @ 6:10am
Okey, cant even make profit!
Salt costs 5 gold and a pheasant breast 8 gold for, when i cook a pheasant roast i can only sell it for 4 gold? 9 gold loss.. ._.
Enter The Mirror 7 Dec, 2012 @ 2:52am
Looks fantastic, thanks!
Q ™ 7 Dec, 2012 @ 1:45am
Excellent idea. Thanks for sharing it !
John Helldiver  [author] 6 Dec, 2012 @ 6:59pm
Thanks guys, hope you enjoy it.

@DoubleWonderful: I too often look at the benefits of food and think that things could be improved. No promises, but i might think of something to make them comparable and useful.

It might not be something just like increased regens. Maybe something that extra that you cant get from potions.. Hmm.
DoubleWonderful 6 Dec, 2012 @ 4:59pm
I was just about to request a mod like this! Great job! Haven't seen the price scaling yet but I'm a believer already. I wonder if you could increase the health/stamina benefits for eating food, the default of 2-10 HP has made it completely impractical to drag food into battle to replace potions.
Edog 6 Dec, 2012 @ 4:46pm
awesome mod!
1A Gaming 6 Dec, 2012 @ 12:52pm
This detail should have been in Skyrim already. Since it is not, I'm glad [SVFT] gave us this mod. Modders don't just make females look WAY hotter, they make games make more sense. Thanks! :)
_ubaldo 6 Dec, 2012 @ 4:48am

John Helldiver  [author] 4 Dec, 2012 @ 12:10am
Im online a lot :/
Enjoy the mod. Its not much, but i like the little details.
Bad RS 4 Dec, 2012 @ 12:09am
Excellent! Thanks for the near instant reply. :)
John Helldiver  [author] 4 Dec, 2012 @ 12:04am
Nope. It literally only changes the gold value of the cooked foods.
Bad RS 4 Dec, 2012 @ 12:02am
Does this conflict with mods that alter the properties/buff values of food?
Squirrel1256 2 Dec, 2012 @ 9:34pm
I really like this mod!
Rhowin 2 Dec, 2012 @ 5:12pm
Oh.... okay.... lawl
John Helldiver  [author] 2 Dec, 2012 @ 4:24pm
@That Warrior From Hammerfell:

I find that the simple mods can add just as much as a well designed complex one. Enjoy.
gojira 2 Dec, 2012 @ 8:43am
@firegallee22 Yes it is...it has been for, like, a month...
Rhowin 2 Dec, 2012 @ 8:26am
Hearthfire isn't for PC yet... isn't it?
eldritchsyntax (hammerfell) 2 Dec, 2012 @ 7:55am
What a clever yet simple idea.
