No healing while taking damage

The main reason i made the patch was because i noticed you could still use items while on cooldown, meaning they would be wasted. I'm not sure if it's possible to code in some kind of item disabling for a specific thing like a bandage, but then what about modded healing items as well? Might be too complex.

I could have made it even shorter like half a second because your healing effect still gets removed. Could even just remove the cooldown altogether. I might do this if i feel it's necessary but for now 1 second seems reasonable. I'll probably change it to shorter if people get annoyed by the chance of wasted items.

Sorry for the long ramble lol, have a good night.

Yeah, go ahead

Hi there, just popped in to say i modified your mod slightly so there's only a 1 second cooldown. With your permission i would like to upload it to the workshop. At the moment i just have it for personal use.

Exactly good mod and great idea!
Regret at needing an update!

Really great mod, actually makes the game more challenging.

Maybe you want you to consider create a companion mod that removes Healing Items from crates and chests, while increasing the amount of items necessary for Crafting them.

This would amp up the challenge a lot. :cozyjunimogreen:

Game is too easy when you can outheal everything.
BenjiElGato 14. juli 2018 kl. 18:14
Yes healing while taking damage.
Vanake14  [ophavsmand] 23. feb. 2018 kl. 8:12
Probably not.

Does anything go wrong if you uninstall it?

LOVE this mod. Subscribed forever and never looking back. A must-have for everyone who doesn't want the game to be too easy due to heal spamming. You can easily achieve decent combat regeneration anway by having your hunger bar full, red stimpacks, and healing staffs. And even a bed when it's possible to place one.

A very great idea for balancing the game

i see your point now but im still not using it but i wont be a bitch about it
Vanake14  [ophavsmand] 5. jan. 2018 kl. 1:41
It's needed because the game is too easy with all the heal spam (in my opinion).
Evil ass eyeball 4. jan. 2018 kl. 16:41
how would this be needed
Ickura 17. okt. 2017 kl. 18:28
Why is this so underated? WE NEED THIS
!??! 22. aug. 2017 kl. 10:47
Thank you so much, I always disliked the heal spam.

No problemo. Still great, makes the gamer harder like I always wanted. :D
Vanake14  [ophavsmand] 7. aug. 2017 kl. 7:02
Yeah, this mod just stops the existing healing effect from working when taking damage so you can still heal behind cover or when you manage to dodge everything.

Because I just tested here and I can use the medkit while in combat and after taking damage, even without any healing effect... like I use the medkit for no reason, you know.

I'm not sure about how the combat system works, but maybe make the Healing Item usable only after killing all enemies (what in theory should exclude the fall damage).

Anyway, just some suggestions for future updates. :D
Vanake14  [ophavsmand] 7. aug. 2017 kl. 6:50
This mod already blocks healing items for 3 seconds after taking damage while healing.
So you can't really spam all of your healing items away in a second.
Making healing items unusable in combat would mean quite a long wait after taking damage which means even when you take fall damage, you'll be without heals for however long the "combat" effect lasts.

Any way to block the use of Healing Items as well, so we don't spend medkits and stuff for no reason? This plus the block of healing effect would be awesome!
Vanake14  [ophavsmand] 7. aug. 2017 kl. 2:29
Yeah, I'm not gonna change this mod much.
We were talking about stopping the player from beaming up while in combat for another mod because Worb has self control issues :P
Alb 6. aug. 2017 kl. 17:28
If you have the time to duck behind cover and patch yourself up, that's fine enough. You don't need to check if the player is "in combat" to apply more artificial restrictions. I like this mod the way it currently is.
Vanake14  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2017 kl. 5:06
I thought about that, but I don't know how to apply the restriction or even find it... If you have any info on that, let me know.
The combat detection would basically be applying the restriction for X seconds when you've taken damage.
Xaliber 6. aug. 2017 kl. 4:49
@Vanake14:
But were you able to detect whether the player is in combat/not? I was thinking if it'd be possible to detect that, then apply the same restriction that forbids player to teleport if underground.
Vanake14  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2017 kl. 4:27
Welp, can't do it. Teleportation is unmoddable.
Vanake14  [ophavsmand] 6. aug. 2017 kl. 1:42
Hey, nice idea. I'll see what I can do.
Worb 5. aug. 2017 kl. 14:20
Would you consider the idea of making another thing just like this that prevents you from being able to beam up while in combat? It's so easy and not-scary to just jump into the air and nope out with a single button press, immediately healing back up to full for free... I can't stop myself from doing it.
Family share dimi 5. aug. 2017 kl. 11:28
Makes this already easy game a bit harder.
warmainiac 4. aug. 2017 kl. 12:53
i like this idea, it could make challenges.
