Super tiger is the Alias/gimmick of the original Tiger Mask, MMA/Shootfighting forefather Satoru Sayama,

after he departed from active wrestling in NWA/WWF and New Japan in 1983, going out on top with two Jr heavyweight titles on his shoulders.

in 1984 all japan wrestling bought the gimmick and used it for the 2nd tiger mask, AJPW ACE and NOAH founder, Mitsuharu Misawa. at that time Sayama was still doing matches for a company known as UWF or universal wrestling federation, and would come out with a silver and purple tiger mask, as SUPER TIGER, having amazing matches with the likes of akira maeda and yoshiaki fujiwara.

nowadays the moniker "super tiger" is now used by yuji sakuragi, one of sayama's personally trained wrestlers in his own promotion RJPW or "REAL JAPAN PRO WRESTLING"
