Long shot question: I'm on PopOS and I'm trying to find the content I subscribe to for this program. This item does not appear in the workshop folder when subscribed to (frankly none of them do). I subscribe and click brows local files to find the workshop folder in my steam folder. Does anyone know what to do? Is it because I'm using Linux?

I thought it said in the terms of use for rpg mv that its illegal to use stuff from other versions unless you own both versions and there for anybody without vx ace shouldnt be using this stuff. I "might" be wrong but I doubt it. Im making a commercial game so I re re re read license information.

Ok then; never mind. I obviously didn't know what I was talking about, forget it.
No big deal.

@Epic Tails I uploaded it here as it's all of the VX Ace maps and database entries converted into MV. If I put under VX Ace, it would be unusable by VX Ace users. I do get where you're coming from given the title though.

After all, I don't want to come off as a know-it-all........

You know, it would probably be a better idea to post this in the
RPG Maker VX Ace section on Steam instead. I don't think many people
would know that this is even here given that it's from VX Ace. Not critisizing;
just giving you some advice. Heed it or don't, it doesn't matter to me.

RPG Maker VX assets are public domain. Stop whining.

@stephan.liennard: I am well aware. My comment was addressed to Pickle Rick R-17 who did not seem to understand these samples. As they only provide the database entires and not the VX ACE assets, these samples should not violate the RPGMaker eula; and thus should be allowed on the workshop.

By the way, if anyone wants to convert the VX Ace RTP into MV, they have to multiply the image size of each asset by 150% (using something like Photoshop or GIMP), with the resampling set to "Nearest Neighbour" (This stops the image from distorting too much). I didn't do this for the RTP, as I felt that it was broadly a waste of effort anyway, as stated in my above comment. Rescaling assets can still be useful if you are transitioning your project from VX Ace to MV, but only if you are using custom/DLC assets (as some DLC assets are not yet available in MV format).

@vgma2 - The main purpose of this is to provide the database entries and sample maps. Not everyone has the time to create an entire database from scratch. It also gives beginning MV users a solid starting point, as there isn't much default database material in MV. Also, the VX Ace assets are actually too small for MV, as VX Ace uses 32x32 pixel tiles, as opposed to MV's 48x48. And for the most part, the MV RTP is just the VX Ace RTP upscaled anyway, so it makes no actual difference whether the VX Ace graphics are included or not.

@Pickle Rick R-17: But can you really say that this has any actual assets?

This only contains the database entries which anyone can replicate on their own. The database entires do reference the original asset files, but the actual assets aren't there at all and require the user to manually import them from VXACE if they wish to use them.

while many may appreciate this it does go against the RPGMaker eula. Meaning you are only allowd to use the VX Ace (or any other RPGMaker) Assets in another RM version if you actually own the copy of RM that you are using said asswets from. IE you want to use the stuff from Ace in MV you should make sure that you ownBoth programs. Not trying to be a downer just throwing that out there.

If I already have VX Ace do I download this? I want to use the music as I like it better but I don't know what this does exactly? Thanks for putting this up for everyone!

@FoxiePrincess
In order to get the files into your project, you have to find the download folder and copy/paste the files into your projects game folder. The project folder is usually found in your Documents/Games.

You have to do the same with the DLC, but the workshop and DLC files are found in the Steam Folder in your OS files. Just copy and then paste them in the project's files, into the same folder names that you found the files.

This is an issue that all users of RPGM MV have to put up with, and for most users that don't know how it gets vexing.

It is not an update, it is a project with all those stuffs. It is good if you wanna use it in a new project.

You may find it in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\363890\

there may have some other folders. This project can be found somewhere there. In my computer is the folder 1084716244.

I subscribed to this, but none of the samples are available in MV for me to use. I tried restarting it and creating a new project, neither worked. Is there some prerequesite that I need to do?

Everything that comes whenever you create a new project in RPG Maker VX Ace is included here, so the music should as well. If not, let me know:steamhappy:
Yamin4 2 Aug, 2017 @ 1:02pm
Does this include the music?
