Hi nitram!

I tried the other two computers. The same symptoms.
My own attempt, but did not vary in a number of ways.

Other way unless the existing methods can not.

The file is uploaded to my blog.
Those who want to will be able to be downloaded through the search.

I personally regret.
I had vainly bother you.
And Thank you.

Hi nitram!

You said "workshop_donotdelete" folder did not exist.

I did all the things you described.
Nevertheless, the situation is the same.

I link to the translated files.
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-a35e05d4.html

I'll try again on a different computer.
Then I'll tell you again.
nitram  [author] 25 Oct, 2012 @ 6:47am
minipol, can you also check that you don't have any firewall that could avoid the game to send data to the Internets.

To check that, you can try to run the game in windowed mode (choose "Res 80% (win)" from the options and press Enter.

Then while the game is trying to send some data to the Workshop, maybe a window will pops out, asking you to authorize some operations from the application.

You can also try to run the game in administrator mode: right click on icon/shortcut > "Run as Administrator"

Sorry for all those bugs :/ Can't wait to subscribe to your work!

You can also send me your zipped language folder, so I can run test on it (but I don"t think that the problem comes from your files).
nitram  [author] 25 Oct, 2012 @ 6:39am
Hi minipol,

Thanks for your tests!

1/ Can you tell me if you ahve a "workshop_donotdelete" folder in your language folder?
(C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\blocks that matter\custom_languages\datas\ko) (assuming that "ko" is the tag you choose).

2/ If "workshop_donotdelete" exists, what's inside the folder? (name of the files)

3/ If it exists, you can try to remove the "workshop_donotdelete".

4/ Can you try again by double clicking the "BTM_DBG_launcher_win_bis.bat" in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\blocks that matter, instead of double cliking the desktop icon?
Then re-submit your language (with the "workshop_donotdelete" folder deleted before you submit)
minipol 25 Oct, 2012 @ 3:27am
Hi nitram!

1"BTM_launcher_win.exe" or "javaw.exe" or "java.exe" no running processes => OK

2 I run the game icon on the desktop.
Of course, the steam client on the state.

3 Steam overlay
http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=104572527

Result: Same

On my computer, the problem does not seem to
But I do not know why not.

Something else cause the problem exist?

Part2 (it wasn't fitting in the 100 characters limit)

NO ID TEXT FOUND errors:
Those errors are "normal".
In fact it's due to the Dialog Database not being cleaned correctly.
Since you don't have access to this database, it's not your fault.
I should clean the Dialog Database, because it tries to reference texts IDs that are not existing anymore. Hopefully those "dialog referencing outdated texts IDs" are not used in the game.

Thanks for pointing that out! I'll remove those dialog from the database!
nitram  [author] 25 Oct, 2012 @ 12:54am
Hi minipol!

It's a weird issue you have.

Can you try to:
1/ Make sure that there is no "BTM_launcher_win.exe" or "javaw.exe" or "java.exe" in your running processes (accessible with Ctrl+Shift+Escape) when the game is not launched. If there are any of them, just kill them!

2/ Make sure the Steam Client is launched. If you are using the .bat to launch the game, I think you can access the Texts/Dialog debug viewer without being connected to Steam.
So maybe the the game is not connected and then it thinks the item has been submitted to the Workshop.

3/ Make sure you have access to the Steam Overlay while in the Texts/Dialog viewer editor (Shift+Tab by default). If you have not access to the Overlay, shutdown the game, try restarting the Steam Client, and relaunch the game after that.

Hi nitram!

hit F5 and in the middle of the screen is displayed as "Submitted to Workshop! Press F6 to see Workshop page."

However, by pressing F6 does not work.

Below the "NO ID TEXT FOUND" will be displayed on the editor.

"DLG_TEST_PORTRAITS" (49/58)
"DLG_THANKS_1" (51/58)
"DLG_THANKS_2" (52/58)
"DLG_UPGRADE_DRILL1" (53/58)
"DLG_UPGRADE_DRILL2" (54/58)
"DLG_UPGRADE_DRILL3" (55/58)
"DLG_UPGRADE_PUZZLE" (56/58)
"TXT_DLG_TEST" (57/58)
"TXT_DLG_TUTO_01_STEP_01" (58/58)

But, 'Text.xml' do not have this dialog.
nitram  [author] 24 Oct, 2012 @ 5:27am
Great Bennievv!

That's our fault, the editing system is not very cool because you have to take care of the syntax.
We will do better tools for next games!
Ben 24 Oct, 2012 @ 1:11am
Thanks, it helped!

I accidentally typed &anp; instead of &
nitram  [author] 24 Oct, 2012 @ 12:50am
Hi Bennievv!

If the game is always switching back to "en", it means that there is an error in your Xml file.

To help localize this error, you can follow the step 11/ above (in the description).

If you are using a Mac, just run the game normally, and launch the "Console" application next to the game. It will log in that Application.

Here is a recap screenshot:

If you want me to have a look to your Text file and help figure out what's going on, just email me the xml file at guillaume at swingswingsubmarine dot com.

Thanks!

Hello nitram!

I was working on my Dutch translation.

But some minutes ago, something strange happend:
when I switched the language to "nl"n and pressed [ENTER], the language switched back to "en"!

Can you help me?
nitram  [author] 23 Oct, 2012 @ 2:24am
Hi minipol!

When you are in text viewer/edit mode (http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/560954765820826711/07CD16EC412D8CABD3C81EB1F2991C461949A6FB/) ,

just hit F5 to submit your file to the Workshop!
You'll see a yellow text ("Submitting to the Workshop...") in the middle of the screen. Just wait until it disappears.

Then hit F6 if you want to open the Steam overlay on your Item in the Workshop! (to add description or changes texts, add images)

I realized that I didn't talk about it in the tutorial! I'm going to fix it!
Thanks!

(I think the users that submitted their file see the shortcut in the Help Menu (F1)).

Hi nitram!

File translation was completed.
But the file "Steam Workshop" How you do not know what to upload.

Thank YOU so much for translating the game!

And you know where to reach me if any question or problem come to you!
minipol 15 Oct, 2012 @ 4:52am
Hi nitram!

Succeeded!

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=102827381

Linked file, the letter did not express.
So I'm a little disappointed.

However, due to the "Screenshots" and "BabelMap" I was able to find the correct position.

But, the readability of the font is not good.
I will find and apply good font.

Currently the fourth degree was translated.
When finished, I'll upload.

Thank you so much.
nitram  [author] 15 Oct, 2012 @ 2:56am
Hi minipol!

Here is what I was able to experiment with your font:
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-72686b62.html

(screenshot: http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/560955767440052923/7460B9552594BD03BF46BA140EA33F89ED14B62B/)

Of course, I may have not used the correct ranges, but some software can help you get the decimal value of the character you want to use.

I downloaded "BabelMap", a font viewer. With this, I was able to get the decimals value of the glyph, to build ranges with this.

I think this BabalMap is really great, maybe other software can do the job too on that page:
http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/best-free-font-viewer.htm

Please let me know if you got troubles.

Hard to get a similar font and the atmosphere of the game.

I'm sorry to bother you. :)
And
Thank you.

Hi minipol!

Have you chosen the font you want to use to make the translation?

Tell me the name of the font, and i'll tweak the "Font.xml" for you, package the whole thing in a archive.

You can write here, or at: guillaume(at)swingswingsubmarine[dot]com
What is the name of the font? (or send me a links to a .ttf file).

Thanks!
minipol 14 Oct, 2012 @ 4:56am
Hi nitram!

I saw your posts
It's too difficult for me.
<AdditionalGlyphRange From="x" to="y" /> this part
I do not know how to put what.

Followed the English portion of the well.
Korean, I can not see at all.

Excuse me, but could give me help site or program?
Or
Could you help by sending me some font files?

Please understand I did not speak English and writing smooth.

Thank you!
nitram  [author] 13 Oct, 2012 @ 9:49am
Hi minipol!

Korean, Japan, China should be possible.

The thing I didn't explained well in the tutorial in the first place was a little bit more explained in point 10/

In fact, you'll need to add or uncomment and tweak some "<AdditionalGlyphRange from="x" to="y" />" (1 or several depending on you language). This is in Font.xml file

And the first time you change the language in the option file, I think there is a bug that will make the new font not loaded correctly, leading to "blank buttons". Restart the game and it should be okay.

Hopes it help!
minipol 13 Oct, 2012 @ 7:53am
Asian double-byte characters ever possible?
Example) Korean, Japan, China ...

1 Insert the name of the font to Font.xml
2 Run the game, I do not read the words.
nitram  [author] 12 Oct, 2012 @ 1:08am
Hi SnoWSheeP!

If you reupload, then it will update the existing one in the Workshop.

If you really want to make a new entry in the workshop, you'll have to delete the folder "workshop_donotdelete" that was created next to your "Texts.xml" file you were editing.

---
For the end user, for now there is a little "bug" to automatically update your file. The users will have to go in the "Options" menu and wait for the "Workshop sync" to end (it's a little text in the bottom of the screen).
i'm going to make some changes on that, so that the updates are automatically done if a change occurred on a language item!
Lenrash 11 Oct, 2012 @ 11:38pm
Hi, i have a translation uploaded in the workshop and now i want to update it.
I just want to know if i upload again by pressing F5, this will update my translation or will create a new one?
Thanks!
nitram  [author] 11 Oct, 2012 @ 4:50am
Hi Stheno!

Can you send me your wip Texts.xml (with at least 1 sentence using cyryllic), and the File Font you're using too?

So i will be able to exaclty check what's going wrong, and fix it if it's a bug!

During the development of this feature, we only experimented with Japanese Font, so maybe I missed something!

Thanks!

(PS: my email: guillaume(at)swingswingsubmarine[]com)
Tacopon 11 Oct, 2012 @ 4:39am
Okay, tried the debug mode. The moment I type a russian letter in the "texts" file the game changes it's language setting to en, but the debug window doesn't show any errors. My first thought was: "Hey, it might happen because the font doesn't support cyryllic!" I checked, and yes, it doesn't support cyryllic. So I replaced it with the simillar font that should work (and it actually worked, the font in-game changed), but still I just couldn't type anything russian, because the game would still change back to "en". Any ideas?
ChainSaw 11 Oct, 2012 @ 3:50am

anderborak 11 Oct, 2012 @ 3:39am
I can translate it to Spanish if I can finish the story mode LOL

Thanks for the tutorial. I was kinda lost while in the text editor and with the order they get displayed, but I think I got it. Should get a pack done soon.

thanks!
nitram  [author] 10 Oct, 2012 @ 11:02am
Hi rogue,

It should work on Mac too, if it's not, then it's a bug.

The game folder is harder to reach, you'll have to use the "Go To" in the Finder and enter the path:
"~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/blocks that matter/"

because a lot of folder are hidden in the Lion+ OSes
andrea 10 Oct, 2012 @ 6:32am
does this work also on mac?
nitram  [author] 10 Oct, 2012 @ 1:02am
Hi everyone!

Mustaine, I just answered your email... but I was asking you again if you were using a custom font... i've got the answer now :]

If the game is choosing "en" again, it can be because there is an issue in the xml file provided. The common mistakes is to forget to close an xml tag (<ws value="foo" /> will work while <ws value="foo" > will not, because the closing tag is not valid).

You can send me Texts.xml file (with the Font you want to use if it's different from the default one).

If you want to know what's going on while you're making a Texts.xml file, you can run the game in Console mode. I'm going to add a 11/ DEBUG section in the Tutorial to explain you how to proceed. By doing so, the console will output the errors in the xml file (line, and column), so that can be helpful.

Thanks for your feedback!
Tacopon 9 Oct, 2012 @ 11:59am
Same problem, language keeps resetting to "en". However, I didn't try changing the font just yet, it's pretty late here right now.
M 9 Oct, 2012 @ 11:56am
Yes I did, but it does not work. Also I have problem changing language in BTM option, everytime I press enter to confirm my settings, the language will return to 'en' again.
bargain 9 Oct, 2012 @ 11:39am
Have you tried changing the font, Mustaine? It is in the step 10.
M 9 Oct, 2012 @ 11:07am
I just tried but it seems this game does not support Chinese words. :(

nitram  [author] 8 Oct, 2012 @ 8:11am
This is a silly and partial customization of the text database.

Just to illustrate the tutorial that will help you to provide custom texts for the game.

You can make funny texts, or translate the existing one to propose the game in new languages!
