We’re So Back! This update doesn’t bring new content, but it’s still a big one!
  • Fixed issues with some nextbots.
    • Fixed Prowler and Gargoyle not using pose parameters correctly.
    • Fixed Prowler and Gargoyle not playing idle sounds.
    • Corrected Hell Guards’ behavior.
  • Optimizations and minor fixes for ALL nextbots.
  • Improved and optimized addon systems.
    • Projectile dodging system optimized and improved.
      • Nextbots will no longer dodge projectiles they cannot see.
      • General improvements to the dodging system.
    • Unstuck system optimized.
  • Added a ConVar to control gibbing for nextbots.
  • Added the Cursed Prowler curse along with its special behavior.
    • The Cursed Prowler can now curse you, causing continuous damage until you reach 30 health.
      • The Cursed Prowler’s curse can be disabled via a ConVar.
    • Each time the Cursed Prowler performs its teleport + melee attack, it will teleport away from the player.
  • Added a new AI for the Marauder, very similar to the original.
  • Added the Stone Imp charge attack with particles.
  • Fixed several aspects of the Armored Baron.
    • Improved its mace attack logic.
    • Fixed its jump attack, now it properly elevates when jumping.
  • Added the Riot Soldier.
    • Currently disabled; only its model is present along with basic behavior.
  • Zombies have new turning animations.
  • Screecher improvements:
    • Better particles and a new particle effect upon death.
    • Added a new death animation and sound.
  • Removed unused assets.

And probably a few more things I forgot...

• Fixed bug related to null entities and freezing in DOOM Hunter.
• Fixed bug related to null entities and freezing in Carcass.
• Fixed the stone imp taking increased damage from the autoshotgun even if damaged without the weapon modifier active.
- Now it is accurate to the original game, you must kill him with the autoshotgun modifier activated.
• Changed the stone imp.
- Now his health is not increased, he has the same health as the Imp, now he receives even more reduced damage if he is damaged with anything other than the autoshotgun.
• Removed the spirit buff on the screecher.

What's next?

VERSION 1.2.3

• Added empowered demons.
- Added options to disable/enable them and to control their spawn rate. They are demons with more health, damage resistance, and speed.
• Fixed a rare bug related to other NPCs destroying weak points and consequently getting a lua error.
- Likewise, NPCs will still be able to destroy weak points, however there is no longer a lua error when this happens.
• Added an option to prevent ragdolls from burning and disappearing.

• Temporarily removed the glory kill system.
- The system will return with original animations/sounds for all demons in the future.
• Added damage resistance for the stone imp.
- It is now very vulnerable to auto-shotgun damage.
• Hell Soldiers now fires up to 4 big projectiles. (previously a maximum of 3)

• Improved the system for aiming at the enemy with "aim_pitch" and "aim_yaw".
- It is now much smoother and when they stop having an enemy they return to their original pose just as if they stop seeing the enemy.

VERSION 1.2.1c

• Fixed issues with getting current enemy location.
- It occurs when the enemy was not on the ground and the nextbot tried to calculate an area near the position of that same enemy causing the nextbot to run to a place too far away.
• Fixed (hopefully) rare moments of intense lag.
- It happened when the nextbot was on the edge of an elevated area, then the nextbot's movement calculation went crazy and hence the massive lag.
- Some implemented tweaks modify the behavior of the nextbot when it is on an edge about to fall, causing it to stop using self:FollowPath() if that happens, thus avoiding miscalculations and therefore lag.
• Adjustments to the "escape" system used on the Imp and Hell Soldier will now recognize if they are cornered and will therefore flee in another direction.
• Improvements to the combat AI of Hell Soldier shield bearers with plasma rifles.
- They will now turn much more often if needed when an enemy is nearby, different movement logic depending on whether their enemy is on the ground or not.
• Improvements to gargoyle combat AI.
- Now they will be able to keep their distance from their enemy, similar behavior with the Imp.
• Adjustments to Hell Soldier firing behavior.
- They no longer randomly shoot at walls if their enemy is behind one, they must directly see the enemy to shoot.
