  • Armored Baron improvements:
    • Fixed a bug with the Armored Baron’s melee attacks
    • Changed the particle effect of the mace attack
    • Now much more aggressive
    • Increased mace damage from 26 to 27 - 36
    • Fixed a bug where the activated armor particle would spawn in the world shortly after the Armored Baron died
    • Fixed a bug preventing the Armored Baron from playing its rage taunt animation
    • Increased the time window to hit its weak spot during the mace attack from 1s - 1.5s
    • It is no longer possible to hook him with the Super Shotgun’s meathook while his armor is active
  • Minor improvements to the Cursed Prowler:
    • Can now be hooked with the Super Shotgun’s meathook, but gains immunity to it if it has cursed a player

    • If it has cursed a player, upon death it now only grants 20 health if the killer is a player

  • Fixed "Tried to use a NULL entity!" errors on almost all nextbots (me when I forget to put IsValid(enemy) before using something from the enemy)
  • The Cursed Prowler can no longer randomly teleport when it has cursed a player (it will still teleport only when using its shadowclaw attack)
  • Added directional attacks for zombies (e.g., if you are to their left and they are not facing you, they will play the melee_left animation)
  • Fixed Mecha Zombie not moving in most cases.
  • Added melee SFX for Hell Soldiers with shields.
  • Fixed Riot Soldier being in the wrong category.

Major improvements to pathfinding and AI, delivering much better performance on maps with poor navmesh!

This update is considered unstable due to the significant changes introduced. Proper testing is required to ensure stability. Please report any bugs you encounter to help us refine the addon.
  • Pathfinding improvements:
    • Demons no longer chase unreachable enemies outside the navmesh or map.
    • Movement and DrG_RandomPos positions are no longer invalid or placed outside the world.
    • Fixed major lag spikes caused by:
      • Targets located in unreachable areas.
      • Pathfinding attempts around stair/ramp-like geometry.
      • Fleeing into unreachable or costly navmesh zones.
  • General improvements to demon pathing, movement, and decision-making. They can now detect and avoid poor pathing positions.
  • Added more dynamic lights (configurable via ConVar):
    • Baron (Bornfire)
    • Prowler Cursed
    • Shield Soldier (light color dynamically changes based on shield state)
    • Stone Imp
    • Cacodemon
    • Dreadknight (including Dreadknight Immora variant)
    • Revenant (Cyber)


  • New idle behavior:
    • Demons now smoothly look around when they don’t have an active target.
  • Fixes:
    • Baron (Bornfire) no longer loses its flame effects after killing an enemy and taunting.
    • Cyberdemon, Revenant, and Maykr Drone no longer shoot at enemies they cannot see.
    • Cursed Prowler appearing as empowered.
    • Lost Soul appearing as empowered (bruh)
  • Removed:
    • Hell Soldier (Shotgunner)
  • Changes to the Cursed Prowler:
    • Only one Cursed Prowler can curse you at a time.
    • When the cursed player dies, all the buffs that the Cursed Prowler received are removed until it curses another player again.
    • You will now lose health much faster while cursed.
    • Improved escape AI: each time it performs shadowclaw attack, it will now teleport to longer distances. Additionally, whenever it uses this ability, its random teleport cooldown will reset (preventing it from teleporting near the player immediately after escaping). Now, all Cursed Prowlers will flee in the opposite direction of their enemy if they are too close.
    • Added a visual Blood Punch icon above Cursed Prowlers that have cursed a player (while their curse is active).
  • The cacodemon can now choke on HL2 grenades.
  • Re-added and activated the Riot Soldier:
    • Includes the same strengths and weaknesses as in the original game.
    • AI behavior closely resembles the original.
    • Uses the original model and animations.
    • If you haven’t played DOOM Eternal and don’t know how to defeat him, here’s some documentation:
      • He is immune to headshots and to any attacks coming from the front.
      • His shield is completely immune to all damage; only a BFG shot or the microwave beam from the Plasma Gun can disable it.
      • To kill him, you must position yourself behind him, or place explosives behind him.
      • You cannot hook him with the Meathook, use the Chainsaw, the Microwave Beam, or freeze him from the front, you must attack from behind.
      • If he starts charging his chaingun, you’d better start moving.

    VERY VERY IMPORTANT NOTE! PLEASE READ
    1. Unstable Release
    This update introduces significant changes and may include new behavioral bugs. Reporting issues is highly encouraged. For example, we previously found (and fixed) a bug where the Pinky Demon would not move. These are the types of problems we’d like players to help identify.
    2. Performance Expectations
    Despite the optimizations, these are still Nextbots. Minor FPS drops may occur, but they should now be much less frequent.

  • FPS drops may still appear if:
    • The map has a very poor navmesh.
    • Pathfinding delay is set too low.
  • Recommended settings to minimize lag:
    • Use the x64 beta branch of Garry’s Mod (Nextbot pathfinding runs better there)
    • Increase DrGBase compute delay: drgbase_compute_delay (recommended max: 3).
  • If you still experience lag spikes, it is likely due to broken navmesh areas in the map itself.
      For example:
    Standing in such areas may cause temporary lag when Nextbots are active. Unfortunately, there is no universal fix beyond avoiding those zones. Luckily, this should not affect most maps.

We’re So Back! This update doesn’t bring new content, but it’s still a big one!
  • Fixed issues with some nextbots.
    • Fixed Prowler and Gargoyle not using pose parameters correctly.
    • Fixed Prowler and Gargoyle not playing idle sounds.
    • Corrected Hell Guards’ behavior.
  • Optimizations and minor fixes for ALL nextbots.
  • Improved and optimized addon systems.
    • Projectile dodging system optimized and improved.
      • Nextbots will no longer dodge projectiles they cannot see.
      • General improvements to the dodging system.
    • Unstuck system optimized.
  • Added a ConVar to control gibbing for nextbots.
  • Added the Cursed Prowler curse along with its special behavior.
    • The Cursed Prowler can now curse you, causing continuous damage until you reach 30 health.
      • The Cursed Prowler’s curse can be disabled via a ConVar.
    • Each time the Cursed Prowler performs its teleport + melee attack, it will teleport away from the player.
  • Added a new AI for the Marauder, very similar to the original.
  • Added the Stone Imp charge attack with particles.
  • Fixed several aspects of the Armored Baron.
    • Improved its mace attack logic.
    • Fixed its jump attack, now it properly elevates when jumping.
  • Added the Riot Soldier.
    • Currently disabled; only its model is present along with basic behavior.
  • Zombies have new turning animations.
  • Screecher improvements:
    • Better particles and a new particle effect upon death.
    • Added a new death animation and sound.
  • Removed unused assets.

And probably a few more things I forgot...

• Fixed bug related to null entities and freezing in DOOM Hunter.

• Added empowered demons.
- Added options to disable/enable them and to control their spawn rate. They are demons with more health, damage resistance, and speed.
• Fixed a rare bug related to other NPCs destroying weak points and consequently getting a lua error.
- Likewise, NPCs will still be able to destroy weak points, however there is no longer a lua error when this happens.
• Added an option to prevent ragdolls from burning and disappearing.
