v.1.4.2 DEMO

  • TV Shows from The Vadlers Take are back, you can watch the TV in your house. After each mission, you get a new, unique scene to see.
Minor changes/fixes:
  • Fixed popup message not appearing in "First Attack"
  • Fixed mission intro text missing in "Babysitting"
  • Only 4 crates were showing up in the van in "Scheduling the Meeting", now it's properly 5
  • Melee Force modifier from winning Club Z Fights is removed from "Can you play baseball?" due it to causing the ball to fly too far away upon impact with the bat
  • The cashier's speech bubble from "Market Escape" is now red instead of gray
  • The CFTXT effect upon gaining money from quests now properly displays the "$" sign
  • Other minor changes not worth mentioning

  • Improvements to the save system: Now the weapons in your inventory also get saved every time you quit the map.

  • Club Z Fights - Fight your way through 10 enemies in a row for a special reward, located in District 2 of Sunny City

Minor changes/fixes:
  • Updated for compatibility with 1.4.1 SFD version
  • When gaining money, text displayed is green
  • When losing money, text displayed is red
  • Individual cameras only allow 100% zoom level (otherwise you could see things outside of the playable area, which I want to avoid)
  • Soda machine in district 2 properly sells only one item per purchase instead of two

  • MONEY SYSTEM
    • You gain money after completing certain missions and side missions
    • Items from Toys n' Ammo now cost money
    • Getting drunk costs money
    • Buying bottles and HP from soda machines now costs money
    • Dying in Free Roam mode takes away $800 from your account for the hospital bill, you can be in debt if you don't have enough money
    • Completing all 5 waves of the police event now rewards you with $10000
    • There are safes scattered around the world, opening one gives you $100, they aren't easy to notice so keep your eyes out
    • You can do quests for NPCs around the world in Free Roam mode, completing them gives you additional money

Minor changes/fixes:
  • Objects spawned around the world are now randomized
  • Slight changes to dialogue so it's less cringe and corny
  • Fixed cutscene skip popup message not disappearing properly in "Train Trouble"
  • Added sound effects for opening doors in "Photoshoot"
  • Music now changes when finding Alyssa in "Photoshoot"
  • Invisible blocks now get properly deleted when skipping the cutscene in "For Richard"
  • Explosions no longer damage vehicles in "Market Escape"
  • Script errors in "Market Escape" should be hopefully, finally fixed? This still needs testing, I'm not sure if I fixed it or not, let me know if there are still issues

  • New mission: "The Meeting"
  • New mission: "For Richard"
  • Territorial Takeovers! You can now take over areas controlled by Casers by tagging over every graffiti in said area
  • VERY important cutscene added at the end of the "Babysitting" mission

Minor changes/fixes:
  • The item on top of the safehouse in The Hood is now random every time instead of always being a machine pistol
  • Added reward from "Toilet Master" to Helen's House as well, since that also counts as a Safe House
  • Side missions now also have opening texts with mission names like normal missions do
  • Your speed is now decreased to 0.8 instead of 0.5 in "Crate Stealers" when carrying a crate
  • Adjusted the chance of the conspiracy event from 1 in 50 to 1 in 10
  • Fixed minor spelling and grammar mistakes in dialogues
  • Fixed a dialogue trigger not connected to the bartender in "Crate Stealers"
  • Added sound effects for opening doors in "Scheduling the Meeting" and "Alyssa's new job"
  • Removed the "FVF" grafitti from "Scheduling the Meeting"
  • Replaced some swear words with more family friendly counterparts in several areas

v.1.1 DEMO

  • New mission: "Babysitting" - introducing a new character
  • New Free Roam mode location: "Helen's House"

Fixes:
  • When grabbing a Caser in "Scheduling the Meeting", the fail sound effect only plays once instead of being spammed a million times
  • All silenced weapons get removed from your inventory in "Scheduling the Meeting" for extra immersion, because it makes no sense for them to hear your gunshots with silencers

Minor changes:
  • More random events
  • Changed the Sawed-Off shotgun from "Sewer Dwellers" to a Pump-action shotgun, also replacing it as a reward
  • Brad now reacts if you stand in front of the windshield during the police chase in "Crate Stealers"
  • When using the broken microwave in the safehouse, the dialogue is now tied to Devin instead of the button itself
  • Added stars to the night sky - I tried copying some actual constellations but they're hidden behind buildings in the background, so you can't see much anyway, oh well
  • Conspiracy Event now has 1 in 50 chance of happening during night time
  • Added more sound areas
  • Added an effect when using graffiti in mission "Counter Attack"
  • More minor changes not worth mentioning

v.1.0 DEMO

  • The map now saves your progress automatically, so you can leave at any time and come back later. No matter what map part you choose to play on, it will throw you into the correct one regardless, based on the progress you've made.
  • Added a new mission: "Alyssa's new job", which upon completion rewards you with a new location: "Beach"
  • Added a new mission: "Photoshoot", finally concluding what Alyssa was hiding all along
  • Added two side missions with their own rewards for completing them: "Sewer Dwellers" and "Toilet Master"
  • Drastically improved the travel system: It is now smooth by replacing triggers with script
  • Improved some visuals around town, including renovation Jo's Bar
  • Drunk effect now lasts only 45 seconds but can be re-applied afterwards

Free Roam mode changes:
  • Free Roam is now completely separate from the missions in its own map parts, which allows for A LOT more flexibility and massively reduces the size of the map file
  • All locations are separated into districts, which all use different map parts, which heavily reduces fps drops and lag
  • Added a working, GTA-inspired POLICE SYSTEM: Attacking too many pedestrians will trigger police to show up, your wanted level will increase as you kill more police officers. You can escape the cops by fleeing to another district or starting a new mission
  • Added random events around the world, including NPC interactions, randomized weather and a super-rare conspiracy event
  • Added a new location: "Beach" in district 2 of Sunny City

Small changes to missions from Vadlers Take:
  • Removed some unnecesarry dialogue during car chase in "Market Escape", added a health bar for the car, fixed some script errors and added indicators for the origin of your projectile as well as the parts of the cop cars you have to destroy
  • "Crate Stealers" no longer has a forklift, instead you carry the crates by yourself, Brad's AI has been changed, both him and the player have more health and security guards don't spawn as often, added indicators for the chase sequence similarily to "Market Escape"
  • It is no longer required to win the match against Alyssa in "Can you play baseball?" to progress, so you can just wait through this section
  • "Caser Stealers" has been renamed to "Scheduling the meeting" and includes additonal objective to use a phone in the building
  • Other small changes that aren't noteworthy

  • Removed the phone menu in the safehouse - it was entirely useless, didn't add anything to the map and I didn't want to waste time working on that, besides it would make the game a lot more laggy, so instead the phone is now used for tips about missions
  • Removed TV shows - they would lag the game in map editor considering the new Free Roam system and I don't want to deal with that. Besides, it was pretty much useless and unstable other than adding a little bit of world building, I'd rather focus on things that actually matter, like adding new missions and stuff
  • Removed the weapon buying system from Toys n' Ammo and replaced it with a simpler, less heavy solution, same reason why TV shows and phone menu was removed
