New Cold War Cargo Ship Spawn - Essence Investigator

This one is the same as the other tier 2 cargo ships, except that it is packed with highly valuable prototech loot and a large supply of advanced ingots.

New Hot War "Enforcer" Spawn - Enthralled Enforcer

Much like the Cold War enforcers, except that it summons squads of starfighters, has much more powerful torpedos, and stronger armor around its most sensitive components. Oh, and more guns.

New Cold War "Enforcer" Spawn - Untenated Enforcer

The enforcer spawns (the other is "Empty Enforcer") are larger small-grid patrols with turrets, Void Clan torpedos, and the ability to summon additional fighters to a fight.

If a player can manage to not obliterate them too badly, they have rather excellent loot for their size, with a far less point score towards starting war with Void Clan (than a cargo ship or a base).

This update adds a new encounter type - a Raid

When in Cold War state, in combat phase, and when the local area has a very high threat score, there is a small chance that a grid will spawn which will announce a raid. Then in the next 30-60 seconds, about 9-10 Void Zero fighters will spawn and choose random targets to attack. Destroying Void Clan ships in a raid will not add any points towards war with Void Clan.

This makes any unarmed or unprotected grids vulnerable to direct attack in the Cold War state, as though Void Clan is skirmishing with other factions (yours).

The goal of this encounter is to introduce the player to patterns of challenges they will face in the future, to give very powerful players a more interesting experience, and to force a very powerful player to exercise some degree of concern when expanding their operations.

A more extensive raid style spawn will be developed for the war state with Void Clan.

👾 Void Clan Boss Encounter 👾

After earning enough points by destroying Void Clan's combat vessels in wartime, a boss encounter GPS will become eligible in combat phase. A decent threat score is required, but if a player can defeat enough Void Clan ships to spawn a boss, then the player has enough resources to win.

Over time, harder boss encounters will be developed to spawn according to higher and higher threat scores.

Once the main battleship is defeated, a message will appear describing Void Clan's resentment and the points for wartime and boss will reset. Cold War resumes with the passive encounters and weaker ships.

New Encounter Style - Attack Ship

This one is quite simple - players with higher threat scores will attrack warships that attack immediately after spawning, no patrolling or chance to evade targeting. It fights until its destroyed or out of targets.

The Vortex Predator is the first in this style, what it lacks in torpedoes and fighters it attempts to make up for with turrets.

At this point the Void Clan boss encounter is in development and will be released soon.

New Encounter Style - Torpedo Warship

Two new combat encounters can spawn when there is a decent threat score in the area:

* The Abysmal Terror
* The Spectral Leviathan

These patrol space looking for targets from great distances, and will bombard those targets with waves of many torpedoes. They also use the new Obliterator and Magnetar Torpedoes, which allow the torpedo ship to potentially attack three separate targets.

If a ship gets too close to these "space attack submarines," they will move a few kilometers away and rely on torpedoes for defense.

Once a torpedo ship has used up its supply of torpedoes, it will attempt to retreat from the area (despawn). Players will have to quickly disable thrusters or the remote control to get loot from this encounter.

Topedo Overhaul Phase II - Stations

Fighter stations now shoot fewer torpedos, and have a smaller range for torpedo triggering. They now launch fighters more frequenly, and the strike squad once again shoots double torpedo IIs (fixing a previous bug).

Torpedo stations shoot a lot more torpedos more frequently. Additionally, they will periodically fire powerful warheads, including the Obliterator Torpedo and Magnetar Torpedo.
