Update #4

The biggest things this week are Revenants and plumbing (optimizations to code). There are a couple of things that are currently on my radar and I will be trying to address next week: one of them is Behemoth getting stuck somewhere (like Antarctica, for example). This update should not break saves, but experience shows that it will probably cause new bugs to appear or resurrect old ones. You know the drill: report anything strange and keep the TFTV.log (location in the ingame error message), Player.log (somewhere around here: C:\Users\[User]\AppData\LocalLow\Snapshot Games Inc\Phoenix Point) and a save in case it is needed.

- Bugfixes

+ Researching Receptacle after completing LOTA breaks research, doesn't show cutscene, etc.
+ Project #classified# not clearing candidates list, causing issues on loading saves, for example
+ Revenant timer not being reset (so Revenants appearing constantly)
+ Research duplicates in Marketplace (Vanilla issue)
+ Special Revenant resistance interfering with DoT
+ Special Revenant resistance not depleting from attacks on non-body parts
+ Wrong background for peaceful Helena release
+ More Mist VO not increasing deployment
+ Vanilla texts for Charun intelligence report, fuel tank and cruise control modules.

- Changes

+ Improved method for clearing internal variables on loading/restarting game; should be a little more stable and less error prone.
+ Lower threshold for Project #classified# and added benefits descriptions to corresponding researches, to point player in right direction

- Further implementation

+ Project #classified# added mention to class
+ Project #classified# faction and dual classes now work
+ Revenants 2.0: added two additional resistances, new process for selecting resistances so that they are chosen at random among 3 top options generated based on player’s record, small icon visible at all times to show that Pandoran has resistance, hint on spotting Pandoran with resistance describing it, new method for selecting what class the Revenant will take (so that a Revenant wanting to spawn into a Scylla will spawn into something else if no Scyllas around)

The third update for TFTV open beta is in!

We are actively hunting for a bug that has been reported twice so far, where completing a certain Receptacle research under a set of unknown circumstances can stop further researches/manufacturing. That’s kinda nasty, so before researching it, please save your game, and if you run into, send us your Player.log (located at or around [C]:\Users\[your-Windows-username]\AppData\LocalLow\Snapshot Games Inc\Phoenix Point).

As you can see from the changelog, we are starting to act on some of the feedback that we have received. We will only do this when we feel like we have sufficient feedback and when we are confident that the change is in the right direction. So please continue telling us everything you love and hate about TFTV. We are especially interested in things that make the game too difficult or too easy for you, the pace too slow or too fast, and what mechanics you find unclear/badly explained within the game.


- Bugfixes:

+ Human enemies running out of names during longer gaming sessions
+ Failure to spawn Revenant when list of candidates is emptied because dead operatives turn out to be still alive (e.g. because savescumming)
+ Triton Umbra hint not showing
+ Bloodthirsty text still showing 2WP loss instead of 1 WP
+ In some cases rejected Diplomacy mission not being offered again
+ Void Omen effects lingering after removal until loading a save
+ With VO Umbra can appear anywhere and attack anyone, Touched by the Void being assigned to any Pandoran (second attempt at fix)
+ Revenant hint not showing for Dybbuk and Nemesis

- Changes

+ In More Mist VO, amount of mist depends on difficulty level and is reduced on Pandoran colonies maps. Extra deployment slot for missions with 8 deployment slots.
+ Behemoth mission max deployment set to 8 (because Masked Manticore seats 8 max) (Vanilla issue)

- New stuff

+ Partial localization to French, courtesy of BrainKiller

Bugfixes:

- Broken limbs list not being cleared properly between saves
- Some VO exponentially increasing/decreasing certain rewards/penalties
- Error messages related to Revenant rewards
- Extra WP cost VO giving error messages
- Vanilla bug not allowing Tritons to use evolved arms
- Empty researches for air modules still available to research/buy in marketplace
- Diplo missions refused prior to Update#2 not being offered again (thanks Strates!)
- Run & Gun malfunctioning when a certain number of ability icons present
- With VO Umbra can appear anywhere and attack anyone, Touched by the Void being assigned to any Pandoran

if after previous update you are reaching 49 or 74 rep with a faction, but are not offered a diplo mission
1) Go to console (on most keyboards, the button to the left of 1). If you don't have it enabled by other means, press up arrow, down arrow, left arrow, right arrow, s, n, a, p, s, h, o, t
2) In the console, type geo_event_trigger and after that the ID of the event you need to trigger from the list below

Please note that this feature has not been yet tested internally: we wanted to share this with you as soon as possible to get your feedback to improve further implementation/polishing. It is likely that you will encounter bugs, hopefully not game-breaking.

This update should not break saves.

Remember that:

1) TFTV and Tutorial are not compatible.

2) All DLC must be enabled for TFTV to work..

3) Loading a game saved in Tactical is likely to cause errors.

4) Every once in a while you can get recurring CTD or something equally nasty. Please keep a couple of safety saves just in case.

+ Void Omen with hostile defenders ending in failure in some cases even when all invaders defeated
+ Some internal variables being shared among different saves and causing problems (such as VO)
+ VO halving diplo rewards and penalties not halving raid penalties
+ Sophia and Jacob get higher stats every time new game is started without quitting to desktop
+ First Scylla spawned could be very advanced (now always basic Scylla will spawn first).
+ Electric strike wrong info on tooltip and could be used more than once per turn
+ Umbra and Revenant hints constantly appearing
+ Shadow/Agile legs mixed up stats
+ Psychic resistance not working
+ Infested havens losing mission still giving LW rewards
