Vortex Patch
Polish:
- Added Po and Gumbo Compat for Vortex Gallery 2023!
- Added Mamizou Compat for Vortex Gallery 2023!

Gameplay:
- Nair: Disabled Hover on hit. This was supposed to be there last patch but the change did not actually go through.
- Fspecial: Emerency has a 30 frame cool down to slow down multiple uses of it when recovering
- Clone: Made the Nspec clone spawn force the clone to face Roekoko instead of spawning in one direction all the time, this was an oversight.
- Clone: Added code to prevent clone from walking if the real roekoko gets hit while controlling it.
- Clone: Parrying the clone or Roekoko will cause the clone to turn into a wisp instantly so it is not confusing on parry
- Clone: Added in code for the double jump reverse speed to better match how base cast handles double jumps.

Polish

- Added "Kiriko" tag to her clone name pool. LET THE KITSUNE GUIDE YOU.
- Baptiste is still the better support in my opinion.
- Added jump sound for the clone when jumping from the ground. Missed this during her polishing.

- Updated colors by CAM.
- Updated Colors by Bee.
- Added in Tap Jump Functionality for clone based on feedback from JPEGWarrior. Thanks for the help on this.

Balance
- Buff: Retuned Jab Frame Data to connect to jab 3 better. Can still be teched but the window is smaller. Noticed in game play that Jab 3 rarely connected.
- Nerf: Added transparency to the clone when it is parried to make it clear which one is the real one and which is the fake one based on complaints by Landkon
- Nerf: Increased dspecial cooldown after the clone has assisted during the grab based on feedback from Cam.
- Nerf: Dspecial Up version on the clone comes out 1 frame later to match the visual better based on feedback from Bee and Landkon.
- Nerf: Added precise hurtbox masking on the clone when it is doing attacks. It should now be easier to trade with and not have disjoint. Several people complained about this.
- Nerf: Reduced the size of the hitboxes on Dspecial. Most notably on the clone since they were complained about several times.
- Nerf: Reduced damage on Double Team Grab from 20% to 16% based on feedback from Jordan.

v2.10

New Ninetailed Alt Skin added!
- This alt is a "what if" / future skin depicting what Roekoko would look like as a Nine tailed fox.
- Skin is 100% cosmetic, no changes to hitboxes or hurtboxes or balance.
- Access the alt skin by using her CSS menu in the "more alts" section.
- Can switch back and forth between default and the alt skin.
- Alt comes with a unqiue CSS and portrait win screen as well!
- Special thanks to Supersonic for the advanced skin handler and trouble shooting.
- Special thanks to Fennie for reanimating the idle tails on base Roekoko which was the basis of this skin.
- Special thanks to Cam for helping me beta testing it.

Colors
- Remapped the tail tips to be a unqiue color slot now, was previously shared with the hair.
- Soul fire 2 color map no longer exists (Orange Color on the wisp, but now is no longer mapable)
- Several existing alts have been changed to match this new mapping.
- Bracket colors for her legality have been added: Heat Wave / Fungal Wastes / The Lotus Clash alts added!
- Cerbera Color from her beta returns as an extra color!
- Ouro Kronii alt moved to extra colors.

General
- Frame data and character guide by Bee and CAMaera link added as a QR code in the CSS.
- Fixed Neco-Roe win portrait that had missing pixels.
- Cleaned up Neco-Roe CSS portrait.
- Cleaned up default win portrait and css portrait a bit
- Fixed oversight where the real Roekoko would do the strech animation while the clone is out, making it easy to identify the real Roekoko when doing the "guess the real one" mini game.
- Fixed plat spawn logic for when the clone is assisting in air. It should spawn in more consistently. This plat is purely visual and does not impact gameplay.
- Lore information and Win Quotes typos corrected by Bee

Dspecial
- Fixed an issue where the clone would not mirror the Dspec grab if the joystick was held diagonally instead of straight down. Bug identified by Slime.

Fspecial and Uspecial
- Added input to be able to access the emergency recovery form of Fspecial / Uspecial by holding parry while inputting Fspecial / Uspecial to aid in recovery mix ups without using the clone. Requested by Slime

Fspecial
-Changed Iasa logic on the grounded version so she does not interupt the throwing portion with dash start up if holding in to the throw on keyboard. It looked really bad when this happened.

Uspecial
- Increased the speed of the clone when throwing it upwards (It was traveling slower than the real Roekoko, now it travels a bit faster). vsp 8 -> 9

Update: 3 Sep, 2022 @ 5:46pm

v2.5 9/3/2022

Testing 2

General
- Added new Alts: Tales of Ninjas for Slimepuffen / Graveyard Keeper for Fennie. Cybernetic Soldier and Azumuku alts moved to extra colors slot.
- Added requested strong button / stick inputs to grab with clone while remote controlling it. Using strong stick will grab in the direction it was inputted. For Loglord and Succ
- Added air drifting functionality to clone attacks while using clone remote control. Clone would lose control of air drift and it felt really bad. I couldn't place my finger on it before, but this was the reason using clone felt so much different that a player would.
- CSS Extra options: Added option on CSS to swap control input between Nspec / Dspec. Now you can have a Dspec shine / control clone and Nspec can be the grab. For Nori
- CSS Extra options: Added Alternate Portrait option for "Neco-Roe" for CAM and Bee

Update: 28 Aug, 2022 @ 7:44am

v2.4 8/28/2022

General
- New CSS menu added.
- Bunch of new colors added!
- Changed some new Clone Tags, took some from CAM and Bee.

Nair
- Added force flinch to 1st hitbox if it hits a grounded opponent to make the move more consistent as an aerial approach tool without neededing grab code.

Nspecial
- Tightened up the clone control frame data to make it more responseive. 6 frames before in control mode instead of 7. 6 was the lowest number that would debouce the nspecial button if it was tapped without feeling bad. Lowered Beckon animation endlag as well to make control feel more seamless.

Dspecial
- Tuned up the grab animation lerping logic so it looks way better when grabbing.
- Roekoko0 will now drag herself to the opponent, as opposed to dragging the opponent to it when grabbed. This means opponents grab above her will stay above her and she will go up to them.

Clone
- Mirrors Dspecial change on original Roekoko: Tuned up the grab animation lerping logic so it looks way better when grabbing.
- Mirrors Dspecial change on original Roekoko: Clone will now drag itself to the opponent, as opposed to dragging the opponent to it when grabbed.
- Downward version of grab in clone hitbox adjusted to be more inside of her body. Range unchanged, but will be more reliable up close.
- Added Short hopping to the clone.
- Added extended parry stun to the clone grab hitboxes for the upward and downward version if they are parried. Normal hitbox had it but not the special extra ones. Thanks Cam and Noarms!
- Fixed an issue with the Nspoecial clone control using the wrong hurtbox if you held the input.
- Fixed an issue that allowed the clone to grab while Roekoko was in hitstun. This was not intentional.
- fixed an issue where active hitboxes would hit he clone multiple times and cause a large sound spike. Now the clone can only be hit once.
- During the Dspecial version where the clone will assist the real roekoko after grabbing the opponent, the hitpause has been adjusted from base 20 to 8/.8 scaling to prevent the possibility of landing an upstrong no matter what. Opponent will now fly out of the grab quicker.
- Clone will no longer detonate upon pressing Nspecial during Uspec and Fspec. Now you can press Nspec after throwing the clone to go directly into controlling it. Nspec can still be tapped after the throw animation to detonate the clone.
- Tuned some air accel and friction values to make the clone feel better.
- Added filter to prevent 0 damage hitboxes (windboxes) from destroying the clone.(Thanks Tinmines!)
- Added extra conditions on EX clone throw to prevent the clone from getting stuck in the stomping animation (Thanks CAM!)
- Added in logic to the idle state to correct issue with the clone throwing twice and frame perfect landing storing a throw (This results in a lost throw in this case however).
- Adjusted timing of throw states to match animation better, there were playing an extra frame unintentionally.
- Added in logic to the throw states to prevent Throw -> Dspecial -> Then momentum is applied.

Update: 9 Aug, 2022 @ 7:29pm

v2.3 // 8/9 Patch
- Added cooldown to Clone's Downspecial if the opponent is hit out of the grab. This is to prevent Grab -> Dair -> Grab chains.
- Added Succ's Color "Black Hole Sun"
- Added CAMaera's color "Flame Shackle"
- Added Woodcock Support

Update: 24 Jul, 2022 @ 5:48pm

v2.2 7/24/22

General
-Adjusted sprite work / hitboxes / hurtboxes to add a small amount of range to most normals. Got a lot of complaints about the moves being very small / shrink wrapped so they have been made a couple of pixels larger.
- Fixed Taunt and nspecial pointing sprites are missing a pixel in the left ear.
- Fix hand in Nspecial calling animation to have paws.
- VFX on final EX Dspecial hit made bigger

Move Specific
- Dtilt - start up slightly buffed by 1 frame, 8 -> 7. There was not much reason to use this move normally so it has been made faster to make it more appearing as a neutral move / jab cancel mix up.
- Upstrong - Added Small hitbox to the top portion of the move for better top coverage. This is to cover a noticeable blind spot that felt bad.
- Uair - Buffed start up by 2 frames. 11 -> 9 Got several complaints that this move was simply too slow for the type of move that it was.
- Fair - Removed flipper 6 (which was from the Forsburn Reference)
- Nspecial - Fixed a bug that allowed jump canceling the move if the move was parried. Also added ability to hold Nspecial into remote control mode based on a request from AVI.
- Uspecial / Fspecial Emergency - Added wall jump canceling to this move. Was an oversight that you can't wall jump cancel these.
- Dspecial - Removed most of the cooldown from the clone's Dspec so it should be in sync with Roekoko. (Move needs 2 frames of cooldown to function within the code)

Clone coding
- Attempting to fix a parry stun issue where the clone can live after being parried if the opponent is grabbed after parry invuln
- Fixed hit order bug where the clone can escape from the dying phase if the player grabs someone. This was not intentional.
- Fixed an issue where when Roekoko was parried, it was draw a sprite in the wrong direction.
- Fixed an issue where the clone's dying timer was reset if it got hit continously, now it should disapeer after 30 franes of the initial hit.
- Added friction to the dying state so the clone doesn't go flying when it has been hit.
- Changed Nspecial behavior on clone when it explodes manually, it will no longer idle for 2 seconds if detonated with Nspecial. It will return after a shorter delay. Does not affect return time if clone is destroyed other ways.
- Fixed an issue with Fspecial clone throw into a frame perfect Dspecial will cause the Fspecial clone state for Fspecial throw to be skipped and the momentum to be canceled. Did this by adding some Dspecial cooldown on wisp creation. Not a perfect solution but works for now.

Update: 15 Jun, 2022 @ 9:06pm

v2.1
Dev Derby Lockout Patch

- Corrected Nair hitboxes to not let techs on opponents that are hit that are grounded. Should still allow techouts if they are hit in the air due to dragdown properties. Thanks for freedback from Wasteofaname on this.

- EX Dspecial didn't feel worth going for, so damage upped from 15 -> 20 to reward the set up required to execute it. base knockback and scaling un altered. Thanks for freedback from Mallow on this.

- Added in a code to fix an unintentional stall caused by Uspecialing continuously again at the bottom blast zone. The code will check for instances of contiunous of using Uspecial without getting hit or landing. If to many uses are detected, the Uspecial is locked out via cooldown. Thanks for help from Loglord on this.

- Added statement removing can_move / can _fastfall on Dspecial grab. Now you shouldn't be able to move during the move, which looked a bit silly. Thanks for freedback from Mallow on this.

v2.1

Short Background / Summary
Roekoko is a kitsune / fox that once lived as a carefree illustraitior and freelancer on the outskirts of the Neo Fire Capital. She lived mostly carefree, until she met Daora on her many trips into the city. Mesmerized by how smart, elegant, and strong Daora was, Roekoko requested to be her student so that she too could become stronger. Although uncertain, Daora saw great potential in this young fox, but knew that the path ahead was a dark one, as Daora plotted her revenge on the Neo Fire Capital for destroying her village.

As Daora and Roekoko descend into the city, the streets are a blaze in riots and firefights. Roekoko may not be prepared for what lies ahead...

Gameplay Description
Roekoko is a medium-light spacie archetype with a Forsburn clone inspired gimmick. Her clone is designed to deceive opponents and to land command grabs that allow for powerful follow ups from the real Roekoko. This character is heavily inspired by the Spacies, Chef by Angish, and Hikaru by Lukaru.

Strengths
- Quick spacie normals that are straight fordward.
- Clone gimmick is versatile. It can be used for deception, movement, or grabbing opponents to land finishers or rack up damage.
- Clone can be remote controlled for safe approaches on defensive players.

Weaknesses
- Normals do not feature long range or disjoint.
- No direct projectiles to zone or space.
- Clone is easy to destroy by any active hitbox. Deception is usually the key to landing it as direct approaches usually get stopped.
- Recovery is empowered by having her clone not spawned. Without the clone available, she can struggle to recover.
- Recovery is versatile but unsafe.

Gimmick / Specials

Gimmick description: Roekoko's clone is a remote controlled take on Forsburn's clone. It has NO AI component.

The clone can be spawned using Nspecial / Fspecial / Uspecial. Only one clone can be active at a time. It must not be out or be a wisp.

Nspecial

Clone not spawned: This is the quickest way to spawn the clone. The clone will spawn in front of Roekoko. In addition, this move features a shine hitbox similar to Zetterburn's shine. It can be jump canceled as well.

Clone spawned, tapping the special button: Tapping the button will cause the clone to do a small combust and return to Roekoko as a wisp.

Clone spawned, holding the special button: Will allow Roekoko to remote control the clone. The clone can move similar to a player, but it has much less options.

Clone can
- Dash
- Jump / Double Jump
- Wavedash on the ground on parry input
- Airdash directionally instead of airdodge on Parry input.
- Platdrop
- Use a directional grab on attack input. The clone can grab sideways, up, and down (air only)

Clone cannot
- Walk
- Wall jump
- Parry
- Use normals

Fspecial / Uspecial

If the clone is not spawned: These moves will spawn the clone and then proceed to throw it or have the clone throw the player depending on if the special button is held or not.

If the clone is spawned and nearby: This will do the same as above but will skip the clone spawning portion of the move. Note: If the player is grounded while being thrown by Uspecial, Roekoko will have an extra double jump for that airtime.

If the clone is spawned by not nearby:

- Fspecial cloneless: A small forward kick with a lot of wind up. Use this to recover horizontally. Hitbox on this is not very strong and the move does not have a lot of application outside of emergency recovery

- Uspecial cloneless:: This is an emergency upward recovery move that Roekoko will need to use if she has no other resources left. It has no hitboxes and leaves her in pratfall.

Dspecial

- This is a short range command grab where she holds them still for a small period of time before releasing them.
- The special part of this move is that the clone will also do the command grab at the same time.
- You can grab opponents with the clone and then follow up with any move you want.

- Grabbing the opponent with the Player Roekoko when your clone is out will cause the clone to travel to you and deliver a strong kick at the end of it.

- If the opponent is being grabbed by the clone and you also grab the same opponent with the real Roekoko, she will use a special tag team throw with the clone. Use this to rack up damage as it's her single most damaging option. This special tag team grab will not kill and should not be used at higher percents.
