Tweaked the explosion effect. (Still looks awful, but not as awful)
Reduced the explosion size a touch to better represent the actual damage range. (Still probably too big)
Included an explosion lifespan modifier based on the size of the explosion.

Updated particles effect creation to ensure explosion effects are visible.

There was an issue when beyond a certain distance from the galactic origin (0,0,0 gps coord) that would make the explosion effect not spawn correctly.

5% - 10% made large ship large reactors un-combustable in vanilla beyond some kind of wildly unlikely circumstance.

Changed to 2% - 10%.

I need to look into adding a connection to weapons-core, and changing the percentage threshold accordingly.

Hotfix:
All damage was setting off reactors.
Really not sure why this was not mentioned.

Revision 1:
Increased possible failsafe failure:

  • Instead of 10% integrity damage required to detonate now reactors can detonate between 1% and 10% integrity damage based on current output compared to max output.
  • This will probably be nerfed in the future, as this may make reactors a little too volatile, but everyone likes big explosions. :-)
  • None to fret though, this system is still a good idea, and may just turn into 5% to 10% in the future instead of 1% - 10%.
